I always thought they’d somehow come back to ss3 and perfect it, the hair is still long but much shorter, and ki consumption isn’t as draining as before, but you still get the power and speed boost. This way it allows their further forms to be pushed to higher levels of strength as then ss3 becomes more heavily utilized and their higher forms benefit from a new stepping point in strength
I guess he can maintain it for longer since now under the tutelage of whis vegeta and goku don't release their energy anymore. Still it zaps your energy while in the form. Ss blue does zap your energy but only when transforming

But you can have a main character without them being literally the only person being the hero. Lots of anime have done this. Hunter x Hunter had Gon pretty much on the sidelines the entire chimera ant arc. The only time time Goku wasn't the main focus and savior of the world was when they fought cell.

As an artist, hair is simple to sketch. However, body parts that require severe anatomy practice ( Hands, feet, poses , different perspectives ) are difficult.
Non, hair is a pain to animate in motion though. Which is why it looked so bad when goku fought beerus in SSJ3 and was in motion. It looked God awful.

As in the ki consumption of SSJ3 puts Vegeta in danger.
One explanation that came to mind was the shift in emotion when each level of the transformations are used. When Goku first turned into a super saiyan, he was arguably more cocky and arrogant when fighting Frieza. He even went as far as to stay behind on a doomed planet. In super saiyan 2, he threatens the Supreme Kai when he doesn't agree with Goku giving in to fight Vegeta. If we take a look at the few times Goku has gone super saiyan 3, he has an entirely different personality. In Wrath of the Dragon, he tells trunks to stay out of the fight so that he can fight 1 on 1. Theoretically, if Vegeta were to use this transformation, we could argue that his fighting technique would greatly suffer from the arrogance that the form would induce. Vegeta is already full of pride and arrogance but super saiyan 3 would greatly increase it. This form would not only waste ki but in fact be a disadvantage to Vegeta who is already held back from his seriousness. Whis states that Vegeta always trails behind Goku because of how serious he is. Following that, Whis tells Goku he is too careless. In Conclusion, super saiyan 3 to Vegeta would leave him with an incredible disadvantage in any fight because of how much Ki it wastes and because of the personality effects it has.

I think originally, Super Saiyan was supposed to be an evil transformation that turns your eyes red as well. It's possible Toriyama still kept some of that for the SSJ forms and influenced their personality.
Forms like ssj3 tap into the saiyan within them. It's like a pure saiyan. If vegeta were able to control it and increase his form from a ssj3 base level he would be a monster
SSJ Goku against Freeza wasn't cocky and arrogant. He was PISSED. He wanted to break Freeza, not just in combat but also emotionally (hence the reason for letting him power up, since Goku knew he was going to win--and also the reason why he stopped, so that Freeza could live with the shame of losing to someone he hated so much and thus stop him from wanting to subjugate or kill ever again). He wanted Freeza to suffer for the rest of his life, and that's how he chose to do it.
Goku was SSj1 against the Supreme Kai.
As for SSj2? We only saw that against Vegeta, when trying to escape from Buu's planet-destroying ball (not long enough to make any difference), and against Kid Buu (in anime filler). Against Vegeta, his personality doesn't seem all that different from any other time, other than being upset about Vegeta going Majin and killing people, which doesn't seem to be relevant to the transformation, especially since Goku had mastered SSj2 by then.
As for Super Saiyan 3? I don't know about a different personality. His disposition was very serious, but might be because of his task at the time--stall Buu for Trunks to get the radar. He was only upset because it was taking so long. Against Buutenks, that was anime filler. Versus Kid Buu, he seemed to be just as sporting as he is at any other time in any other form--he told Vegeta that he could've defeated Buu, but let the fight drag on so he could fight as well.
So I'm not sure about personality changes.
I've had the theory that this form was easier for Goku to achieve due to being in Other World. The form burned out quick when Goku was first revived. However, I just can't help but feel that by the beginning of Dragon Ball Super that Goku had mastered the transformation. Sure, mastered SSJ3 probably still burns through ki pretty rapidly. Maybe not nearly as fast as when Goku was first revived though. Thoughtful video, nice!

