At the 54:21 mark I mistakenly said June 7th instead of January 7th. I'm pinning this comment just to correct that error and state that the giveaway will take place on Sunday, January 7th.
Now that all of my kids, and Grandkids are financially independent, at 73 years old I'm able to enjoy the world of watches, especially the intricate process of repair. I've even started an inexpensive collection of vintage Timex, Invicta, Boktoc, and Gruens. It's fun! Your channel is fantastic with a morning cup of coffee ☕. Used Seiko's are still above my retirement budget. I have to say that your Bruce Lee giveaway has me on the edge of my seat. Far-out!
Seiko doesn’t get the respect it deserves. Innovative design, accuracy, reliability and Collectibility. Some of the most beautiful watch faces I’ve seen.
Seiko manages to be both good and cheap, but they do so many different things to cover as many segments of the market as possible so sometimes they open themselves up for criticism when they economize to target low cost markets. Still there are plenty of good reasons to respect Seiko.
I believe my first real watch was a Seiko,8829-8000, more less ,I'm on a hunt to discover the model based on the year I was wearing it, this is a fun hobby...however, the vox populi makes it clear it's not in par with say rolex. even when wearing a legit rolex someone may ask: it a real one ¿...seen this a number of times, human nature?..anyway, I'm gonna wear a metal case Seiko cause of old time sake and of course it will be serviced...thanks for the post!
I remember my grandpa used to always brag about the seiko watch he brought back from WW2. If only I could find it. It was really special to him. It sucks that it was lost after he left.
At one time I watch these videos with great interest, at other dates when laying in my bed I fall asleep. Nice soothing voice to relax and check out. Downside is you're start dreaming like you're in a Salvador Dali painting.😊😊😊😊
I missed it 😢. I was too caught up in watching my team's season come to a screeching halt. It's a beauty to some lucky person. Congratulations to whomever you are!!
Been a Seiko fan for ages. Remember my dad wearing one of the original quartz watches. Loved Bruce Lee since being a kid. I was a kid. Such a cool connection to a historical watch maker. Great show!
Thank you. This one was in exceptionally good condition to begin with. Not all of them are like that though, including some others on the channel. I've done enough of them at this point that I can generally get them to run pretty well, but it may require much more work than this one needed. They are robust movements that can usually be brought back from pretty poor conditions if done correctly.
What a beautiful watch my faves are the ufo or captain willard I recently added the bellmatic to my list thanks to you. My grandfather left me a sports 150 I've a seiko man every since
Remember from childhood i opened bunch of watches, always been facinated how it's working. Unfortunatelly never learned to put it back together. Now it's just sattisfing to attend on same process, at least virtually. Great vintage piece.
Seiko dials are really in a class of their own. I was surprised how little repair was needed, if only Seiko QC was as good these days as they used to be.
The blue dial on this watch is amazing. I am fascinated with watching these videos. I am looking forward to the day when I can start working on watches.
One of those tiny subtleties wed miss if we didn't watch hundreds of watch repair videos: At 24:06 you installed the Diashock spring one-handed! No second tweezers or oiler to stabilize. You've either leveled your skill way up, or totally YOLO'd this balance jewel.
The blue dial is one of my favorite of the old Seiko dials. Thanks for working on these old Seikos - I'm working on a number of these for my collection! Thanks
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this ERA of Seikos & it's so FANTASTIC to see your very careful restoration & preservation of this watch as you said they're only original once!!!.
Incredible Seiko, I'm trying to find one of these to make a restoration like yours!! ....but if i win that one, I'm not going to complain about it😬 Thanks for such an amazing video!!
Your videos are so very welcoming and inspiring. And, I think your philosophies on cosmetic preservation vs. restoration vs. re-conditioning are spot on! Seiko is arguably the greatest watch company in the world, way more important than Rolex or Omega. One glance at a Rolex Sub....yes it's nice, but we have seen it a million times, it's boring. Seiko has dozens and dozens of unique dials and cases, with different levels of finishing for any budget. Thanks for keeping our fires lit!
There was many years of cell phone/ smart phone popularity before I was gifted one. I always said that I don't know anyone I like so much I'd carry a phone around to talk with. My opinion hasn't changed much. My phone provides atomic clock accurate time and I don't wear a watch any more. I'm not sure how I stumbled on to your watch repair channels. I've spent hours watching you work. I have a greater appreciation for the watches I wished I could afford when I was a young adult. Thank you for your work.
Once again a great video. The time and effort you give to each of your videos, and the information you provide in them is greatly appreciated. The winner of this watch is going to be a very happy person.
Always nice to see the complete breakdown and rebuild of vintage watches and giving them the tlc they deserve. Love your video's Adam, keep up the good work! 👍
@@WeekendWatchRepair Take your time. Life, Family & Friends are always first! But I look forward to you impressing me, again ;) Yesterday evening I saw the one with the (dark/)red sunburst dial and calender wheel wich is total my color :o Stunning colorgrades! The rest of the watch is'nt mine at all - but the dial!
That’s a beautiful watch……I remember go every Sunday morning to the movies a watch Bruce Lee movies back home in Puerto Rico with my uncle. Does were the best time ever. Thanks for the memories ❤️
Now this watch call my attention it has everything to be one favorite for wear every day and enjoyable to see day and date and the blue dial. Vintage become modern❤❤
At the 54:21 mark I mistakenly said June 7th instead of January 7th. I'm pinning this comment just to correct that error and state that the giveaway will take place on Sunday, January 7th.
It’s a beauty
Would you be so kind to list the part numbers & or sources for the crystal & gaskets?

