It depends on the carrier but as far as the router it doesn't know if it's a IOS or Android. I would mod the IMEI to match the card just to be sure. It's very easy to do on this model
HNAT is a solution offered for SIP clients who connect from a location behind a router (ISP, MPLS, etc.) that performs NAT to the all the traffic, including SIP, BUT without being aware of the SIP content (and therefore not changing it as it is expected). This will cause problems in the process of SIP handling (phones unable to register, one-way audio). The QoS (Quality of Service) feature allows you to prioritize the internet traffic of specific devices to guarantee a faster connection when you need it the most. The router has preset an appropriate bandwidth allocation policy, so you don’t need to set different priorities for all devices. Simply set the desired device to High Priority and set how long you want it to remain the high priority, then the device will be allocated with more bandwidth when the network is overloaded
I have not played with that model but have with that company, they do make pretty good products. I have talked with a friend that deals with them and he said between those two you maybe happier with the cudy overall.

@@CouchPotatoCafe But where can I set a device to High Priority on Cudy?
I live in finland and i have telia what should i put ttl to?, dns operator recommends 300 seconds...
TTL is 64 and 65 in USA but check with others in your area to confirm
Do You think that Zyxel FWA510 could be better than Cudy P5?
I have not played with that model but have with that company, they do make pretty good products. I have talked with a friend that deals with them and he said between those two you maybe happier with the cudy overall.
Can you recommend me other wifi router that support or have a simcard slot please?
There are many, what are you looking to do with it, what type of service in your area? Stuff like that
Does Cudy P5 Router have Reverse Polarity Damage protection system?
Not a lot of them do but you should run your system through a surge bar which does have it
i just bought this router, the guy at tmobile said i needed to connect to their device for it to work? They sent me a t-mobile sim car but it will not connect to internet. Is this true, anyone know? T-mobile home internet Sales dept and tech support workers are (apparently) not aware of this router. Thanks in advance for any info.
Here ya go www.cudy.com/newsinfo/4638036.html
Thanks a lot for that link Jim, you're a king for doing this!
Does your router go back to default settings after a reboot?
After reset but not reboot
@CouchPotatoCafe
The one that I bought always went to the default settings after I had used the power button to turn it on. Very nerve wrecking.
Hi I just got the cudy p5 and I run speedtest from my mobile 5g download speed 1.3gbps and with cudy 350mbps... why is that? They have something like a limit speed? Any help???
Have you modified the IMEI and TTL? Like most cell services are looking for this and will throttle services, try though your VPN and see if it is better and if is will be a throttling issue.
@CouchPotatoCafe how can I modify the imei? I purchase the cudy router from Greece I had previous a zte 5g router and automatically I had 1gbps speed
If you haven't done the latest firmware update which will have the AT Command under the cellular section but here ya go 192.168.10.1/cgi-bin/luci/admin/network/gcom/atcmd
enter this command and enter your imei number where it is in the command line
AT+EGMR=1,7,"IMEINUMBER"@@AlexAlex-qd6dk
@CouchPotatoCafe I have the latest firmware update and I follow your instructions. I got a message ok but the same problem with the speed
Did you reboot router? Did you try with VPN? @@AlexAlex-qd6dk
My CUDY just says interface “4G6” instead of having an IP I cannot get the internet to work on AT&T any suggestions? Thank you.
Some AT&T plans require activation at the store? This usually happens when people buy the 50gb Prepaid data plan from AT&T
@@CouchPotatoCafe I have the unlimited tablet plan, I think they might have flagged my sim when I put it in the CUDY, ever since I can’t get the data to work on any of the devices I put it in. I’ve had the sim for maybe 2 years now
@@reapinuponu6035 It's possible but the prepaid and the post paid plans are different. Be sure to repair the IMEI prior to inserting the Sim
@@CouchPotatoCafe okay thank you, I ordered another $20 tablet plan post paid and should get the SIM today or tomorrow, I tried to change the IMEI without the SIM card inserted but it just kept saying error. But this was after I had already inserted it once before.
@@reapinuponu6035 I would do a factory reset on it then try it again. Be sure to enter the AT comand correctly or it will throw an error and if you are copy and paste try entering it manually
Do you need to turn modem router off when not online?
I never turn mine off, it controls my whole house .
Very good video !!!
Thank you very much! thanks for watching
I don't see the AT-command list.. Anyone have a link to it?
If you are talking about the link to the AT Command on this router I have it in the discription as mentioned, but if you are looking for AT Commands functions then google "AT-command list" and there are a number of website for that. Hope this helps
is there anyway to change the MTU settings on this software?
Yes you can
Can this router act as a repeater or do WIFI as WAN?
It does have a WAN/LAN port but I do not think so as a repeater. Confirm with their support as they seem to have many updates.
Amazon's website gives a WARNING! - Frequently Returned Item
Never seen that before
Mine still working great, but I have read that some buy from ebay and switch out the modem and send them back.
Do some research it’s on anything returned more than 20% of sales not a big deal sense everyone uses Amazon as a trial service lol
What is the best t mobile sim plan to use with cudy?
Any truly unlimited unthrottled (no caps) plan will work which means most of the tablet addon plans are what you may want to look for.
I want to try the visible Sim. What visible plan did you get ?
And you use 65ttl & hl ?
Thanks
@@d804boy Do to where I live I went with the lower plan and since I have been with them they actually lowered my cost to match the previous plan as a bonus. If you live where you can get 5G then the upper plan would be my choice
How does this compare to MOFI 5500?
Hi Pat, I do like Mofi and their products but in my humble opinion I think the cudy p5 is a better deal overall.
I own a mofi5500 9191 5G too but I believe this one is much better and less expensive for sure but the mofi I own it's burn on lightning so i just have the mofi sitting there I don't wanna fix it no more because it's too expensive to fix
Thank you sir
Thank you for watching, I appreciate it!
Nice quiet area
Thank you for watching, I appreciate it!
If you can't pee off your front porch, then your neighbors are way too close! LOL! ;-)
There is still no 5G where I am today. But hey, 4GLTE is fine for my needs honest.
LOL, I have said the exact same thing. I like living out and away. It does take away some convenience but worth it.
464XCLAT supported?
From what I can see
Does e come with a sim card
Hi Donald, No you would need to get that from an existing phone or tablet plan from who services your area best.
So how much this cost?
Depends on where you buy it and what time to catch a sale. amzn.to/3Y44DLK
THX 😊
No problem 😊
Thanks for more great work Jim :) Aussie Dave in PA here,... Thanks to your tip on the Visible TCL 20A phone & the new Visible network crossover video I am tethering to my PC & enjoying RUclips video's in HD 1080P as much as I like for $30 a month !
Of course, this Hot Spot tethering is NOT throttled thanks to your PDAnet video which is a MUST SEE if you are suppling Internet to your PC via your phone ! ruclips.net/video/BxJULfiMQS0/видео.html
I have a sweet honeymoon deal with Broadband but I will be watching this router for when that deal ends,... I have the opposite problem to you,... I too am in a Semi Rural area and I can see my Cell Tower out my front window about a mile away BUT it's the busiest tower in the County of about 120,000 people & no 5G yet.
That all said, I think the Visible $45 plan & this router would set me up pretty well :)
As always David, thanks for the input and support
can it change the imei?
Very easy
if you cant get 5G does it still pick up the 4G signals?
Hi Andrew, sure it does and does it well.
