Brother Stilgo I admire your stamina and persistent against such obviously entrenched leaders. Please continue. I have your concerns but neither your energy or eloquence. @@Sam-tu4hp I did watch the video, for instance, nemo implies that president Nelson’s airplane story is a lie. However, he does not have unequivocal conclusive evidence to prove that is a lie. He hasn’t spoken directly to president Nelson about that incident nor heard all the details from him, so he cannot firmly come to the conclusion that president Nelson told a lie about that story. This is the same with his other claims of the church lying. He doesn’t have all the context nor details. Nemo is jumping to conclusions to fit his antimormon narrative. And then broadcasting this on his RUclips channel. Antimormons do this with church history and policy criticism as well. Wow, they really are clearly wishing this would just go away. They truly don't care about your concerns. I worked in government correspondence answering letters from the public about government programs. Our team had way more actual desire to answer questions and a commitment to address every point in the letter. I remember several occasions where my drafts were sent back to me with comments of, "but you didn't really answer the question." Everyone really tried. And that was the *government.*
The most disheartening thing about this IMO, is that devout members won't even care about the leaders lying to everyone. They will just find a way to justify it or simply brush it off and not allow themselves to think about it.
It is sad. I've brought up issues such as these with my father, and he brushes it off saying that the "good name of the church" needs to be protected. So pretty much how they're perceived by other people is more important than doing the right thing. I love my pops, I really wish I could get him to see things how I do but he's approaching old age and I don't see that ever happening
I agree it's disheartening to see all the stubbornness but just think about all the people we _do_ know who have had their shelf broken, or at least added to, by things exactly like this. It took a number of things for me, but eventually my shelf did break and I left and my opinions against the Church have only matured and grown since then because I learned about even more things like this. That exact timeline is shared by so many others. While it may appear at first that this is having little to no affect on TBMs, it absolutely is!
Great video! There are different groups that have different reasons for not having an issue with the "lying". My father always taught me that prophets are fallible. TBMs that have read books like rough stone rolling, read the essays as soon as they came out etc. Know the prophets have been fallible from day one. I'm in my 30s and I get details wrong when I'm telling stories from a year ago. My dad is 60s and he gets things mixed up all the time. President Nelson is 98. Not hard for my dad and I to forgive him for not remembering the details of evens from over half century ago. All that said, electrotherapy was wrong. Even a hard core TBM who believes gay marriage is the devil's work is unlikely to believe that elctro therapy was inspired by God. Nemo, I appreciate your efforts to go through the church's protocol to express your views. It is eye opening that this doctrine is not followed at top levels.
It seldom bodes well for whistle blowers; they are nearly always seen by those in authority as destabilising to the status quo. In a healthy organisation they are welcomed as a source to recognise areas to improve. Members needs to recognise the Church is not perfect (fallible) and like individuals the principle of repentance should also apply. Once I noticed that when you go to church leaders with legitimate questions or concerns (especially concerns about a particular leader), it is not just dismissed, but you are systematically and repeatedly given the run around in the hopes that you eventually just drop it, that is when I allowed myself to question the church narrative. After that I began studying the church history and it was all downhill after that.

Incredible work. It's just so sad that they can't just say that they lied and were wrong. Like... You teach that you're not perfect, so why not just say you lied?
OMG, I'm speechless. But I'm not surprised. If only these men recognized how much trust they could build by owning their mistakes, poor choices, etc. What a tragedy.
According to the church's scriptures, The Book of Mormon teaches if the higher judges judge or act unrighteously, they are to be judged by lower judges according to the voice of the people (church members). Mosiah 29:28-29 28 And now if ye have judges, and they do not judge you according to the law which has been given, ye can cause that they may be judged of a higher judge. 29 If your higher judges do not judge righteous judgments, ye shall cause that a small number of your lower judges should be gathered together, and they shall judge your higher judges, according to the voice of the people. If local authorities agree with the evidence, the church's scriptures teach they are to gather together and judge the higher judges. So concerning who is the first presidency accountable to, according to scripture, it's accountable to the members of the church.
The problem with getting contact from the first presidency when you oppose as far as I know, is that you need to meet with your local leadership. Since I live in Utah, every single member that I've known are devout members meaning that they will simply brush off the lies that the senior leadership have said.
Liking and commenting for the algorithm. Everyone should see the hard work and passion here. Nice work man. (Btw I saw u on the mormon stories podcast so I figured I could stop by 🙂)
I love your Channel Nemo, great job!!! Question: Do the Apostles pay tithing? I know that during Brigham Young's Presidency they voted that the first presidency and apostles were exempt from paying tithing. Is this still the case? Does anyone know? Thank you
I'm just a visitor/investigator but I was asked recently why I don't join in on the votes. I explained that it appears like a tradition and I don't see the point in participating. One member told me they do it to "support the church". I see no harm in supporting the church but why is it presented as a vote?