Also, if you noticed, Vegeta is really a ki build. He uses ki attacks more than most of the Z Fighters. So why would he use a transformation that drains the ki and requires him to change his entire fighting style?

I was just supporting what you had said with that little statement. All you said was that he doesn't use such a useless form with such drawbacks, which is true. I was jut backing it up with the fact that he uses Ki more on average than anyone. It wasn't trying to bring in a whole new point. It was just working as backup.
Kai Kwon Fu He uses less ki because he is smart about his combat strategy. He won't waste his energy on a simple boost when another boost could do the job just as easily.

I think it's a balance thing. The charge time on ssj3 is insane. In a real combat setting, like the universal tournament, it's not good for endurance. It burns too much energy. I see it as Vegeta would rather charge his final flash, and use the energy cost as an attack, rather than a supplement of physical force, which he already excels at.
Tl;Dr version: He easily builds the energy required to acheive ssj3, but would rather weaponize it. Look at his final flash that he almost killed perfect cell with.
And they can optimize red, for energy savings, and blue for big hitting power as shown in the ToP with Hit/Dyspo/Goku battle

Conclusion: Vegeta won't ever go ssj3 not because he can't attain it but only because it drains your energy too quickly which is evident from the fact that gotenks fusion time was reduced drastically and goku could not even retain ssj3 while fighting kid buu.Tremendous power but only for a short amount of time is not good for a long battle.
And the fact that Goku didn't ever use it the in the ToP and told U6 saiyans as much; aside from the 10 seconds he popped into it to showcase to Kale/Caulifla. To much stamina drain to keep up effectively.
It's like an upgraded form of Super Saiyan Ultra (Grade 5(?)) only the speed is back but you've got a valve with no stop and you're blowing energy by the wayside.
Red/Blue was all about control and attempting to eliminate the leak of energy. Hence no need to go back. Even if they did it'd probably be Goku pushing SSJ3 into God Ki after the blue aura to infinity and beyond stacked with Kaio Ken or something like that.
Um no kid. At first super saiyan drain to much power too. It's about masterin it. Goku said he had only barley learned it ss3 in buu saga so it was hard to keep up. Gotenks barley learned it to. Like when frieza got golden form vegeta told him u barley got it huh your going to get tired soon

well you're also missing something else Vegeta could have gone SSJ3 in the fight against kid buu if you remember correctly, he fought kid buu being dead, and it is possible he could have unlocked the form and used it against kid buu but chose not to, and because of that he was completely outclassed by kid buu, goku is mostly a brawler while vegeta is a ki blaster.

Cool video and all. But tbh with Toriyama nature and track record of never really thinking so deeply about anything he does in dragon ball. If you ever ask him why he never showed Vegeta ssj3 he would give you the most simple and less complex answer it may be something like "I forgot and just let it be" or "It's too much work to do it for Goku already so I just didn't want to make my work harder" or answers that would get you ripping out your hair saying "give me back my time wasted trying to figure out why!!"

He doesn't do meetings or conventions or interviews because he knows he's going to be asked questions he doesn't want to answer. Especially when it comes to Vegeta. Vegeta can’t remain in SSJ3, there’s a time limit to it due to RAPID loss of stamina.
The dangerous reason is it's a waste of energy and cuts down how fast they can move due to the added bulk, explaining why Goku rarely uses it.
Thats ultra saiyan, the main reason is because it eats away at your ki so fast. Its a cool transformation but it takes a toll on the body.

Well for one Goku doesn’t fight all out right away. Also the difference between super saiyan and any other transformation is that super saiyan isn’t as draining. While ssj3 does.
Unless they unlock an SSJ3 version of god mode. Blue is the SSJ1 version of god mode, blue evolved is either the SSJ2 or SSJ1 mk.2 version of god mode. Whose to say there isnt a further one beyond it that produces SSJ3 like effects mixed with god ki?

vegeta didnt sacrifice himself for humans, he did it for bulma and trunks. He could care less about people.
Some good points raised, but I agree with one of the last things you mentioned, and I've always thought it was this way - Vegeta CAN go SSJ3 if he wanted to, he just doesn't. He couldn't at the end of the Buu saga, but by Super he would easily have raised his power enough to be able to do so, but as you said he sees using the transformation as pointless, especially once they learn how to use God ki.
With Caulifla, Kale and Cabba all going SSJ very quickly once learning how to do it, Dragon Ball shows us that as long as the saiyan has enough power, they can achieve the form if shown it - therefore it seems pretty obvious to assume that Vegeta could go SSJ3 if he wanted to.

