I have been asked the meaning to this song many times, so I wanted to address it. When I wrote this song...
I imagined a scene/story.
In my mind it was a car crash where the woman was dying, and the man survived. She was passing on as he held her. The first verse is the guy singing to her (his love.)
He was singing to her at the crash site
That’s why his lyrics are
What’s going on?
The look in your eyes tells me there’s something wrong.
That’s painting the picture of her not being responsive, and him realizing it. He is so devastated he’s even willing to “sell his soul for her to pull through.”
The woman’s part.
She’s in spirit form not realizing she’s dead, as she’s walking towards the crowd that is gathered around her body.
Which is why she says “I can feel the crowd thinking oh my god,” and “I can’t feel anything.” She is realizing she is passing on / passed on.
“I’ve been dancing with your ghost” in the chorus, is about them refusing to let each other go.
It’s a story of eternal love.

Today was hard.. my first love and long time friend lost his battle with addiction over the night. And our last conversation has haunted me for months. This brought out all the emotions I've had the last 12 hours. Since hearing the news. Oscar don't ever quit your dream your songs are so beautiful. Thank you for your undying love for music.
No Resolve are an awesome band, only came across them a couple of years ago, they make great music , can be haunting at times like this song I love it, to beautiful covers there versions are incredible testament to this great band .

Not sure if the band (or most of the world in general) realizes what a masterpiece this song is. Simple yet beautiful; not overdone or forced.

This just hit hard for me. I was with the love of my life for 6 yrs, we were due to be married Oct 19th, 2017. He passed away in an accident Sept 24th 2017... 25days before our wedding day.. Worst day of my life. There are no words that can explain what i feel. But some how your song hit part of it 💕 thank you for this beautiful song 💕
Im terribly sorry for your lost.. I lost my husband July 9,2015. After 7 yrs.. It's very hard.. the pain doesn't go away. You learn how to live without them physically being here. In your heart they continue to live.

@@brendastone2862 What a beautiful reply for someone who has lost a loved one.... The hurt never goes away, you just have to get thru it NOT over it. I lost my mama 8yrs ago to lung cancer, she was coughing n spitting out blood n I kept telling her to look at me n 30mins later she died in my arms, I crawled in bed with her at the hospital n told her It's ok to just go n be in peace. 5yrs later my daddy died in my arms, I had to start CPR on him till EMS pulled me off. His cancer Dr said he wouldn't give him 6 weeks to live because he had the worst n fastest spreading cancer...... he lived for a week after!!! Sorry to ramble on about this, just letting you know you're really not alone in your sadness n I couldn't imagine losing my husband. My heart goes out to everyone else who has lost a loved one! God Bless!!

My first husband was KIA in Iraq years ago. He had been one of my best friends since we were kids. My life has moved on, I've remarried and have a family. But there are still days I dance with his ghost. Some things you never get over or let go of.
I have not healed from my wife's death which was November 30, 2018 and it is because I cannot let her go. This song really hits home.

As I’m listening to this I’m fighting the tears that are proceeding to fall. My brother was murdered in October of 2015. We found him 3 weeks later. This song hits me so hard. His murderers were never prosecuted, therefore it’s impossible for me to find closure. I have a video of him dancing with his daughter less than a year before the murder. Watching now, it’s like she’s dancing with his ghost.

I found this group, this song, four years ago. Very shortly before my grandmother's passing from being severely sick. This song let me mourn in a way I needed, because the ears I needed most to hear me were deaf to my plight and pain, because he wouldn't understand it.

I just found this song and I had lost my best friend to suicide 7 years ago and I was the one that found her only to be able to get her back in enough time to hear her final words... it gave me really bad ptsd because watching the life leave her eyes killed me and I didn’t want to believe it and tried to take my own life a week later and it failed... there are still some days where I think I hear her screaming for me.... about a year ago I got involved with spiritual stuff and was able to contact her on the other side and I spilled everything to her and broke down because I never got to tell her that I loved her...
