I love Naruto and it will always be my top anime after Code Geass,but the reason One Piece outclassed Naruto is that only a handful of Characters could get a good story if made an anime but in One Piece Oda can find a way to make a seemingly meaningless character into a big part of the story.

HE IS ATTRACTIVE!! That’s the whole reason why you should like Law. 😂. I’m jk, for me that’s one of the reasons, he’s also really cool in my opinion, he’s so done with everything which is a mood, his devil fruit powers are amazing, his voice is sexy, he has a good taste in clothing, he has cool tattoos, he’s smart, he’s strong, he loves his crew, he’s a badass, his smile can kill girls, he’s mysterious, and many other reasons as well. If I didn’t like Luffy this much, he would be my favorite character. I love Law entirely.
He's not attractive
Law is one of the most surprising character for me. I never imagine that he would get the amount of screen time that he got. Law spotlight in Punk Hazard and Dressrosa is equal or greater than the Strawhats in their main focus arcs. Never imagine that much focus on him, I always thought he would get something like what Capone got in WCI arc.
That being said I love Law character.
Agreed. I consider Law equally a main character along with the straw hats. Him, momo, Kinemon, and Carrot were a nice addition to the story. I like how they focus on characters outside of the straw hats, and give them meaning.

i thought he was reverse fanboying when sanji used the raid suit. by reverse fanboying, i mean he probably liked the heros in the Germa comics, which is why he called sanji "Germa scum".
What made Law compelling to me from the get to was his obvious personality. He was the only supernova who saw Luffy doing dumb shit and smiled as a first reaction. He also is a good enough person that he detests people who commit atrocities such as Kid or Doflamingo. He’s quiet and mysterious but he has a clear sense of humor, and it shines through a lot when he’s relaxed and not in a dire situation, he has a kind of dark amusement that contrasts really well with Luffy. He just seems like a good, cool guy. And I don’t think there have been too many people with his kind of personality in the series.
We have seen the mysterious, we have seen the funny, he’s is both.
Legit when he first showed up in the manga I was like “oh....this guy is dope as fuck.”

Law is such an easy to like character. Cool demeanor, great backstory, awesome powers and attacks, amazing design etc. Easily one of my favorite characters.
I really liked Law even at Saboody.

I was really hoping to see more of him later in the series.

Not at all surprised by this. The guy has one of the coolest character designs from Oda ever, has an awesomely unique Devil Fruit Ability, plays a major roll post time skip, with a fully fleshed out back story on the same level as most of the Straw Hat crew, and is an all around cool/chill guy in terms of his attitude, only letting people like Luffy get to him from time to time LMAO. He almost feels like a fusion of Luffy and Zoro together and could easily carry a series on his own. Here's hoping he continues to remain in the spotlight (as he will never officially join the straw hats as a member of their crew) going forward
After reading chapter 1000. I think luffy and the other 4 will take down Kaido and Big Mom and they will get insane popularity. I think Law will stick around to uncover the meaning behind the will of D since he cares more about it than Luffy. Luffy is there to change the world as JoyBoy predicted

True that they're crew's design and powers need to be more fleshed out. Kid's crew helped take on 2 Yonkos in the New world and Law's crew had the distinction of being the crew of a Shigk Shikubu Shiki - a Warlord of the Sea

D'dhika Bepo wasn’t in much pain, he just had diarrhea while Zoro had a stomachache.
Cant ignore that Law also has one of the coolest names out of the Supernovas if you're going for easy style points. So Oda makes a really chill and cool-looking swordsman, names him after one of the largest naval battles ever fought, then makes him a Warlord, then makes him an ally to Luffy in an effort to take down an Emperor, then gives him a tragic backstory and reveals that he's also a "D" (Whilst also revealing he's also named after one of the most famous land battles of all time). Not hard to see why he's so popular.
The entire dressrosa arc, luffy ran carrying law in his arms and I still wonder why people didn't subscribe to glr to have the one piece content directly in their feed.
Law is the most stylish, cool and badass Surgeon I've ever seen. He is Smart and has good personality.

4:53 not to throw around conspiracy theories, but I have read rumours (that I have yet to see confirmed) that for that poll, Luffy's votes were added together with the votes that his alter ego for the Dressrosa arena "Lucy" received, because otherwise he would have lost that number 1 spot to Law, and that wouldn't have been good for marketing or whatever.
No idea if this is true, but it is telling how believable it is. Law was CRAZY popular at the time, and still is all things considered.
Imagine if Oda created a second team to tell "episodes" of how the different supernova crews formed and how they became novas.
Essentially the first 30ish volumes of Luffy repurchased to see what the others were doing to make their names

I loved how law looked the moment he appeared, but more than that, I think he has THE coolest devil fruit power. I always look forward to seeing how he’s going to fight, and what he will do.
It goes beyond the standard “I have a fruit that makes me strong so I’m going to punch you to death” or “I have x element and now I’m gonna hit u with that” and instead uses very specific application and planning. Similar to the crazy array of applications that donflamingo displayed, but even those were just a all one step processes. Law’s power requires a multi step process to even be utilized, and I just think that’s really cool.
Didn’t think about it before now, but Law would be pretty hard to fight at sea even if he didn’t use a sub; when a navy ship attacks he just needs to be close enough for a room and he can flip the ship upside down.
He is as smooth as ever with the subscribe thingy.