You extrapolated on every nonsensical conjecture embedded into the plot, and completely ignored the most logical explanation.
First thing first: Vegeta was unaware the form existed, or could be achieved to begin with. When Vegeta learns Gokū withheld the ascended form during their most recent battle, he expresses his disappointment.
Second thing first: Necessity is the mother of invention. After discovering the form, at no point was Vegeta in a position to achieve the form himself. And, when he finally is able to pursue the form, it becomes obsolete due to the advent of the super saiyan god concept being introduced - which he achieves on his own. I believe it is implied that canonicaly Vegeta achieved the form of super saiyan blue before Goku.
All the other nonsense was irrelevant. Vegeta didn’t know it was a thing, and by the time he did, other more efficient techniques had been discovered rendering the entire form pointless. That is the most logical explanation, period.

"SS3" seems to be an incomplete transformation, like that bulky form that Trunks tried out against Cell. In that form, although Trunks had buffed his strength, it came at the cost of speed and agility; SS2 managed to retain that strength while also boosting speed. SS1 and SS2 are far more sustainable without ill effect, so I think "SS3" is something almost there but not quite right. It buffs strength and speed, but nerfs stamina. There ought to be a true SS3 without any obvious drawbacks.

I think one of the main reasons Vegeta has never gotten the super Saiyan 3 form is really because of how his character is written like you said he would never use a form that would hinder his fighting ability not to mention Vegeta likes to take his time and boast and brag while slowly torturing his opponents so if you did go super Saiyan 3 his showboating and grandstanding would inevitably cost him the fight.

The reason is because toriyama is lazy, even goku doesn't get a lot of screen time with ssj3, even in t.o.p (tournament of power), when he was fighting jiren the 1st time, he went into ssj, then 2, then skipped 3 to ssjg. It's because it's hard to animate the hair during fights

I hold heartedly agree with you my friend. I think this explanation best lays it out, but furthermore I also feel like it's because Vegeta is far more likely to dump all of his ki into one assault or at least one blast, Vegeta is far more tactical and likes to drag the fight out more then Goku does so yes super Saiyan 3 is obviously the last thing Vegeta would use in a fight considering how much energy it uses.

Yeah I overlooked that fact both times ssj3 was shown it was obtained in kinda weird circumstances one being the otherworld and The other being fusion like you said but what if this a theory of mine if goku and vegeta in the dragon ball super manga could master the stamina draining blue then it's in the realm of possibility to say that ssj3 can be mastered but it would take I imagine the way mastered would be achieved is through intense training and getting their bodies used to the form the same ssj grade 4 was obtained cause unlike with blue if goku tried to seal all his ki in his body with ssj3 like he did with mastered blue it would kill him but nice vid man keep it up

idk I think about it like this, ssj3 consumes incredible amounts of ki, when I think about most of Vegeta’s attacks and finishers, they are allllll ki blasts. I.e. Glaic gun, big bang, final flash so idk I feel like the form wouldn’t be beneficial for him. By the time he uses his ki in this form his stamina would be greatly reduced. Idk just my opinion please don’t hate me haha

I remember reading in an old magazine from the early 2000's that alternative forms that deviate from the classic look, such as cell saga bulky saiyan & buu saga ssj3 were never is the plan for Vegeta. Instead it made for better story telling & character development if they plagued him with possessed forms like Majin & silver baby hair that he needed to overcome. Whether that's true or not I can't argue with how things turned out.
Goku also says at one point that ssj3 he was struggling to keep his mind clear, if Vegeta did it, he might lose his mind and do something very dangerous
