    Great video Chad. Is the latency usable in a live band situation (ie Rehearsal) or does that wait for the inevitable card solution for the WING console. Assume that this does not come with any Wave plug ins or demos?

    • @AWTechTuesday
      @AWTechTuesday  Год назад +1

      I think that overall, it is usable live but that you may need to use the insert trick for vocals especially.
      You can demo the plugins and software for free for 7 days :)

    so that last bit about not hearing super rack in the IEMs is there a way to do that for all channels at once? or do you have to do it individually?

    • @AWTechTuesday
      @AWTechTuesday  4 месяца назад

      You can use inserts like in the video but only on a certain number of channels since you have a limited number of external insert slots available. You can also double-patch channels but, unless you only need a small number of channels, this can be very wasteful. Or you can get a separate console for monitors and send the unprocessed channels to that monitor console.

    Do i have to route all my input on usb because i can't take the risk of software crash, i prefer patch my drums and lead singer mic on usb and the rest of input will come directly from stage box, i haven't use superack on wings but i do on m32

    • @AWTechTuesday
      @AWTechTuesday  Год назад

      That’s why we set up those buttons to switch inputs. That said, no, you don’t have to send everything. Part of the reason I like to is to guarantee that all the channels are in sync with one another as SuperRack will introduce some latency to your channels. This is more of a big deal if you sent just the kick and snare but not the whole drum set but I prefer to do it with everything.

    Hey Chad, thanks for the Video. Is there a way that i can use Waves super rack Performer and simultaneously record / playback all the 40 Channels via Multitrack recording? cuz i would like to do the virtuell sound check to do the fine tuning after band is left. Thanks

    • @AWTechTuesday
      @AWTechTuesday  Год назад

      The best way that I have found is to utilize the SD Card slots that are built into the WING. Setup a scoped snapshot that only changes routing and sends audio to your USB from the Card instead for when you want to do a virtual soundcheck. Don’t forget to also make a scoped snapshot to reset your “live” routing as well :)

      @@AWTechTuesday Hi Chad
      I'm a volunteer at my local church, we are looking to incorporate waves into our behringer x32 system. I am able to route audio from the mixer to waves and back in to the console.
      Now my dilemma is how to send/route audio to a secondary PC that runs Vmix for our Livestream ( we currently use a matrix mix for our Livestream with the x-usb card)
      Thank you for the help and suggestions.

    • @AWTechTuesday
      @AWTechTuesday  6 месяцев назад

      @@gboyega unless you’re running VMix on the same computer as Waves, you aren’t going to be able to do that. Some alternatives:
      - setup an audio interface for VMix. Go from 2 analog outputs on your mixer to the VMix rig.
      - Or get a Dante card and send to VMix via Dante instead. Keep in mind that this will eat up 2 possible channels for Waves processing.

    Thx for the video . Question : My friend is using SuperRack performer on a Macbook Pro 2014 ( os big sure) with dante virtual soundcard and Sq5 usb but no audio is passing thru. We try with reaper to make sure and it works. We follow all the steps in SRP but no result. Any idea ? Thx

    • @AWTechTuesday
      @AWTechTuesday  10 месяцев назад

      If you’re recording on the same computer, you will either need to use a separate computer or someone like JACK Audio to route the recorded audio through to Waves.
      Here’s an old video demonstrating this process - m.ruclips.net/video/75pK5DcZTpk/видео.html

    • @ThePatboil
      @ThePatboil 10 месяцев назад

      We are not recording, we just use Reaper to comfirm that audio was going tru the computer via Dante or Hallen&Heat Sq5 usb. Everything is patched well in SuperRack Performer No audio is passing. I was wondering if we miss a step somewhere like drivers or something else.

    • @AWTechTuesday

      On the SQ, I suggest using tie lines to route your audio to the USB card directly from your pre-amps.

    Hi Chad, now that SP is priced comparably to LiveProfessor 2...do you have any thoughts on which platform may be better? LP2 looks like it allows you to also use non-Waves plugs as well, but the UI isn't as nice as SP.

    • @AWTechTuesday
      @AWTechTuesday  Год назад

      Great question. LP was nice enough to let me try their software a few years back. Maybe it was an issue with my computer (MacBook Pro), but it would crash constantly. I REALLY like the idea of having access to all of my plugins beyond Waves but there are only a couple that I have in mind.
      If they offer some sort of trial option, I’d test it out and see how it works with your rig. You can trial the Waves goodies for 7 days so test that out for sure :)

    • @AWTechTuesday
      @AWTechTuesday  Год назад

      I’m pretty sure that Wave Designer is a Rack Effect on the X32 but is in the compressor section on the Wing. Meaning that you don’t need to burn one of your FX Racks to utilize that plugin on the Wing :)

  • @chrisj5643

    Great video the external effect option is the best one but the bad thing about routings through the effects you only have 16 assignable options in your 40 channels.

      This is an old video and I haven’t tested this program recently, but this was the solution 5 years ago. May still work today. Another option is to add a Klark Teknik DN9630. With some sneaky routing, that can be used to route audio in and out of a multitrack recording.
      Hope that helps

    • @AWTechTuesday

      @@AWTechTuesday dang that’s decently high. Between plugins and 13 milliseconds do you think the latency for FOH would be bad? What’s the most latency you think you could get away with?

    • @AWTechTuesday
      @AWTechTuesday  Год назад +1

      @@kevindavis2332 the plugins I use the most have essentially no added latency (Waves F6, real-time Tune, CLA-2A, CLA-76). There is a meter that will tell you the latency per rack in samples or milliseconds. The latency for what the crowd hears will have very little impact on the sound at those levels. The impact on the musicians is the bigger issue. Usually, latency becomes noticeable around 20ms so we’re just below that in this situation. For those that can feel it, you can use the insert technique from the video but it adds complexity and can only be done for maybe 13 channels. If you’re using Waves Real-Time Tune, you will probably want to use the insert technique on those channels. For the other channels, communicate with your musicians and avoid plugins that add a ton of latency and see how it goes :)
      Btw, you can trial the plugins and Performer for a week before purchasing to make sure it’s a good fit for your team :)
