Hey Sam, I just passed my NCLE practical and I just wanted to let you know that your content is the best content on the web to study this material. Your videos and teaching style of making things make sense is just their best man. You are helping so many people and I have been and will continue to share your videos . Keep rocking on man 🎸
Hey! I know I did a video on this and other fitting techniques but I couldn’t find which one! I may end up putting up another. Thank you for watching 😊
A STEEPER base curve will have a SHORTER radius of curvature (ex. 8.3 vs. 8.7) and will be a STRONGER diopter strength (think K’s) ex. 48.00 is stronger than 44.00 Hope that helps!
So these means Diameter increase is tighter - steep Diameter decrease is loose - flat Base curve increase is loose - flat Base curve decrease is tight- steep? I’m confused 🥴
Hey! Base curves don’t increase or decrease, they steepen or flatten. A steeper BC fits tighter, a flatter BC fits looser. 8.3 is steeper than 8.7 8.7 is steeper than 8.8 Or you can see BC as a K reading: 46.00 is steeper than 43.00 40.00 is steeper than 39.00 A BC increasing as a (mm) radius of curvature (ex. 8.3 to 8.7) is getting flatter. A BC increasing as a K reading (ex. 42 to 45) is getting steeper. Hope that helpsssssssss
I want to ask you something Last year I went to make my NCLE and I remember this question that I didn’t understand It was about a patient with the bandage eye Sorry something like that if you knew please let me know , Thanks 🙏
Bandage contact lenses are sometimes used to protect the cornea. It is a lens with no power that acts as a shield. For example, some providers may place a bandage lens on a patient with a corneal ulcer to prevent further damage.

Hey Jeff!
CONGRATS!!! That is a huge accomplishment. I truly appreciate your kind words 🙂
Correct 💯
I just would like to say thank you . I took my ncle today and passed . I watched some of your videos and they were very helpful !
Way to go! Thank you for sharing. Time to celebrate 🎉🥳👏🏼
Any videos on how to determine a lid attachment rx?

Thanks so much for the easy way explanation! I was struggling to get that point.
I am so glad that the videos were helpful! 😁
What’s this SSS rule with GPs?

Hey!
Base curves don’t increase or decrease, they steepen or flatten.
A steeper BC fits tighter, a flatter BC fits looser.
8.3 is steeper than 8.7
8.7 is steeper than 8.8
Or you can see BC as a K reading:
46.00 is steeper than 43.00
40.00 is steeper than 39.00
A BC increasing as a (mm) radius of curvature (ex. 8.3 to 8.7) is getting flatter.
A BC increasing as a K reading (ex. 42 to 45) is getting steeper.
Hope that helpsssssssss
