Ouran High School Host Club’s anime was one of my comfort shows growing up, and I’m slowly working on reading the manga from the library. I’m enjoying it, but it’s also good to know what to expect as I move forward with it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Tokyo MewMew was one of my favorites in middle school, but when I re-read it as an adult, there were a few things about it that really bothered me.
I feel you on the majority of these series, was never a huge fan of Fushigi Yugi but I was a huge fan of the majority of her other works, specifically Alice 19th but after a reread I took it from a 9 to a 7, so we'll see what Ceres will get when I get around to rereading it. Vampire knight manga went in a direction I didn't like so I got rid of it a long time ago though I still have the anime for now, not watched it in a long time. Got rid of Ouran highschool host club anime and another one I didn't like how it continued whilst reading the manga. Still reading Black Butler from the library, bought all the anime a long time ago but I don't love it like I used to. I'm feeling like Otomen is one I used to love, gave it a 10 and then on a reread it got an 8.
@@ilvanime01 I never owned Alice 19th or Ceres but, my friend did and I read her copies and loved them(back in HS). I wonder if I’d still enjoy them now. 🤔
Love the honesty, gotta stick to your guns with how you feel! I’ve been on and off with Black Butler aswell, a lot of people love it but I’ve been finding the pacing situation a rough situation
Wow! I'm just getting around to commenting on this video. Ironically, these were all of the series I initially enjoyed, but inhauled after a re-read. The incest theme and the ending were the main reasons I unhauled Vampire Knight as well. Pureblood vampires had to remain "pure" by in-breeding...hence Kaname and Yuki...😑 As for Fushigi Yugi, I enjoyed the prequel series Genbu Gaiden much better than the original. However, after a re-read last year, the story felt like "trauma porn" to me, so I unhauled that series as well. Great video! 🔥🔥🔥
@@maeve_ever_manga I consider Byakko the best in the trilogy, also. I've recently learned that Yuu Watase returned to working on Byakko Senki in April/May of this year. Therefore, we may see a Volume 2 release soon! 😄
FY I definitely want to reread at some point. I have the anime if the dvds still work from moving so many times lol I may check out the anime Peach Girl I reread last year along side Hot Gimmick. Oh boy was that a ride. Ended up hating both with a passion! I will keep both as they are so nostalgic and some of my first manga ever. I hated Peach Girl mostly cause Mo was so toxic herself. Just cause someone is treating you bad doesn’t mean you have to go to the extremes that she did. I was honestly about to say funny talking about rereading because my friend and me are doing a rereading of our favorites to see if they hold up… than I remembered you were that friend hahaha I never claimed to be smart ❤

Black Butler series are way too long and it’s still going. I don’t have the room for such a long series. But, I’ll watch the anime 😉.. Good for you that you are letting go things that doesn’t bring happiness into your life👍🏽

With all the mixed things I've heard about Ouran, I have never been super eager to rush out and read it, even though I'm curious about it! I second about best friends that best friends should NEVER be bullies! They should be one of your biggest fans in your life! Really enjoyed hearing your thoughts! 7th Time Loop and Tearmoon Empire were both I didn't like the first time I read them only to give it a second chance and deeply enjoyed both!!

I’m completely biased when it comes to Ouran but I understand that it’s not for everyone😅 For me I used to love Mha and Inuyasha, too long and I lost interest towards the end
I feel like One Piece is the type of anime that is meant to have a lot of episodes as it is very world building and has a very grandioso world to it, and I would say each arc has its purpose . But I could be wrong as I am a One Piece glazer lol
I've only been reading manga for about 9yrs (I was 89 when I started) so I don't have any titles to mention. Anime: Loved "Darker Than Black". Watched it again last year and it was terrible.
I don't know about cause i haven't read the manga Vampire Knight, but I definitely enjoy the anime. But not because it's good, I thoroughly enjoy it because it's GARBAGE 😂 That story is just sins on top of sins and I really can't fathom why someone thought to write it, but they sure did anyways 🎉😂🤣

The MC, she absolutely gets into an incestuous relationship with her brother (in fact, what's even better, is that she's involved in a love triangle between her, her brother and her adopted brother 🤣) The stans just be trying to find a way to defend the indefensible cause they actually take the story seriously and unironically enjoy it😆 ...and since that's clearly not why I enjoy this trainwreck series, I can be honest about it without feeling defensively embarrassed.

I get that this is your collection and that you are free to enjoy whatever you like, but not liking a series anymore because of an age difference seems kinda petty to me. Just my opinion.

I think it’s great that we all have different opinions on things and we can all love both similar and different things! 💕 It would be incredibly boring if we all loved and hated the exact same things.
Not sure if it's just me, but when I was younger I didn't really mind or think much about age gab relationships in stories, but as I got older it's something I'm much more uncomfortable with. So I don't think it's weird or petty to change your view on things like that. It doesn't always automatically mean I don't like a series or a story if it has it but getting older definitely gave me a very different way of looking at it.
