Don't bother planting any melons now as they take 12 days to grow and you don't have enough time, the months only last 28 days. Save some of your resources for farm buildings as you'll need more items for the community centre bundles (unless you are going the joja mart route) I'm a mobile player so I'm still on version 1.5 I'm waiting for the update 😢 but it'll be fun to see some new gameplay
