The waterside district looks like a fun and vibrant place to check out, and nice to see all of the other great things to check out around the water too. I loved learning about the line sailor statue. I would love the maritime museum. So incredible to see the ships. The naval base cruise would be so interesting, but I’d also enjoy the dinner cruise I’m sure 😊 stripers waterside looks like a great place to eat! Beautiful views of the harbour. That crab dip looks incredible. Carolina cupcake looks great too I would love the cake pops! Fantastic video as always Jack and Alice! 😊💕
Norfolk Virginia is so beautiful. So many places and this to see in the waterside district! Amazing gardens, statues, port and restaurants. The food looked very delicious. The food prices were a little high. Thanks for sharing with us.
My stomping grounds. If you walk past the Pagoda, you get to the Freemason District, which is a historic neighborhood with cobblestone streets and some interesting shops and cafés. After that, you get to the Hauge canal, and from there its easy to get into the Neon District, Ghent which is full of things to do, and Chelsea, which is a square with multiple breweries and restaurants. The path from waterside to harbor park doesn't have much going for it yet other than the baseball stadium and amtrak station, but there is a casino planned for the future, and it is likely that an entertainment District of sorts will follow.
Norfolk has so much to offer and y’all seem to really do it justice hear. The battleship tour was amazing. We toured an aircraft carrier once. It was just as interesting. The gardens were lovely. You are at some nice places. Yes, everything has gotten expensive; including burgers. 😂. I’m like you though. They should not have changed the item on the menu without letting you know the change. Sometimes. You wonder about places and people like that, and how they stay in business. Yum fudge.
The food here was really good. As was the margarita flight. The Norfolk waterside area is such a great place to explore. We are glad you enjou our Virginia content - and we appreciate your support!
Looks like a really great district with so many attractions and nice restaurants 👌👌excellent travel guide guys, thanks so much for sharing, have a lovely week
Loved the Taiwanese Buildings, the Lone Sailor and the Ships. Those Cruise Ships are use. Great Port and Harbour. The Harbourside would be a great place to hang out. Great food choices and restaurants. The Fudge Factory sounds delicious. Thank you for taking us along. Have a great weel Alice and Jack. 🤠👍🏼🙏🏼♥
Very cool, neat seeing inside the ships! The margarita flight looked yummy! I think I would like that! Very cool place to explore. Nice area by the water.
Good morning! 🌟 Loved exploring Norfolk's Waterside District along with you in this video. The historical sites, naval base, and diverse attractions along the Cannonball Trail are enchanting. Your detailed insights on the restaurants and experiences added a personal touch. Thanks for the great tour! 👍
this place has everything, but they really need to bring back the “singing candy-makers” as advertised. that sounds like a highlight for visitors to the District. overall there is so much to see and do here appreciate your honest reviews ☺️ thanks for sharing ✨
The pagoda would be really fun to rent and have an event! Super cool to be able to go inside the ship! Love the mermaid statue! Thanks for the warning about taphouse! Great overview of the area!
I need a pagoda as a shed. This area looks so pretty and great pick of music. That battleship is bigger than my block. Can’t believe how much you covered. Yes - I’m a huge UFC fam so that bar is perfect. I couldn’t keep up with you on those margaritas. Those deserts look so good. I love fudge.
Awesome tour guys, when we think of Norfolk, here in England springs to mind, but your Norfolk looks very different! The Cannonball Trail looks really fun! Cheers, Simon and Elaine👍
It's a lovely Waterside District, Alice and Jack. We loved the Japanese Garden and Pagoda. Just seems unfitting though to not have the teas room anymore. Love soul food though! So many changes since we were first there. The crab cake sandwich looked wonderful! Sadly Jack, while I agree in spirt, I think with prices going the way it is, your going to have to raise the burger limit! No excuse though for making something different than what was ordered at the other place. We've experienced disappointments in places. But never that! Now bring on those cupcakes!
Waterside mall looks a lot different than I remember from its heyday in the late 1980s (when I was at ODU) . But I remember the areas around waterside being a lot scruffier and unfinished back then too. Norfolk has done some interesting stuff while I have been gone.
Lots of cool places to go in the waterside district! Thanks for the tour guys! Cruises would be fun! Food is usually expensive when you are close to some good views. Sucks that you had to wait for an order that was replaced lol that's bad waiter attitude.
Awesome video! This is a really nice, scenic place with so much to do. Love the garden! The museum and battle ship tours looked very interesting. Those are always fun. I didnt know cruise ships sailed out of Norfolk. I worked on a cruise ship as a dj way back, and am not sure if I could ever do a cruise, though we've toyed around with the idea a time or 2. The restaurant looked pretty nice, especially the appetizer. I would've personally gone for that fish sandwich. I really hope they comped you for bringing out the wrong dish. That can be frustrating. Even as awful of a server as I was way back in the day, no matter how much 🫕 I 🌬 before work (why I was so awful), I never did anything like that, though I would laugh uncontrollably at the guests at the table with bloodshot eyes. Yeah, that line of work wasn't for me. 😂😂😂😂 Anyways, this place looks like it's loads of fun. Thanks so much for sharing!
I was just looking up information on Norfolk's Waterside District online. Really enjoyed seeing your video. Enjoyed seeing them make the fudge. I found it highly unusual that the restaurant would make a change to dish before asking if it was ok to do so. Did they offer anything complimentary or a discount with this happening?
I was born at Portsmouth naval hospitand lived in this area.Myontana life and have never step foot in that place..... I have been on every ship of the Atlantic fleet working for the shipyards So maybe I didn't need to tour the Wisconsin.I was already working on them and you Have to admit that nautica's leave you wanted
I liked it better in the 80's there were a mixture of shops, botiques and restaurants as well as a variety of other entertainment. A little something for everyone even kids. Now unfortunately its just food, food and more food.
I wasn't living in the area in the 80s. But my husband was - and he agrees with you completely. He remembers his family hanging out at Waterside back in those days very fondly. I wish I could have seen it then. It does sound like it is unimpressive compared to what it used to be. Thanks so much for watching - and for taking the time to share your experiences with us!
Really cool things to see and do in the district! Another great vlog! -Joe&Sharon from RVentures 21

Interesting there's also Asian mixed features around the area.
Water features garden is always so soothing and relaxing.
