What could be more wonderful and amazing than enjoying a day the Lord has made and appreciating the hard work and creativity of a fellow desert dweller! May God be in your heart and soul.
This is ffwd so fast it makes it seem like it's way shorter than it actually is. Real life isn't this fast or easy haha. You are doing it right I'm sure.
Hurrah! Cool weather is here and time to drag out my furniture, check if my sander works and buy sandpaper, buy stipper and any other tools I need, and get to fixing up the family antiques!
I do so wish my husband was alive because I really think he would enjoy doing this with me. He’s been gone 14 years now and me at almost 67 am having to move a one bedroom apartment so I won’t be able to do work on furniture 😢. On a good note I still can do my crafting ❤️❤️
You are such a talented angel. I’ve loved everything you do for years! You have made such a gorgeous home! You and your sweet husband and children are blessed to have you as a mommy 🙏🏻♥️
The dining room table is beautiful, however I've learned to fill in the cracks. One spill of milk and food it's awful digging out the cracks. Then the milk never seems to come out then it smells of spoiled milk. I love your work , you have a definite artistic talent.
I wish you had to cut that headboard off. If you would add a door underneath it it would’ve made a fantastic headboard. One of those tall ones. Been wonderful. Try to try sometime.
Would have liked to see the embellishments on the hutch re- attached. When adding trim to fabric I always start in the middle of back and go around never on an edge corner.
Nice I can't wait to see your store. I had an idea of putting those peel and stick backsplash on some of my bureau drawers they have so many cool designs. I can't find any people that have done that on youtube yet just the wallpaper and contact paper.
Enjoyed this video! Everything was beautifully done. Also enjoyed seeing your husband working with you. Y’all are a team which is remarkable. The music was very well selected and I enjoyed it!!! Ty for sharing your amazing talent and creativity.
Awesome work. You are so talented. I love seeing your little one assist you. Takes me back to when my boys were little. They loved to "help" me on all of my projects. Good memories ❤
I had to watch this twice !! You have such a great eye ! I really love that light green color you painted the hutch. It reminds me that milky green vintage glass😍 the funny thing is my style is quite different from that but I still love it- it came out so stunningly opposite from where it started. It also went from being a traditional dark wood piece to a show stopper - you also chose such beautiful pulls and knobs for it ! I loved so many of your projects but that one really stood out because it’s not a traditional furniture color and I absolutely love it❤
I so glad to hear that! I think that it's really cool that people can have totally different styles but still be able to find the same things beautiful.
That decapod Piper would’ve been wonderful inside there. It would’ve been fine and not too thick. You got to learn to use that really make a difference.
Yes I have done some room makeovers and I have a house tour from when I first moved in. I need to finish some projects and then I'll do some updated room tours.
Such a resourceful, talented, cute family team turning out beautiful work, one after the other. Just wear eye goggles too when you spray because the respirator protects your lungs but your eyes have blood vessels that will absorb the bad chemicals, even outdoors. And if it saturates your hair and clothes, you’ll end up breathing it in later.
Hi I'm new here and wanna say your stuff is super pretty!! How do you know how to do all this? I have a few things I been wanting to do something with but I'm unsure what to do. The one has some ridges with blemishes so I'm stuck on that. Is there any video's where you explain what you use and what why? Like the shilac and I think in the first project you built up the top of the stands color :/ I'm lost lol SEND HELP 😂
I love watching this stuff! With the cost of new furniture.... outrageous.... it's a wonderful thing to find a good strong piece of old furniture and make it new again. I hunted a new coffee table....for a couple months. What flimsy partical board....fake wood. I just finished redoing the beautiful ling one i had, painted it a lovely off white....followed my Shabby Chic..... it's gorgeous! Thanks for the inspiration 🤗🌄 Ps...i found one coffee table that was "distressed pine"....for $600.... I wish i was kidding. It looked sad... like a table left too long in a damp, leaking shed.....come on people...Ha.
@@DesertDIY Thanks! Let's keep on making the beautiful old...new again. In a world where disposable is thankfully becoming less acceptable, let's appreciate the pieces that have served us well. 🤗🍂
Hi I have a very old chest of draws that have numerous coats of emulsion paint o n them what is the best way to get them back to the original wood? Thanks
The best way to remove thick layers of paint is to use a gel paint stripper. Apply it very thick with an old cruddy brush that you are going to throw away and then wrap with saran wrap to keep it from drying. come back and check every 30 min or so. repeat the process until you get down to wood.
I have always loved your style but why would you ruin that beautiful white mirror with those seashells? I hope I haven’t hurt your feelings but I wouldn’t be one of your biggest supporters if I wasn’t honest with you.
It's a new way it's a new day, please could someone tell me who sings that please and the girl after that. I just want to say thank you so much. I love your artwork and you've really considered your audience in the music you have chosen. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you!!
@@DesertDIY thank you so much. The artwork it's self is why I watch. I think your fantastic I really do. I was just moved by the music and so grateful for your choice of playlist. Honestly it felt somewhat like a calling 😂 I feel stupid now for overstating but it's ok. No one knows me irl 😂 already looking forward to see more!! I will have a ponder of the website 🙏❤️
I love how the fam helped with the coffee table. So cute!
You are the very FIRST person to say PLEASE subscribe….so I did….Thankyou hugs carolyn from Columbus Georgia

You made those pieces of furniture delightfully cute.

You did wonderful work on all your pieces. The little hutch is my favorite.
Thank you Debra
The hutch is gorgeous ❤
Thank you Charlene!
I don't know how you paint those items like that. You make it look so easy. But when I do it it's hard work. Wow i'm impressed
This is ffwd so fast it makes it seem like it's way shorter than it actually is. Real life isn't this fast or easy haha. You are doing it right I'm sure.
I have the small hutch but mine is in much better condition and I love it. You do great. Work

You're right haha!
I love your piper and little nino too
Totally amazing make overs!! You are very talented. I loved them all
Man, I gotta try that mineral paint! Goes on flawlessly!
It's thinner so it is able to lay flatter

It amazes me how you can paint on your carpet and not get any paint on it.
Haha it takes practice
@tara How’s the weather in Scotland and whereabouts are you?
Great great great
I loved all your projects except the mirror painting it was good but seashells was a mistake.
I liked the bedside cabinet but you need to show the products you use better
Would it Beto invasive to show the inside of your house?
Does the shellac help with bleed through? Thank you.
Absolutely! It's the only product that does

It would pay you to learn how to decapod that would come in handy for a lot of your furniture. Give it a try it’s fine.
Do you mean decoupage?
What sealer are you using?
I would have a mess painting in my house.

You could also try a heat gun. It may be faster and less messy.
Coffee table was too much white for me
Hi what did you put on the table after you stained it
Polyurethane
How much can you spray with a can of shellac? Curious to know as a can is $30 plus in my area. Seems steep.
Do you mean a small spray can of shellac is $30? They are $9 at home improvement stores usually
No, seriously that is what the can you used is, 340 grams. I am in Ontario Canada. $32.35 at home depot. That's $24.16 US. I am so envious.
wow. That is really sad, honestly. An alternative you can use is clear enamel spray.
I have always loved your style but why would you ruin that beautiful white mirror with those seashells? I hope I haven’t hurt your feelings but I wouldn’t be one of your biggest supporters if I wasn’t honest with you.
