- In this video, we take a closer look at the history of Battle Hawk ( バトルホーク ). Battle Hawk is an often overlooked tokusatsu TV series as it started its broadcast as the henshin boom era was coming to a close.

This series looks interesting, especially the manga.
Agree. The manga looked surprisingly good while I was doing research for this video. I'm going to try to hunt it down.
Hey guys I’m back from being dead. Oh hey battle hawk I love this show.
The plot reminds me of the Oriental Heroes manhua. I need to see this.
This video is just stunning!
Thank you very much!! I really appreciate your kind words!
昔のヒーロー番組やアニメの兄弟設定では必ず居た大柄なヒーロー
Imagine if kaiketsu shuffle got a tokusatsu show, with it being a sequel to this show, and with other shows.
Absolutely. I would not mind even seeing an anime based on the Battle Hawk manga. It looks genuinely good!
I hope Go Nagai make reboot version of Battle Hawk
Agree! With today's cinematic technology they could really do justice to the concept.
I'm Interested in this show as well as the Manga, its to bad this show was cut short though. but i hope to watch this!
thanks for the review 👍😀i didn't even know about this show.
The dark ironman name is pretty ironic since he's in charge of the American region. Makes me think of an evil ironman from marvel.
I'm sad this series is so short, we didn't even get the full line up of the enemy generals
Agree. I wish we could have seen how they would have pulled off those designs in the real world.
Cool
Thanks!
It reminds me a lot of Akumaizer 3 and if I'm not mistaken they went out almost together, maybe it didn't seem very interesting because of that. I was surprised that Nagai had created a Tokusatsu as well as an X-Bomber later. Interestingly after that Nagai started to produce numerous Live Actions with his famous mangas like Kekko Kamen and Harenchi Gakuen
I had the same reaction initially. While Akumazier 3 and Battle Hawk started their broadcast about a year apart, they were both attempts at capitalizing on the success of Gorenger and the "team of heroes" formula. It falls into that short time frame where a lot of these shows came out, including Akumaizer 3, Choujin Bibyun, Ninja Captor, and Toho's Enban Sensou Bankid.
Agree on how surprisingly involved Go Nagai and his production company have been in various Tokusatsu programs over the years. But the shows he was involved in during the 70s and early were definitely unique productions! 😀
Very difficult to find on DVD
Wtf the slow motion
Ha! Right, it was an interesting choice they made for several duels within the series.
Are you going look at Tsuburaya Productions non-ultra series at some point?
Absolutely! I have many of those in my list, it just comes down to making time to rewatch them and doing the research work for each one. Mirrorman, Fireman, the dinosaur trilogy, Mighty Jack and many more are on my list. I promise I'll get to them at some point in the near future.
are there any ways to watch this other than the DVDs ?
DVDs is the easiest way to go, but there is at least one fansubbed episode of RUclips if you want to check it out.
i see 👀
now it's on youtube, albeit fansub
