Taylor Beacon Tuner Demo from Peghead Nation

Taylor has introduced a new clip-on tuner. A clever multi-function tool, the Beacon includes several tuning modes, a metronome, two kinds of timers, and even a flashlight. Chargeable via USB, the unit also eliminates the need for batteries. In this video, Peghead Nation’s Teja Gerken demonstrates the Beacon.

Apparently, it uses an acoustic microphone rather than a vibration sensor. That could make it difficult to use in a noisy environment.

I like my Korg Sledgehammer, but USB charging will be persuasive next time I buy a tuner.
