His rude, nasty and disgusting family benefited from Pedro marrying Chantel. Braces, money, surgery, bigger apartment in the DR and gifts. I never trusted Pedro from the beginning. Before he could work, he would be sending money to his family (Chantel was the only earner) and her family questioned his motives because of it. Somehow, her family was villainized (which some of their antics were over the top and annoying, not going to lie) but they were right the whole time. Once he got married to Chantel, he started treating her like dirt and she still tried to keep her marriage together. “Their families were too involved, that’s the reason they broke up” to an extent I can agree, but Pedro never had any genuine intentions to stay married to Chantel imo. That’s the real reason the marriage didn’t work. He was just along for the ride before he could be independent outside of her. Disgusting. I hope that she will have her happy ending with a man that truly cherishes and loves her because that’s what she deserves💕

Chantel asked him so they could attend couples counseling, she pleaded and did everything she could to fix their marriage .. even went as far as to talk to Pedro's mother, to see if they could work on the marriage . Nome of that helped. Pedro was done and only wanted a divorce. Such a shame. He used her and got nasty towards the end. His family did not make things better. Their problem could all have been solved if they had communicated better and made compromises. From what I saw, Chantel tried fixing things and communicated with him , which he always ran away and spent time with his coworkers. Chantel was not perfect and I am not defending her, but I think the one here who is in the WRONG was Pedro, not Chantel because at least she tried to work it out ... Doesn't matter if she was first or late. She tried. She lowered herself for this man. She pleaded and begged him when he treated her like garbage. Even when she did try to fix things, and cook for him, and do housechores, he would still nag her and his behavior wouldn't change. He got tired in the end and gave up and I don’t blame him. She started cooking for him and doing household chores way too late in the marriage. She started once he already opted out. She didn’t open her eyes and realise in the beginning so her husband had enough.