This is really incredible. It should not be this hard to ask “who’s holding the people at the top accountable?” The answer is: nobody. Absolutely nobody. Similar as to here in the US when the police are assigned to investigate themselves in policy or legal misconduct and, lo and behold, no wrongdoing is ever found. Same thing. Oaks investigated himself and, by golly gee, he determined he did nothing wrong. It’s incredible.
Sustaining vote at 1:05. I have come to the realization that many members do not understand what the word sustain means. They will often challenge the authority of local leaders and not support their decisions regarding a stake or ward. However they still give a sustaining vote at ward or stake conference. It does not surprise me when people including leaders act oddly when there is a person who gives an opposing vote. They don't know what to do. And what exactly is supposed to be done after a person does oppose? Many leaders probably never took it that seriously in the past since opposing votes made up less than 1% of active membership at conferences.
Just an alternative thought here. I'm Fundamentalist Mormon and in our system of belief and understanding of mormonism, the Church is a democracy and leadership of the Church CAN be voted against or for by its members.
Was the letter to you from Dallin Oaks really destroyed? Or was it "excised" from your stake president's computer and secured in a Church vault? Might the letter be restored years later, when some external pressure leads to its discovery and dissemination?
It's a simple question that really deserves a simple explanation. Not a wild goose chase. The fact he couldn't or rather he wouldn't answer it, is likely because he's not a prophet. I would think a man who speaks on behalf of a quote on quote "omniscient God" you would think he'd have a means to provide the answer or just to come clean and admit he's a vile man and a false teacher. The real reason why he's probably acting so self righteous and immune to criticism is likely because dallon has probably been endowed with the second anointment and probably thinks he's untouchable to criticism because of it. If any of you don't know what I'm talking, you need to research that.
But NEMO, there's one huge problem with Common Consent and where the brethren hold the ultimate trump card! That is, "Continuous Revelation." When you have the ability to change the rules...move the goal post at anytime, you can excuse any behavior. What would be noble is an acknowledgement of the wrong doing and dishonesty to each individual offense. Rather than the lawyerly and universal approach of, "we regret..." Or "prophets are fallible."
I attended conference (in my prior life before being an ex-Mormkn) in both the Tabernacle and Conference Center. Looking around the Conference Center and the 22,000 in attendance, I wondered what would happen if you stood and opposed a vote. Would anyone dare oppose? I doubt they would outloud even if they did. Thank you for this very insightful program.
I hope you are enrolled in a good law school. The church of Jesus Christ of later day Saints would benefit greatly from a talent such as yours! Sincerely Bryce
Dear Nemo, I have one wee question to ask which I have also asked on Quora "Why does the LDS Church not allow some of its congregation into its temples? Jesus said, "Whatsoever You Do to the Least of My Brothers You Do unto Me"; Matthew 25:40." I thought of this question when I was watching your videos and heard that you were refused a Temple recommend to get into a Temple. I found that rather odd as all are welcome into a place of worship. I am not a Mormon and you are but in terms of the temple we are treated the same and refused entrance. Good luck with your endeavours and remember what the Anglican Bishop of Worcester Hugh Latimer said in 1555 "tell the truth and shame the devil".
Brilliant, Nemo! You naughty boy, harassing those poor (billionaire) church leaders! Hilarious! I live in SLC, UT. Never Mo, but I love, love, love your asking for accountability. You're really a burr under their saddle and I'm loving it. I find Holland's homophobia nauseating. And yes, he was a key figure in intruding into another state's politics, CA Prop. 8. There was advertising here. So much for separation of church & state. That they excommunicate anyone who dissents and manage to keep the brethren from questioning anything, convinces me of the utter cult-like nature of this org. I'm ex-cath and find there were cult-like features, but we can just walk away without the intense shaming and shunning that is so abusive in LDS. I love that you are challenging these octogenarians to be truthful, but I'm afraid they are able to keep the status quo with the "sheeple." Yes, on the shock "therapy" @ BYU. Holland recently gave a scathing and abusive public comment on a BYU Valedictorian's excellent speech in which he came out. Many, many applauded this. It was a beautiful address.
