When that boss came out with the giant two headed monster mount... that can fly... and breathes fire. 12 minutes into the game. Yeah, now it's a soulslike

It'd be cool if you needed to use your lantern and soul whip against the boss. Like you assume it's just about dodging its attacks and attacking when it's *visible.* But really you have to use the lantern when it uses its portal, which lets you see it traveling through the sky to the next portal, and then you use the whip to pull it out of the magic realm to the ground, which stuns it and lets you get in your hits.
It seems like this game took a lot of "inspiration" from FromSoft's titles. That's opening it up to critiques and comparisons to FromSoft's game design. Like how the riposte mechanic doesn't look like it really impacts enemies in the same satisfying way.
Just like everyone else already noticed: audio and hit weight must be fixed. Other than that looks like first real souls competitor... so far not even a single game came any close to FS souls series.
In terms of gameplay and feel? Yes In terms of dark fantasy the world is in a shitty state of decay or anything similar? No Not bashing praises for Fromsoft inspiring others but some people overhyped their "inspiration", not only that, Fromsoft themselves haven't created anything original after their core gameplay feel from Demon Souls/Dark Souls depending on what you see as the one that truly centralized the feel Only thing close to new was Sekiro, which to me is still Fromsofts best game

This dual world mechanic reminds me of soul reaver. You could switch between the world of the dead and the living to access different areas.
