Sound and Music - In Motion (Networking Days Highlights)

Step into the heart of our In Motion Networking Days, held at the University of Huddersfield. This inspiring event brought together the talented cohort of composers from In Motion, our flagship artist development programme, to explore their creative practices, connect with peers, and refine their strategies for engaging with audiences.
In Motion is an 18-month artist-led programme supporting 10 exceptional composers to design their own creative and professional journeys. Through bursaries, production grants, expert coaching, and networking opportunities, participants create new work, explore new contexts, and support the next generation of music creators on the In the Making programme.

The 2024 In Motion cohort hail from all over the UK, working across a wide range of genres including jazz, electronic, classical, experimental, folk, soul and punk. They are: Vicky Clarke, Damsel Elysium, Siteng, Sherry Davis, Namvula, Chihiro Ono, Medulasa, Owen Shiers, Raivo Sloan and SWEENEY.
Together their work will create a rich tapestry reflecting many of the most exciting elements of new music today. We are thrilled they have joined the programme and look forward to working alongside them on this next step in their creative practice.