Nemo, you're incredibly methodical and patient. Like several others here, I feel that top leaders have shown themselves to not be what they profess, beyond any doubt. However, I admire your tenacity and discipline to try so hard to get them to engage with you on issues that matter--issues which, if treated the way they're treated when you or I err, give cause for counsel, correction and sometimes disciplinary action. One question on the second anointing: is there anything written about it that suggests it guarantees recipients unwavering church standing if they sin their way to celestial glory?
Everytime I hear Pres. Neilson I cringe because the evidence concludes he is a liar. The evidence Nemo has provided is valid. Great work, Nemo, and very brave.
being honest in all dealings is supposed to be the standard to be allowed in the temple. the second anointing must effectively annul all of his dishonesty? oaks needs to explain.
Loved this video, it really it's needed to know how we can be opposed and be heard, leaders who believed there are no issues make bad decision. Have you posted the second part of this video, or what's the name of that video. Mucha appreciated.
I recently just learnt how Marriott managed to earn so much money from the LGBT market and even said’ ““Our church is very much opposed to alcohol and we’re probably one of the biggest sales engines of liquor in the United States. I don’t drink. We serve a lot of liquor. You’re in business. You’ve got to make money. We have to appeal to the masses out there, no matter what their beliefs are.” And he served in the Area Seventy in 2011.
It’s a lesson in poor ecclesiastical and pastoral care
Pschh... I hate it when people just resend stuff instead of addressing any follow-ups or other additional specifics!
According to the church's scriptures, The Book of Mormon teaches if the higher judges judge or act unrighteously, they are to be judged by lower judges according to the voice of the people (church members).
Mosiah 29:28-29
28 And now if ye have judges, and they do not judge you according to the law which has been given, ye can cause that they may be judged of a higher judge.
Thanks for your courage Nemo!
Thanks for the update and thank you for your energy and engagement in this matter.
Well done, Nemo.
Thanks!
Very proud of you son, keep up the great work!
Always that fear factor of losing everything- 16:58 "and the pathway to your eternal home and happiness with your loved ones."
This story is so epic I watched it twice (once on mormon stories and now here) and I'm not bored yet lol, keep it up! =D
Liking and commenting for the algorithm. Everyone should see the hard work and passion here. Nice work man. (Btw I saw u on the mormon stories podcast so I figured I could stop by 🙂)
Thanks for stopping by!
I love your Channel Nemo, great job!!! Question: Do the Apostles pay tithing? I know that during Brigham Young's Presidency they voted that the first presidency and apostles were exempt from paying tithing. Is this still the case? Does anyone know? Thank you
Thank you for presenting such educational information
Nemo's disciplinary hearing in 3...2...
Thank for being our voice Nemo!
I'm Fundamentalist Mormon and in our system of belief and understanding of mormonism, the Church is a democracy and leadership of the Church CAN be voted against or for by its members.
homeboy has the 2nd anointing and as such, he cannot sin. Sorry Nemo
So ridiculous on every level! What a fraud and brain screw!
Nemo and RFM have the 2nd Endowment too so it's fair.
How can he not sin
I suspect so!
@@justins5756 Humm False prophet?? Not Good!
Was the letter to you from Dallin Oaks really destroyed? Or was it "excised" from your stake president's computer and secured in a Church vault? Might the letter be restored years later, when some external pressure leads to its discovery and dissemination?
Nemo, thank you for all your efforts!
Truly sad the lack of accountability. Are you concerned about the status of your membership in the church?
Nope, my local leaders don’t want to ex me
@@NEMOTHEMORMON you can do it if you really want to. Just send in your resignation
@@rogerbrunt5918 if they admit they lied I imagine Nemo and many many others will resign.
"We'll just give you a free ride out of town" feels about right for these cops.
Such a load of clams. Can’t believe how they roll.
How amazing would it be if all the exmos joined together and stood up to oppose?! I would really love to see that!
Are you in Reading stake? I was baptised in Reading stake in 2006 when I was studying at University of Reading! Good work 👍 thanks for your effort
I wish I had the power to convey information that clearly and confidently. You rock Nemo!!
Amazing work wow 😳🙌🏽
I hope you are enrolled in a good law school. The church of Jesus Christ of later day Saints would benefit greatly from a talent such as yours!
Sincerely
Bryce
Thanks buddy! I am very curious what the outcome may be. Do you think you will get resolution?
Tom Phillips, a recipient of the Second Anointing, has written about it. I also did a video covering the topic!
Brave man
... to be continued.
Iacta alea est.
Good luck and god speed.
Had Bill Marriott been warned by church and even threatened to be excommunicated for his stance?
They think God is an idiot.
They don't know GOD. Freemasons, ugh, don't get me started.
They think God is a man like them. That is the main issue.
