7 likes! I am joying the car show! I do LOVE cars!
Thanks a lot for joining again. I also do love cars. Sometimes I'm thinking in my previous life I either was a car or I drunk gasoline, lol
oh wow - Lancia Beta 1600 - my dad nearly bought one but even at the time the rumours about the rust problems meant he didn't in the end. Shame, always thought they were a nice looking car and super rare now
The Lancia Beta Berlina 1600 is really a rare piece. I also heard that these were rusting very early. I also find them looking really very nice. Design was really excellent - also very modern for the time when keeping in mind they were launched in 1972. But the design also reminds me a bit about the Citroen GS that launched 2 years earlier.
Is it me or is that S123 just perfect? Adore those wheels, I've always called them 'Bundt'?
The 2-door Taunus/Cortina looks great but I don't remember them being all that popular.
The S123 is really in a great condition. The 123 series has already kicked down the VW Beetle from #1 of the most popular classic car. So for around 2 years the 123 series is the most used classic car which is still on the roads in Germany. These wheels are called Baroque wheels over here. I like them a lot - but I know many people don't like them on their Mercedes cars although these have been very typical and were a popular choice.
My uncle once had a 2-door Ford Taunus but the TC2. But I can't remember about how popular they were.
@@BFDdrives Interesting. I suppose the 123 is a great classic choice. It's so well made and reliable that you could use it every day - I'm sure many owners do. There are many still around in the UK also, although a lot are being imported from South Africa and Japan. Thanks for the information on those wheels; they are a favourite style of mine.
