You missed a very important fact: The reason of Trafalgar Law's name. In 1805 there was a conflict known as the battle of Trafalgar that ultimately meant the end of the Spanish empire. Just as his actions meant the fall of the empire of DonQuixote Doflamingo (a Spanish themed villain).
This feels less like a “fact” and more like a serendipitous coincidence. I mean, he was probably named after the naval battle, because this is One Piece, but I doubt it was planned that he would have *any* connection to Doflamingo, let alone be integral to bringing down his empire, when he was created and named.
And also don't forget that what brought down the Spanish empire wasn't the brits but napoleon's empire since he lost patience with the spainairds - Just like how law intended to destroy SAD facilities so that kaido loses patience with doflamingo and attacks him
You could also add the fact about Law's submarine which is called the Polar Tang and tang is also a type of fish that has another name - *Surgeon* (tada!) fish. Also this fish is bright yellow, exactly like the Polar Tang
i think law was changed to an ally character after his immediate popularity, oda probably didnt want him to be a villian to be defeated and rarely seen after and instead have him be a major ongoing side character alongside the main crew
I love the tidbit that Oda basically improvised Law, showcasing that while certain elements of One Piece ARE set in stone (hence seeing connections from hundreds of chapters ago), some things aren't, and Oda can manage to make things work depending on the reaction to certain characters. I doubt Law would be in the position he is right now if he wasn't instantly one of the most popular characters in One Piece a mere few chapters after his debut.

Honestly? That's probably the only part I really regret about post time-skip Law; he isn't as playful anymore. Only time we saw a glimpse of that was when he fought Tashigi and when he told Chopper that he slices up the kids.

i think the bounty poster parallel with Bepo and Usopp is probably a subtle clue that Luffy and Law are linked in some way, which is later revealed to be the will of D. just some nice classic oda style foreshadowing.
It kinda occurred to me that it might've been a fo-pa to make Law into a good guy, cause now every fight he's involved in as an ally to the straw hats, Oda has to downplay how stupidly overpowered he actually should be. It's kinda like how in the Justice League cartoon, they had to find different ways to keep Superman uninvolved cause he would've just one-shot the majority of any antagonists.
trafalgar and Waterloo (water law?) are the two greatest defeats of a certain real life emperor. Both of Napoleons downfalls can be traced directly to these two battles. Also, the "Surgeon of Death"- epithet carries a disturbing similarity to the "Angel of Death" Joseph Mengele. This monster was the head doctor of the Auschwitz death camp, in which he performed horror movie- level experiments on prisoners, often involving surgery. I suppose Law's popularity ultimately made Oda change this character from a villain to a reluctant hero.

There's one character THAT REALLY MAKE ME VERY CURIOUS, even more curious than Dragon, Imu and some others. Grand Line Review, can you make a video about Heracles'n?
I honestly feel like everyone should keep an eye on him. We still don't know what he is actually scheming. And I love the contrast of him, Luffy and Kidd. Because Kidd looks like he's already on the dark side so he makes Law sneaking around and interrogating look less questionable.
The reason the heart pirates symbol is so close but similar to me implied laws is smiling because he’s a D and doflamingo is a smile crossed out because the Ds and joyboy more specifically are his natural enemy
Definitely recommend people checking out Randy Troy's theory video on why Law is part of Sword, it is one of the best theories out there and his analysis is top tier.
@@silversauceran Kinda makes sense, but main theme of one piece is that will of great people lives on in the people that admire them and thus it would narratively make sense why he would join sword. And also that guy explains what Sword exactly could be and it goals doesn't exactly align with marines and is opposed to the WG.
Imagine if Law used his title as Warlord to make the Marines teach him Rokushiki Techniques during the 2 year time skip…. Would have made him more OP character and cool to watch in my opinion.
I think the speculation that Law was meant to be an overt antagonist is super overblown by the fandom but I also enjoy the idea that him being a weird freak in Sabaody is the direct result of him being smacked on the highest quality shit available on the grand line
I actually thought law was hella more cheerful in sabaody arc to the point where he kinda looked evil. He was grinning most of the time during the auction😂 but for some reason i really felt some fascination towards him even compared to Kid. Like honestly he and jewellery Bonny were the most interesting appearance and character wise. I for one am glad Oda went and made him an ally and a big part of post time skip arc. I still feel he could have made him even more bad ass and given him a more interesting crew. He is now my fav character and I've read the Law novel which gives another view on Law's backstory aside from the one from Flevance till corazons death.
Law’s character design alone piques interest. I saw a picture of the Supernova once and that guy with the fluffy hat and gloomy stached face interest me the most and I was like… mm I should start catching up. Tho I didn’t until my brother did and saw him enjoying One Piece a lot.
I really liked Law when he first appeared I liked him so much that my sister bought a Trafalgar Law hoodie which is the same one he wears pre time skip. But Law is definitely my favourite None strawhat crew member but yet I also still love Bon clay...I miss him.
I think that the reason why Law was presented as villian before time skip is because he was working under Doflamingo. But once he met Luffy, he decided to fulfill his lifetime wish to revenge on Mingo. I really hope they continue their alliance till Raftel. Luffy wants to become King and Law wants to know the Will of D. It might happen i really hope so.

