i just want to point out how even though the vampire king had been wearing the crown for a while now. he hasn't gone mad. he doesn't even have symptoms. he has an ungodly level of power its unreal the only reason the vampire was killed was because he let Marcelene kill him. in the orginal adventure time he was about to destroy the candy kingdom and he has the power to simply shrug of the effects of the crown. the same crown that made ice king go mad for 1000 years. granted we have no idea how long he has been wearing that thing. but for all we know it could have been hundreds of years. and the idea that he can simply shrug it off is astounding
also i just want to point out that it took original Gunther seconds to go mad and it took Simon months to go mad and he wasn't even wearing it most of the time. and vampire king could been wearing it for hundreds of years.

Fionna stoping Cake from confronting VK upsets me on a whole other level because she doesnt understand Cake is an absolute powerhouse who can be stopped by very few things. With a little more training on how to use her power, i'm pretty sure Cake not only could've taken the crown, but also help PB, get everyone out and probably win the whole battle.

Your probably right about Cake and the crown, but the problem is that Fionna is a normal girl with normal fears, and Cake has forever been her cat. This isn't like Finn and Jake where they're used to this type of stuff and have the confidence and trust in the other to see this type of stuff through and be relatively safe afterwards. Fionna is literally having her dreams of wanting to experience Magic crushed in more and more traumatic ways, and atp, it's no surprise that she's prioritizing safety over everything, even when that prioritization can potentially ruin whatever is happening in the moment
Even if they got the crown off there was still dozens of vampires to take out added with the fact the king is still just as powerful without the crown on, which we don't even see him really using it's power all that often as he seems to just wear it for cosmetic purposes There was definitely great odds of things going wrong

All that said, I'm pretty sure Cake can deal with most vamps, just not Marcy (because she's more of a demon than a vamp) and VK (because he's broken).
I think cake finds the vampire king hot because: 1.- he kinda is (? although that's subjective and 2.- the vampire king is some sort of lion as we see at the end of stakes wich is a feline just like cake

Before the events of the show, Fionna had only dreamed about living in a world of fantasy, she’d still been grounded in reality while Finn grew up in Ooo since he was a baby. She gets outshined by her cat because even Cake is more magical than her. Simon is more useful because he still has lived in a world of magic and has wielded some of the most powerful magic in his universe. At the end of the day, Fionna is just a human. She isn’t a fighter and she isn’t infallible. She went from cutting up rotten banana people to watching vampires brutalize people right before her eyes in like a day. While stopping Cake from taking the crown was the wrong call - it came from a place of care. For comparison, Finn and Jake are practically brothers, not owner and pet. Cake is still Fionna’s cat and will always be Fionna’s cat to her, regardless of if she can stretch and talk.