How VERY TRUE!!!.

the big reveal on the blue face - WOW. i want it.
The one thing Seiko does that has always impressed me is their dials. This one doesn't disappoint!
Even though my SARB017 is green it has the same radiance. Love my watch
That’s an amazing face! I hope to enter for the next give away.
Great watch, love the history of this piece. Thanks Adam for the great video.
Another incredible journey, and a spectacular result. That watch is stunning. I have now fallen in love with this watch model.
Great video, very satisfying to watch and what a great looking watch.
You can never go wrong with a Seiko! Love the color combination with the blue dial and orange seconds hand
I couldn't agree more, on both points!
I'm glad i found your channel. Excellent quality video, voiceover and technical explanations! Thank you so much.
I really like just relaxing and hanging out with your videos. Congrats on the milestone, and many more!
my first exposure to Pogue and Bruce Lee terminology, thanks for decrypting it for me
I remember my grandpa used to always brag about the seiko watch he brought back from WW2. If only I could find it. It was really special to him. It sucks that it was lost after he left.
Wow, just seen the link on osa, first time seeing this far into a watch. Very well done
Thank you.
One minute it’s 1k subs, then in no time at all it’s 5k - then blink and it’s virtually 6.6k! Well deserved recognition - and what a great watch!
I just love this whole family of watches🤩you always know your wearing 6139👍🏻Seiko fan
As do I. Thanks for watching.

I love what your doing on the channel
Thank you.

Next time!

great video really enjoy the technical tips and the short history of the movements
Love watching these when I get off work and am about to fall asleep. Thank you for sharing your watch repairs with us!
I have several. A bellmatic from 1970’s and a John player special . Alex Hamilton did an overhaul on it. Seiko’s are great watches. Thanks for posting
More than 7500 subscribers to celebrate reaching 5000 subscribers! Nice! This Restoration is gorgeous, bravo!
Thank you for choosing this watch to give away. Hopefully it will get a second long life on the wrist of its new owner!
Love the vintage look of that Seiko. Bruce Lee chose to wear this style watch makes it even cooler 😊
Great video of a stunning watch. Thanks
Many thanks!
Wow, what a complicated watch. Amazing how you keep all the parts organized.
Those 70s Seikos are workhorses! Absolutely love them!
Great looking watch awesome video!
Thank you!
I'm not sure how I fell down a watch repair rabbit hole but this channel popped up a week ago for me and I've been enjoying it.
Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful!! Love the blue face. Great job on that refurb!
Thank you very much!
I watch you during my brakes I drive a truck and enjoy the way you explain yourself while braking down the watches.😊
Great job. You must get all the best 6139’s. Most don’t run this well on a rebuild.
Thank you. This one was in exceptionally good condition to begin with. Not all of them are like that though, including some others on the channel. I've done enough of them at this point that I can generally get them to run pretty well, but it may require much more work than this one needed. I prefer the vintage seikos over the new ones they just have more character
A Seiko chrono is something that only exists in my wettest dreams. I simply love them
I'm just starting to learn about watches. I love videos like these because I get to learn and see the craftsmanship without destroying anything.
Great work, and very entertaining. The watch looks fab. Love the dial.
Glad you enjoyed it.
What a beautiful watch my faves are the ufo or captain willard I recently added the bellmatic to my list thanks to you. My grandfather left me a sports 150 I've a seiko man every since
Good choices!
I recently began learning more about these Seiko chronographs and think they are phenomenal value for a vintage chronograph.
Remember from childhood i opened bunch of watches, always been facinated how it's working. Unfortunatelly never learned to put it back together. Now it's just sattisfing to attend on same process, at least virtually. Great vintage piece.
This movement is amazing and the blue sets it off. I love watching your videos, got my son and I tinkering with watches. Thank you
That is fantastic!
I am always amazed at the level of skill and dedication of youtubers of the watch making community
I've been watching watchmaking videos for a few months now, and my wife went and got me a watchmaking kit for Xmas. Down the rabbit hole I go!
That is awesome!
Seiko dials are really in a class of their own. I was surprised how little repair was needed, if only Seiko QC was as good these days as they used to be.
Insanely well preserved 6139! I was under the impression that Bruce Lee only wore a Universal Geneve Polerouter - Cool to know he wore Seiko as well.
The blue dial on this watch is amazing. I am fascinated with watching these videos. I am looking forward to the day when I can start working on watches.
I love the look of the classic Seikos. They just look right.
I always love vintage watches. I am entertained see how they are assembled and work. I love watching your channel.
Thank you very much.
After watching a ton of repair videos, I found a channel that predominantly works on my favorite movements I love seikos
The legendary Seiko 6139 chronograph movement is certainly one for the watch history books! Would love to own this piece of history!
Bravo I enjoy it's so peaceful. I don't know to much of watches it's not my domen but this is art. Keep up. Cheers.
Thank you very much!
New subscriber. Just found your channel this weekend and have been binge watching your videos 😂. Congrats on 5k.
Thank you!
That dial is amazing. No question. That is a deep, oceanic cobalt pearl and it is pristine.
I have the same watch which I have owned since 1980 and I love it, great video by the way
That's fantastic!
There's something about Seikos from this era that is just amazing, Great work with the restoration.
Seeing your work and listening to your dialog is always a welcome treat. Thank you for keeping these historic pieces alive.
That dial is a real beauty. Thank you for making these videos that are both educational and relaxing at the same time.
Incredible to see the ease and knowledge you have with this movement! Wonderfully informative!

