Same here, never heard of them and didn't know who they were but been a fan ever since. Them and Nonpoint blew my mind that day.
Bassist really held the band together. Super jazzy funky basslines in between heavy music.

I saw Taproot play with Pitchshifter in the UK 2002 and they are still absolutely awesome.

Mine was the first song i saw on mtv as a kid maybe 10 or 11 yrs old. In the early 2000's that i just loved. Cool to see these dudes when i was a baby still performing and soundlike a good rock band

I'm glad to see the resurgence of Taproot. My band has opened for them when there were less than 200 people in the crowd, and at sold out Machine Shop gigs. Nu-Metal was near dead there for awhile, but bands like Taproot and Nonpoint survived and thrived.
He has a really cool voice. Great band

Back in 2000 some.friemds took me out to see them open for queens of the stone age in Austin. I never forgot the energy they brought...i liked them much better than queens. Solid band and glad they are back and still killing it!

Probably have seen taproot easily 30-40 times and even went to Jarrods house to preview the Welcome album well before it came out and even have a CD burned with Billy Corrigans idea/melody for Lost in the Woods in the studio from BSR. Taproot will always hold a close place in my heart. Sucks I couldnt get up to the Midwest to catch the reunion tour this summer but appreciate videos like this

I saw these guys in Indy playing in a bar on the southside, about 2012 - and I couldn't believe how accessible and nice they were. Just an amazing band and great live.

Man, I've been watching and listening to Taproot since childhood and the band still delivers the best performances in stage! And Stephen??? Still kicking asses with this incredible vocal! Plus, being so nice getting fan's camera and filming himself and the band. Such a nice guy...
The one drumstick I caught was at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago when Taproot was opening up for someone. I was drunk and some really big guy just caught it with one hand. So I jumped up grabbing both sides trying to rip it away from him and somehow walked out with it. lol. Got it signed after just had to hide in the pits. lol

Went to see them in Flint Mi at the Machine Shop for their 3rd sold out show that weekend. Middle of "Myself" Steven comes into the crowd before the breakdown and when it hits starts moshing with everyone. Fucked my ankle up lol

One of my top favorites of all time. Massive injustice that they weren't promoted. They're very unique and absolutely should have been multiple platinum selling artists. I feel that Durst poisoned the well when it came to Taproot. He always had more power and sway than he deserved. Total douche

Man Taproot should have been as big as Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park, not only is Stephen able to rap with the best of them, when he sings I hear Layne and that's my favorite thing about them.
I dunno about the US but here in the UK You couldn't escape the video for Poem back in the day on Kerrang, Scuzz etc any alt music video channels haha. Few people in my high school had already been jamming the first record to
@@jbc00per Yes, poem was playing constantly here in the U.S. as well and then kaput! They were done, despite cranking out 1 amazing album after another. The only one that I couldn't get into was plead the 5th. The recording quality was bad, although I'm sure it wasn't their fault. My little brothers got me into Taproot before they got big, with their 1st album, Gift. Blue Sky Research was amazing but I could tell Billy Corgan wrote 2 or 3 of the songs. I was a massive smashing pumpkins fan in the 90s