There's one character THAT REALLY MAKE ME VERY CURIOUS, even more curious than Dragon, Imu and some others. Grand Line Review, can you make a video about Heracles'n?
Actually, yeah. What's up with that dude?
Yeah he's great
Because he'd have to introduce himself as Liam'n, and that is weird to say.
"You can't see the whole picture until you look at it from the outside." - Trafalgar D. Water Law
I honestly feel like everyone should keep an eye on him. We still don't know what he is actually scheming. And I love the contrast of him, Luffy and Kidd. Because Kidd looks like he's already on the dark side so he makes Law sneaking around and interrogating look less questionable.
Law as a villian would be twice as busted.
The teleport them downstairs bit on wano made law my favorite character and any im not your subordinate scene or any time kid teases law
The reason the heart pirates symbol is so close but similar to me implied laws is smiling because he’s a D and doflamingo is a smile crossed out because the Ds and joyboy more specifically are his natural enemy
I'm a simple man. I see Law, I click on!
5:43 BRO I WATCHED THE DR. HEART STEALER SONG RIGHT BEFORE I CLICKED ON THIS VIDEO
I’m sticking to my theory - Law is going to be the final villain. Pirate king luffy vs king of the world government law
Definitely recommend people checking out Randy Troy's theory video on why Law is part of Sword, it is one of the best theories out there and his analysis is top tier.
Would make more sense if Law was secretly a revolutionary because he hates the WG and Marines
I love Trafalgar Law appreciation day
i think Rosinante is an honorary D. a defected celestial dragon, he saved law to protect the will of D, and died with a smile on his face.
“Mandatory Trafalgar Law appreciation day” This is my new favorite holiday by far.
Imagine if Law used his title as Warlord to make the Marines teach him Rokushiki Techniques during the 2 year time skip…. Would have made him more OP character and cool to watch in my opinion.
He switched to a "navy" blue coat. . . My inner Randy Troy just triggered. His video on Law being a marine is solid.
I think the speculation that Law was meant to be an overt antagonist is super overblown by the fandom but I also enjoy the idea that him being a weird freak in Sabaody is the direct result of him being smacked on the highest quality shit available on the grand line
You missed the fact that law is the most popular Princess in one piece
Your games are getting even more hilarious pls continue them
I actually thought law was hella more cheerful in sabaody arc to the point where he kinda looked evil.
My favourite one piece youtuber making a video about my favourite one piece character.
*Ahhh my day is made*
best character of the post timeskip
What do you mean he was meant to be a bad guy. He’s a pirate! The navy tells me all pirates are bad guys
THE NAVY IS JUSTICE, PIRATES ARE EVIL SCUM!
Navy are bad guys anyway, imagine destroy the whole island just because they know your secret 💀
Trafal-Gal is more canon now than ever
Law’s character design alone piques interest. I saw a picture of the Supernova once and that guy with the fluffy hat and gloomy stached face interest me the most and I was like… mm I should start catching up. Tho I didn’t until my brother did and saw him enjoying One Piece a lot.
I really liked Law when he first appeared I liked him so much that my sister bought a Trafalgar Law hoodie which is the same one he wears pre time skip. But Law is definitely my favourite None strawhat crew member but yet I also still love Bon clay...I miss him.
WOOOOO HAPPY TRAFALGAR LAW APPRECIATION DAY!
I want to see Law's cursed sword in action
GLR about Law: Giving the impression in being super serious, mature man thing.
Alcina Dimitrescu: I see you're one of my people.
that sanji namji zorji and luffji part had me dying HAHAHAHA
Could certainly see Law hitting the Straw Hats with a "Oh you thought I was helping you?....you were helping ME!" Twist after Wano.
You learn Law dislikes bread at the end of punk hazard when he tells luffy that he doesn’t like bread
One of the main reasons a lot of Anime watchers liked Law is because of his voice actor in the Dub! Jotaro's voice actor too
