Whatever money the Andhra Pradesh (AP) government spends on Amaravati benefits less than 25% of the AP economy, while 75% goes to waste. This approach isn’t sustainable. CBN needs to be cautious and avoid concentrating all of AP’s resources in one location for the benefit of a few to get speculative real estate prices in short term. If even half of that investment were directed toward Visakhapatnam (Vizag), the returns would be visible in a much shorter time. Even a country like the U.S. struggles to build new cities, and China’s attempts have resulted in ghost cities. Do you think a financially strained Andhra can succeed where they have struggled? We can’t, given our current situation. What CBN accomplished in Hyderabad was commendable, but the Amaravati project could backfire massively, taking decades to recover from the losses. I’m not sure JP fully understands the immense effort, resources, and time required to build an entirely new city. I would recommend build offices needed for govt operations and leave Amaravati as it is for now and take look at it when time comes, but this is not the time.
