Gear in EQ can be such a confusing thing and I feel noobs/returning players get confused and just quit because of it. This is also a "soft" leveling guide, in a way, also....bonus!
I'd mention the importance of the Enhanced Minion items to pet classes as part of the essentials in getting gear as you level. As a player that plays pet classes 99% of the time I make it my goal to upgrade that item at the cost of all else! (even for necros) Necromancers, mages, and beastlords are the real "pet classes" and really need this upgrade to stay as current as possible.
A good place for gear, also, is the Gnome Memorial Mountain gear. (GMM) That many see as a bridge that makes up for the harder to get Burning Lands gear. The em earring, for pet classes, is em21 and tradeable. I have one on my alt mage currently until I get him the ToV T3 earring that is em22. Enhanced Minion is so important to me that if I get behind (like 2-3 xpacs) for that group level gear I'll spend the $18 to grab a krono to get a fast plat boost in order to catch that 1 slot up. It's that important!...IMO.

Thanks, I cover GMM in my 75 to 115 video. I couldn't complete darkness howls until 110 since I skipped conflagrant/burning lands. I also ran that mission probably 30-40 times and never got the EM earring that Alla/EQR says drops. So my mage waited from 95 to 110/115 for an earring upgrade it was pretty bad.
I hope to cover more of burning lands with Nomeregard. I also have another video that is more subjective on Augs I am working on.

Thank you for the video. I would say that the EoK T2 armor (Amorphous Selrach) is worth getting because there is no cost to creating the armor, you just right-click on the piece and you have your class-specific armor.

You're on the bristlebane server? I think most of this stuff is tradeable on FV. My tank is in full snowsqual armor and it was given to him...after I bought all the containers...lol
Yeah FV has fully tradable gear. More work on the other servers =P

TBL Weeping can be worn at 105... for me it was also easier to find than conflag.

I used to true 3box bard, necro, & mage. I wish EQ still had that same magic for me.

Once you hit 85... Use a ranger to level up to 115. Before the exp nerf in FM it took just under 10 hours but now 3 days maybe 26 hrs. Dont bother with gear past 60 if ya can do this. Just save for snowbound or ore based gear

Yeah FV is a special case compared to all other servers except those 2 TLP with the same ruleset. For the most part they are not tradable.

@@hammackj hmmmm what’s a good server back in the day I played on I believe fieona vi an rp server only one character. But open just want a good active community and if I dl the game I was thinking Druid or wizard dunno
FV is highly populated, Bristlebane is another highly populated server. If you are looking for the grouping game, the current TLP Mischief would be the best bet. Someone on stream told me there are tons of groups.

Is EQ as pay to win as EQ2 is nowadays? I was giving some thought to giving EQ another shot (I tried back during like SF days in EQ2, but was into EQ2 too much back then), but I know my friend was playing EQ2 the past year or 2, and he just quit like 2 months ago because they make endgame raids exclusively for whales nowadays... It's depressing man, double your DPS by paying $2,000 to get a single item you can only get from loot boxes.
Not at all; EQ 1 store is like 99% cosmetics. They have some services like more character slots, race changes, name changes, bank slots, some potions for exp and stuff. They have some cosmetic crates that have "transmog" style things and pet illusions/etc. I haven't seen anything that would be major dps increases that only come from loot crates. I mostly ignore the store after I get my monthly 500 credits. They do sell bags also which you can ignore as you can obtain plenty of 40 slot bags in game.
The best loot in the game comes from current tier raids and the second best loot comes from end game group missions + tradeskills. On my server Bristlebane I always see people recruiting for guilds for raids/etc, and more and more people seem to be coming back everyday.
These toons F2p? or Are you Golding them?
Most of my characters are gold, I have a few free to play but a true f2p character without any AA is so weak its painful.
conflagrant is great for pet armor
Pretty expensive. I just use mage armor when I remover to log my mage on to make some. Farming old zones vs wasting overseer on the mats it. On my server I still sell pieces for 20-100k each. I’ll do a test and see if I can spot a diff between 120 mage armor and 105 conflagrat armor.
you should tell ppl that you cant get the tov armor with out a group of lvl 115 to get you in there
T1 is buyable. Fairly cheap on some servers. Necros can solo named in EW and WW at 115. The group missions would require a group but the t1 armor in most expansions is fairly accessible.

Some classes can still use their epic 1 and 2. Sk bard and shaman have really good epic 2

Interesting take, how so? It is used as a catch up mechanic and really falls short IMO. It only really helps with 1-75, if that and at the point you can get mission armor. On live servers it is pretty hard to get a group 1-75 unless you box. So the armor helps players molo easier if anything. The armor doesn't drop past level 90 if I recall, which is pretty far from the level cap. The level 75/80 armor is horrible compared to the level 75/80 group gear from the Karana missions. I appreciate the feedback, I like hearing other points of view.
@@hammackj should say ruined the game for me... I like the struggle of finding gear but any of the old world stuff hardly matters ...its always the same shit for 75 to 80 levels . It's like they just copy paste gear scaling in stats . Also dont like the mercenaries but with the groups being so far and few and having no friends it's just necessary now. Just my opinion
Totally understandable. The difficulty in finding groups is the real struggle in the game at the moment for many people.

@@hammackj defiant gear made the first 75 levs irrelavent. for the most part 2 pieces of gear have the stats of a full set of raid gear from back in the day...you have to try to die before 75.
I love watching EQ content and I don't want you to hate me but I have to do this.