lol, you caught that did you!
The blue dial is one of my favorite of the old Seiko dials. Thanks for working on these old Seikos - I'm working on a number of these for my collection! Thanks
Wow that dial is insane! Can't believe it's lasted so well, they don't make them like that anymore.
Seiko is certainly right there at the top in precision and appearance.
Congrats on your 5,000 subscribers! Thank You for your generosity with the giveaway.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this ERA of Seikos & it's so FANTASTIC to see your very careful restoration & preservation of this watch as you said they're only original once!!!.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That is a spectacular dial. Seikos of this era are special.
Incredible Seiko, I'm trying to find one of these to make a restoration like yours!! ....but if i win that one, I'm not going to complain about it😬 Thanks for such an amazing video!!
Thanks a bunch.

Congrats on making it to 5k subscribers! Your content is super relaxing and engaging! Anyone who gets the watch is super lucky!
I love vintage seiko cronos. This one was incredible inside. Thank you for sharing your vast talent and knowledge.
My favorite watch cases are from the 70's. Beautiful.
Always cool to see how nice everything is when the glass comes off.

Among the Seiko chronos this may be my favorite, even over the Pouge. Plus it's practically my birth year.
Once again a great video. The time and effort you give to each of your videos, and the information you provide in them is greatly appreciated. The winner of this watch is going to be a very happy person.
Indeed a beautiful watch. I'm pretty new to your channel but I absolutely love the way you do these great videos!
Thank you very much.
Awesome Seiko. I always wanted a Bruce Lee. They are super cool 🔥🔥🔥
I agree, they really are.
Such a lovely example of a wonderful chronograph. Congratulations!

@@WeekendWatchRepair Now you made me really curious 😃 Could it get even better? I doubt it but we will see. Can't wait for it - when do you publish?
@@Interstate66 It will be a bit. I've got a few things left before finishing the watch, and will then start work on the video.
@@WeekendWatchRepair Take your time. Life, Family & Friends are always first! But I look forward to you impressing me, again ;)
Yesterday evening I saw the one with the (dark/)red sunburst dial and calender wheel wich is total my color :o Stunning colorgrades! The rest of the watch is'nt mine at all - but the dial!
I’ve always loved Seiko, there’s something about the cost to quality ratio that keeps me coming back!
Happy 2 see another vintage Seiko back in service. Great job!
Love your explanation of how to service this watch. Thanks for posting these. It really helps all of us understand the mechanisms much better.
I've got my uncle's seiko sportsmatic, he wore it in Vietnam. I had it serviced for the first time in 2016... These watches are true workhorses.
Always liked this case design. Glad to see these getting rehabbed.
Came to watcht the Bruce Lee of watch repair 😊
Haha, I wish!
Love this video. Being a fellow Aussie. Good to see some cool stuff come from our side of the world
If all your vintage Seikos are like this one, I may need to move to Australia!
That dial is incredible. Great work
I can watch these video's for hours, beautiful timepiece!
Nice video sir! Keep up the great work!
Thanks a bunch.
To win this watch would be a dream come true, but I’m contented just to watch these beautiful videos.👍👍👍
