- I don't know what I was expecting but I'm sorry you don't win a conference by showing bad ass multi-platform games! You do it by showing games I can ONLY play on the xbox platform! No Halo gameplay, Gears fem fatale edition, Ori & kids games & faster game pass downloads??? Garbage conference! Forza 4 looks amazing though. Only thing that impressed me the entire conference. DR. BLUE ANY game that is on Xbox AND PC is not exclusive. No excuses no exceptions. Furthermore the public calling them “Microsoft exclusives” or “console exclusives” is just a cop out. Also Microsoft cleverly using the phrase “exclusive world premiere” had people confused thinking otherwise. I can’t tell you how many comments I’ve seen with people actually thinking those trailers were for exclusive games too as well.

Crackdown 3 was teased all the way back in 2009 for the Xbox 360. No surprises about the delay.

She was a character in Gears 4, and she isn't the first female character in the franchise. She's taking the forefront in Gears 5 because they teased her heritage at the end of Gears 4. It's all port of the story. There's also the fact that you will most likely not only play as her in the game. Marcus and his son are there, too. The game will most likely have two different plot lines that intertwine. But, yeah, no. Keep complaing about ''muh feminism'' and ''muh pandering''. Cause that's totally what's happening. To be me, they did 'okay'---I mean, they did clear EA's piss poor low bar (but frankly don't think anybody's gonna have a problem doing that, lol)--but showing a shit-ton of 3rd party as 'World Premeires' as if they your own is simply is wack as fuck. You don't get credit showing other ppl shit off in your conference 1st; which if you really wanna be technical was probably over 95% of they showed. At best, I felt they did 6 (7 if I'm feeling generous)/10--all these mofos giving 8s, 9s, or 10s are doing the most....it's not that serious, y'all. Still Microsoft is the same boat of not giving anybody major cause to jump & buy one--not saying I would of, but at least give mofos that 'green w/ envy' treatment w/ some bomb-ass exclusives announcement. NOTHING.
Of well, correction....they did brag about snatching up some 3rd party devs (as per usual when MS gets desperate), but do tell MS how the fuck is that suppose to help your current lack of shit to give your consumers predicament you're in right now? And you know none of those studios have nothing in the pipeline anytime soon. I'd like to tell those companies that jumped in bed w/ MS to say on y'all toes b/c MS doesn't low-key have as much of a regarded history of smaller dev 'buyouts' like Sony does. Don't think the shit is sweet.....all one has to do crack a peek the MS vaults of the host of IPs they scooped from snatching up smaller popular devs. Do we need to remind some of y'all what happen to Rare Games (just to name prime example)?

Don’t know why people are complaining about Kait being the main protagonist in gow 5 when they pretty much set her up as that at the end of 4 with the cliffhanger. In other series such as battlefield and halo I would understand the complaints but females have always been prominent in the gow franchise.

The only reason I'm getting rid of it because I'm upgrading to the 1080 TI. The card is in perfect condition and is an absolute beast and I'm willing to let go of it at a reasonable price. LN2233 IMO Gears has always taken itself way too seriously, and the tone of the series has gone way downhill as the series continues. All the marketing for the first game was about showcasing amazing graphics, creepy monsters and over the top gore. Now they want our first impression to be some chick PMSing.

Crackdown 3 for the 5th year in a row, still looks uninteresting, still no cloud destruction shown.
New Halo, Gears and Forza... who would've thought? Thats literally the bare minimum people should expect from Microsoft - delivering their three standard franchises.
Showing a bunch of multiplats is cool and all, but these announcements don't do anything for the platform.
Announcing new studios is nice, but out of these newly acquired studios, only Playground Games has proven record as a great AAA developer, and Playground Games has been developing for MS exclusively for years anyway, so this doesn't really change anything.
Undead Labs(State Of Decay), Ninja Theory(Hellblade) and Compulsion Games(We Happy Few) certainly aren't AAA studios.
Maybe its Microsofts plan to grow them into AAA studios, but that'll mean that their projects are even further out in the future...
The Initiative seems to be another AAA studio, but ever since 343 I have my objections to the artificial creation of these AAA studios.
Ultimately this conference to me felt like an admission that this gen is over. Microsoft delivers the bare minimum(Halo, Gears, Forza, Crackdown) in the remaining 2-3 years. And in 2020 or they'll try again in next gen.
Hopefully their studio plans work out, but what I've seen today didn't exactly inspire confidence since they didn't even show anything and the names of the studios they acquired aren't big names.
The fact that they announced studios without showing what they are working on goes to show how desperately Microsoft is trying to convince people that they will be able to compete with Sony 1st Party in the future.
Bottom line: Bare minimum is a fitting description of the conference.
But I have to say, games wise they showed quite some cool stuff, even though most of it is multiplat.

The realest assessment of the xbox conference i've seen. That's why i'm subbed. I'll be suprised if the sony conference isn't shit too. Still lots of good games to play though.
Was a good conference but doesn't reinforce the brand. Only good thing for the brand really was the acquisition of 5 new studios as well as some actual new games announcements.
LOL for some reason I can't find my original post about no backwards compatibility for PS4 so I'll just post it here the reason for it is there CPU in the PS3 is really complex CPU to emulate games from the PS3 would cost them a lot of money and take years to fully get it to emulate properly you might as well rebuild all of the games
Chris ok yeah I don't think we'll ever see true open platform backwards compatibility on ps4 for ps3 games. But, I think we could still see the ps3 exclusives maybe since they can afford to spend a little more time on them. But then again, they've almost remastered all the decent ones so, no real need.
Yeah that's true they just can't do any third party games due to the fact that they need to find all the people that created the game and ask them to pretty much recreate the game there is adequate backwards compatibility for the PS2 and the first PlayStation if they wanted to go that far it is just the PS3 they would have problems with for an example if they paid a third party to do sound effects for that game they would have to find that third party again and pretty much pay them to do that sound again because they could not emulate the PS3 on the PS4 don't get me wrong I would like to see a lot more backwards compatibility for the PS4 but it is not going to happen

Come on guys...As a Primary PS4 Player, I think this conference was good. Honestly Microsoft announcing the acquisition of new 1st party studios was the highlight for me. At least they are listening...I commend them for that alone.
