Today 10 December in Australia, I have the fire lit!! It’s 12°C. Strange for summer, yes? But I find such comfort having a fire lit. It IS like company, connection. Something relaxes in me. I hate hot weather and miss my fire in the hot months. So I’m grateful that today is cold and I can feel nurtured. 🤗
@user-cs5tj1fg1o you must be near Melbourne or Tessie! That’s cold for this time of year there! It’s so weird having moved and having the seasons I’m used to switched! Fires are soooo cosy to sit by!!
Thank you. You help others face and accept mental health, by being honest about your own. Showing us the little things that make your heart feel better. So many are envious of your lifestyle that YOU choose. Me included . One day I hope to get back to Salt Spring and explore more and bump into the little bit of sunshine called Flossy❤❤
@lindayoung2583 aaaww!! I try to do just that, and consciously show that sometimes those decisions aren’t always easy too! You’ll get there little decisions at a time!! 👏👏🤞
True friends accept you for who you are and truly know you. The internet is a platform where the truth is at times not spoken. Some people may use the internet to inflate their own ego and rest assured they never plan to meet the people they are spinning their falsehood to. Floss, you are genuine and the community appreciates your honesty and kindness Great job on troubleshooting the issue with the heater !
I totally agree about the internet. It’s so important to monitor what we watch and recognize what isn’t serving us and staying away from that stuff. Looking forward to watching your winter travels!
I liked the way the fire looked through the holes in the barrel and really appreciated the footage where you spoke to us in silhouette. Thank you for going outside, Flossie!
Loved all this. I've made major changes to let go of things that don't serve me. I've relocated. And finding my peace. You're so encouraging. My priority is my peace. 🧡💛☮️🥰
WTG you rock heater to keep you warm and cozy. I appreciate being here watching you and gazing at your beautiful fire, making me feel not so alone this evening. Thank you Much love 🤗 🤗
I've always been interested in how people heat their vans with these.. I recently saw someone use an all-in-one diesel heater.. possibly what i would use.. it seems easier than installing these.. lol
@TurbulentMystic this heater was one of those all in one. It’s been disassembled so I could fit it in a more compact space in my van! I also have a wood stove so now I have heating options!
@@FlossyRoxx Oh nice! Glad you got it working. Yes, your wood stove is so neat and cute. You definitely aren't going to freeze! 😉 Wonderful to have options.. I just wonder how much diesel fuel it takes? Like.. does it last a good amount of time? Maybe you can let us know!
@TurbulentMystic it depends on how hot you want your space, how long you run it for and how big the space is really! I’m sure there’s a lot of videos out there to answer the question, cos my wood stove is my first go to, I don’t have a good estimate for you sorry
Flossy, I think that’s smart to add a diesel heater in your arsenal. My Van-lifer friend works in Los Angeles 3xwk , and heads to Big Bear 4 days a wk. ,( our closest mountain skiing area), He uses a diesel heater while in the city, and uses his fireplace up in the mountains.
@simplyliving1808 awww thank you!! Yeah it makes sense and feels necessary when travelling a lot more. I’m planning to travel a lot more next year and it feels important for urban areas too
There is a company in BC that is a main distributor of Planar diesel heaters, they are far more reliable than the chinese knock off ones. I'd look into one if you're going to be staying up north in the winter with that. The chinese ones break all the time, seems like they only last a year.
@marybethtanner959 hi! I do use it. On cold mornings if I put the wood stove on it can take up to 30-40 minutes for the space to warm up so nice to have instant heat AND when I’m in more urban locations where my chimney smoke would attract too much attention, having the heater means I won’t freeze!!
lol It's so relaxing watching others work after a long day of doing stuff. Once again, a great video! thanks
@tothewaters.tothewild9148 this actually made me laugh! You’re welcome! 😁🤣☺️
I'm a fire sign too.. an Aries! Lovin' the fire.. i definitely would join your fire circle :-)
@TurbulentMystic 👏👏🔥😁

Hello Flossy! Great video as usual! I'm sorry you had to give up that beautiful space... and kitty! Such a sweetie!
See you around! L.
@BohoBlueVan aww thank you 🙏
Can't wait to see the video on the trip you are taking. I too spend way too much time online. It is not healthy for me
Hoping everything works out for you. I'm really pleased you were able to get your heater working. Wishing you a happy holiday season.

@GooseTravels1 I’ll definitely look into it if this one ever gives out! I’ve seemed to lucked into one that works for now! 🤞🤞 thanks so much
Mb was here
Don’t you have a wood-burning stove? What’s the purpose of doing the diesel heater?
@marybethtanner959 hi! I do use it. On cold mornings if I put the wood stove on it can take up to 30-40 minutes for the space to warm up so nice to have instant heat AND when I’m in more urban locations where my chimney smoke would attract too much attention, having the heater means I won’t freeze!!
Do you have a link for the heater?
@itsawonderfulrvlife I don’t actually, I got mine second hand but I believe it’s just the same as the aftermarket Amazon ones - sorry
Hi doses little heater’s are great I use one in my micro camper and left it portable as some times I use it in my garage 🫶
@lorenzooutandabout ohhh that’s a great idea good plan
