One of the most informative golf videos I have ever seen. I can see the "feel" in this video. Took it to the course today and instantly found this feel in my move and swing.
eric, this really hit home with me, it seems to keep me in my posture better and longer with a good hand and club path. i only tried it out in my backyard practice area with wiffle balls but it worked right away and only 2 swing thoughts. the flakes are maybe gonna fly this week up here in massachusetts but i do have an outdoor heated range to go to. thnx to you guys for the help.
Excellent instructional video Eric! I think the transition to left (Re-Centering/thinking of Dropping hands) before the completion of the backswing is a key element in getting the left hip and right shoulder down to impact! Its hard to go wrong if you do these correctly!
Wow so good! I haveveorked so hard on my swing getting the back swing right. Now the most common problem on “golf fix” is too much hip slide and early extension. This seems to fix both? Gets me in a better position. Thanks again for your assistance
Eric! You da man! Question for ya bub. Do you think you could make a video on a workout video that will help target certain muscles for golf. Going into winter months soon and won’t be able to golf. Thanks love your videos
Thanks, Rick! Appreciate ya! Honestly we will likely not do that. Not here at least. Have to play the game with youtube to get enough clicks, watch time, etc and that doesnt get enough juice. We talk about that on www.cogornogolf.com tho if you want to join us there!
Awesome stuff Eric & JT! I tried these moves on the course yesterday and they work. 👍🏼 I’ll be drilling these moves on the range before my round from now on. Thank you!
@@CogornoGolf This video is GOLD!! I’ve been inside out for 55 years. Left shoulder/hip up; right arm down. I just hit balls keeping left hip down and the contact was fantastic. My bad misses are thins and fats. None today. Thanks for posting this. True game changer. Jim
Great video. I practiced yesterday. So much to incorporate. The gorilla side scratching exercises loosened muscles I didn't know were there, and it eased the movement. (1) In the video, at the 7:40, or the 14:15 mark ( the same ), see how your left arm, and hand, is rigid coming down. I'm trying to figure out an exercise, or some tool, to teach me to this position to the ball contact. I felt like I wanted to tape my in that position, as I didn't feel it staying in place. Or should I be? Someone mentioned a comment, 3 below this one in a reply, about dropping the hands before completion of the backswing. I think this relates to the same. Can you clarify this? (2) At 13:40, anything else you can further say to avoiding divoting? I felt I was hitting the ground a lot, so I tried to focus on the upper body staying upright and centered thru the swing. I was very rigid practicing to put it all together. When I get this down and loosen up, this may correct it. Again, Eric, thank you so much for such quality productions.
Appreciate the kind words! Awesome questions---unfortunately I don't think I can give you GOOD answers without seeing your swing on video to see EXACTLY what YOU are doing. Without seeing we will be talking too much in generalities for me to answer those as it WILL NOT be the same for everyone. It depends on what YOU are currently doing to get there and HOW/WHEN. Shitty answer....but it's the real answer lol With I could give you something simple but we would be flipping a coin and I dont want to do that. If you send your swings in to www.cogornogolf.com Im confident we can solve this for you.
Not a shitty answer at all. I appreciate your time. I'm asking too much. I'm hearing the Hanger aide ad while I'm typing this and this may be the answer to this question, as I'm attention on my wrist. I'll pick one up and practice with this. In the meantime, I'll figure out how to send you a clip. Again, thank you for this great video.
great advanced lesson today. also, since my backswing is so short (arm parallel) i am trying to get the left hip moving sooner. i still want to make a good hip turn away that brings left heel of the ground. then start transition by replacing it on the ground and knee moving left. i like this move cuz it gets that right shoulder "crunch" thing right away. so, relating to this vid very much. thanks
Another gem! Pulls and pull hooks is me for sure. Also really liked the subtle distinction that was made between doing something "more" and doing something "longer". This clicked for me. Thanks Eric!
Eric, when I combine this video and your most recent early extension video, am I correct with the swing thought of a combination of left hip down, back(hitting the range basket with my calf) and forward at the start of the downswing? These thoughts are really helping my swing look much more powerful and smoother. Of course, syncing up these downswing moves takes practice. I don’t always get the ball contact I want, but the body motion looks much more “pro like”. Thank you for the great swing thoughts and feels.
Same here CubFan. Getting that left hip down and clearing the hip opens up plenty of room for the hands to come from the inside and square the ball up! The key element is putting a rhythmic tempo to these movements. When that happens the ball gets flushed off the center of the clubface. 💪
Hey Eric, don’t want to be a pain in the arse, but I do watch this video a lot and have a question. Am I correct when I say that I should be feeling that as I am coming down my right hip staying higher and back? Having some improvement but still not getting the lag. Also When recording my swings I draw the butt line. Am I correct when my thinking is with that right cheek on the line I need to replace it with my left hip at impact? I cannot quite keep that right hip back on the line. I do get my left cheek back to the line at impact which is certainly an improvement for me. Thank you.
I bought the hanger along with their other training aid after watching your IG video and followed your link. Hope you got a kickback. I've developed a bad habit of "scooping" and bringing my left hip/shoulder up to early and this video is really applicable. It's like a took my setup for a driver swing and started doing it with my irons, makes for a really bad ball contact.
100%....good stuff....the hanger will help with the wrist angle feels for sure. Want to get your body in position to help as well! Lead shoulder, hip and knee down and forward!
Eric I was trying one of you drills, the squeeze arm drill and I started to stall at impact again it’s an old habit that came back into my swing any thoughts on what could be the problem
I was heading on the right track I was adding more rotation but now I keep stalling out and throwing my right wrist at the ball something to do with my wrist angle at the top of the swing my face keeps opening up
For me the big takeaway is to get belt buckle pointing to lead knee in down swing into impact and automatically you will get left hip(pelvis????) down and right shoulder down at impact. Definitely involves rotation of hips too.
Great question. Anything that happens naturally needs no conscious effort. Anything that does not happen naturally needs conscious effort. So....do your arms fall naturally? If not, you need conscious effort. If they do you do not.

10:07 is the move! This is the feel I could see in this video.
Love it!
Can't say enough how much I enjoy these videos and how much my game's improved. Little by little, tweak by tweak.
Love to hear this!

This one really hits home, love the swing thought, something Milo talks about and you demo so well!

What a great video!!!! 👍 I realize immediately that I have been coming up too quickly out of the shot with the left hip and striking the balls thin
Appreciate it :) Hope it helps!
Great refinement of the body driven swing video.
Thanks!
This video is brilliant. The content is awesome.
Thank you, Phil!

Very great Eric, thank you.
Shall I do it the same way with the driver please, Sir?
Best greetings from Vienna, Erich
Thanks! Yes

Eric, great video. Worked on it today & contact was much better is this the same lower body move with the driver?
Good stuff! Same general ideas here....driver def different than Irons but this part mainly the same

One of the most detailed explanations of the first move down I’ve ever seen, excellent!
Thank you Neil!

Another great video
Thank you Bob!
Should the arms fall naturally or should it be a conscious effort?
Great question.
Anything that happens naturally needs no conscious effort.
Anything that does not happen naturally needs conscious effort.
So....do your arms fall naturally? If not, you need conscious effort. If they do you do not.
Eric, get rid of your excessive slide-flip motion and you will go from a +2 hdcp to a + 5 hdcp. No charge, good luck!
:)
Eureka 👍👍👍
:)
Nice video! Ugly shoes 😂
Thank you!