It's weird to think about the fact that Oda came up with the Supernovas on a whim
Which means that Oda made one of his coolest designs ever without planning
What it was for me:
- Effective introduction and handling of his screentime in Sabaody that underlined him as a character holding a great potential and importance, along with Kid and Killer. Expected him to appear sooner or later, and, well... he stayed for three arcs, and he's set to have some more screentime soon (*eyes ch. 1063*). One of characters that definitely should appear in the final arc.
- Catching visual design and nature/demeanor. Yup, I love me some audacious, laid-back, intelligent and dangerous characters that are actually big softies underneath :D Insanely charismatic character straight from the Sabaody.
(basically I'm saying that he's an edgelord, but a very maturely written one and one that's pretty damn hot, so that's a pro.)
- One of best personal character arcs in the series, and one of best examples of how to have your main character influence another character without it being like your classic 'friendship therapy' (it... technically, it is, but it's done very well and deliberate). Very analysis-worthy character. So much trauma. Someone get this character a therapist please.
- Pretty interesting and badass Devil Fruit!
- DD-Healer combo.
- I dunno but I think he's better off staying like that, with no Conqueror Haki. Not that type of character to have one.
- He's a good example on how to write a 'rival' character to the MC type without it being really a rival - that's either Teach who works as a perfect antagonist by now, having the same goal but inverse core idea and aesthetics, or Kid, who's an inverse tone Luffy. This isn't a distinct classic dynamic, tbh, but it works pretty well and makes him a pretty likeable character because of his relationship with Luffy/Mugiwaras in general. Also yes, someone has to offer an in-plot outer reaction to Mugiwaras' shenanigans and underline how chaotic they are xD

Law I didn’t care for at first, but he’s one of my favorite parts of the new world in one piece. I just love how him, and Luffy are polar opposites, but have become such strong allies. I consider him a main character. I really wish his crew was given more attention though. I really want to see Bepo more, and see what he’s like.

I have a friend that is a super simp for him and she said “his pain is fan service” now that I rewatch punk hazard and everything after, she’s correct.
i remember when we first saw law on sabaody and he was immediately my favorite. then he showed up again in mf to save luffy. i was actually shocked to see a side character get that much focus because i know how oda is - many great characters, too little time - they never get much focus. i thought for sure mf was going to be the height of law's focus. then punk hazard & dressrosa happened. i couldn't believe a non-straw hat got so much focus, i still can't to this day. i'm not complaining though. law was my favorite and still is my favorite op character.
The reason he's so popular, because he's plans always works just ask Luffy.
This guy has enough going for him to be a main character and I love how he moves the plot forward, he feels like the guy who makes the big moves and the one who made the gears start to move in the new world.

If you don't know, there is a light novel with Law after Minion Island. It's very interesting
Very cool and recognizable voice in the anime. The overwhelming popularity of AOT and the character captain Levi from the series probably helped out a lot.

Law is one of favs . I've liked him since his intro to the story, loved him even more after punk hazard and dressrosa. Plus the bonus of his voice actor being the same as levi was the icing on the cake for me. (Yes I know I should say levi has the same VA as law but i started the OP journey late 2019 🙈)

I think its cuz out of all the Supernovas Law is clearly the most intelligent and perceptive, carries a cool vibe and level-headedness, is a member of the D line, in addition to an insanely strong DF. He's voiced by the same VA that did Levi from ATOT as well. He was already probably the most interesting supernova that wasn't a strawhat, but then when he saved Luffy at Marineford and teamed up with him later, it made everyone a fan

Gotta say that when I first read Sabaody 10 years ago, Law giving the finger and showing off his powers was enough to make me love the guy. Don't know if it was just my 14yo edgy phase, but Law just gave off a different vibe from the rest of the One Piece characters. Since then he's grown so much, still my #1 dude ;)

his popularity kinda makes me think of cloud strife(if we were to get amiibo costumes like super grand battle x i see law being cloud like how i see vivi being zelda,buggy with wario or boa hancock being bayonetta i feel something similar personality wise with the 2 since i could see a similar law-luffy dynamic with cloud and the other smash bros. characters like pit/palutena,kirby,the mario bros. or bayonetta.) with his slick design,hidden empathy that can come out as endearingly dorky at times and he does show a heart and soul of dressrosa(even imo way better than rebecca who felt superfluous by comparison and viola who i feel should've had a bit more instead.) with him having a more strategic zoro vibe and feeling like he's from a different shonen jump series.(kinda has me imagining ichigo or jotaro having a similar dynamic to luffy/the strawhats in a more interaction based shonen jump crossover.)

I’m not going to lie, I like characters that are not the strongest but there overpowered(like law), and I love his design a lay back person that has a terrible childhood, and is partially funny with the straw hats
I think it's around when the captain trio fought the marines outside the auction house, I found Law's devil fruit ability incredible.
I also like his bickering with Kid and Luffy (my instinct says BFF potential for this trio).
And his voice. Don't forget the voice. We got the cool guy design AND they choose the perfect voice for this chara *chef's kiss*
Law has been my favorite character since he was first introduced. Originally it was because I loved his Devil Fruit power, but then his backstory came out and I was even more sold on him. I still look forward to seeing him in the show and rewatch his scenes constantly :3

It's the voice actor man the voice actor
He is the same person who voice acted for Levi in AOT and Levi is more popular than Eren and Mikasa
1) That definitely isn't the only reason dude. Even if he wasn't voiced by that guy, Law would still be severely badass!
2) Speaking of Laws voice actor, years ago, I was in the same room (no pun intended) as him, but at the time I didn't know that the Levi guy also voiced Law, so I didn't care about him. I still regret that to this day. 😭😭😭

Law's popularity was there even before he was introduced in the anime bro. Even in manga format he was popular.
