Thanks for the very detailed review. I too ride with glasses and wear a Mod 3 now. I tried the BV2S and really didn't like the effort it took to get my head up in it and the tightness of the area around the temple for the glasses arms. You made mention " Until I try an Oxygen Helmet" . I would really like and trust your review of an Oxygen helmet. So if you have tried one, please do a review. I am now looking at the new Exome and may try one. The Mod 3 has worked great for me with the exception of falling apart at the coin driven screws but I modded mine to stop that
thank you for the feedback. The BV2S is a really tight fit. It does work for me but I also find it very restrictive. If I do try out an Oxygen I will definitely post a review. Dino
I bought this helmet 3 years ago on sale and am only now about to start wearing it on my new sled…. Great review… thank you for familiarizing me on it.
Excellent job, I thought this video was very informative and very well put together. Seems like a great helmet for those of us that wear glasses. But since I do more off trail back country mountain riding I'm afraid it may not vent enough for an active rider. It would be great to see you do a review on both the ckx mission and titan helmets. I myself em leaning towards the ckx Titan with the heated goggles, along with a battery pack so I don't have a cord running down to the sled.
Snowmobile riding looks great for winter. The helmet you have seems to have many useful features. I have only ridden my motorcycle in the snow once on a mountain pass and so I understand the issue of glasses fogging from exhaled breath. The mouthpiece/nose ventilation looks good - and seems like a necessary thing to have. As you say the fit around the nose and face is important as is the functioning of the one way valves. The drop down sunvisor is important even for a motorcycle rider (I have a helmet with one). Wearing sunglasses means you have good vision when the sun is shining and you can struggle for good vision in shaded areas - I find it very useful to flip the sun visor up when on a road is in shade and flip down when back in the sun - also safer.
Great feedback Mal, thank you for taking the time to respond. It's nice to hear from a motorcycle rider and know we share similar struggles lol. Thanks again Dino
Glad you enjoyed it. My friend Duane bought his bv2s at the same time as me, he has a few comments you can read bellow. He has since switched to the oxygen helmet and says he finds it better than the bv2s for glasses. Dino
Hey Dino, always thought they were a pretty wild helmet, I had a modular 2 and found it was ok but the breath evac system that exhausted on the sides of the helmet was fairly tricky to close without getting bunched up where the ports meet when closing the face area. The vision field that the BV2S offers is good for sure.
Good video. It was a decent Helmut when I had one. When it was all balanced it work well. I have the oxygen helmet now and it is not the end all to the fogging of glasses but as the bvs
@@DinosTinkerShed I would stay with the oxygen helmet. It has better vision and the visor goes inside the helmet so it stay warm and doesn't fog. There is a spot in the helmet glasses arms so glasses sit better, especially with bi focos. Helmet is still a pain to put on . It is also quieter Helmut with the interior ear muffs. Only thing is when stopped in order to have a drink or snack have to take Helmut off, is a drag. With the new Helmet cable the light on back works with the sled lights and brakes.
Fellow eye glass wearer. Here is my opinion for those that are considering this helmet. Cut to the chase, this is the worst helmet I ever owned for the following reasons. For context I have own 2 skidoo modular helmets ( mod 2 and 3 I believe) and currently using the Oxygen. I agree with all of your points. The helmet is painful to put on, literally causing you to grimace while putting it on. The vision is not nearly as good as the Oxygen. The mouth piece did not fit my face well and my glasses fogged continually. The filter and valve system is cumbersome and not well designed. If you remove the valve, your lips will freeze and chap. The light on the oxygen is powered by the sled power, no need for a battery. The neck skirt is too short, Oxygen is much longer and a better design. Save yourself the aggravation and buy the Oxygen or look at the other , newer, helmets such as the Advex or Exome. The Oxygen has a learning curve for it to work with glasses. Its not perfect but can work well if you know the "routine" needed. I hope this , along with this very well done video , helps someone with their helmet purchase decision. The Mission Helmet is also a very highly rated helmet worth looking into. My son wears that and is very satisfied. Great job Dino. I Subscribed.
Thanks for the review It was excellent I also wear glasses and am always looking for any advice I do use the rear light but notice it turns off when its real cold I also use a Modular helmet and it works great with no glasses fogging They are just colder and noisier One thing they are better for is rubbing your nose if it gets ichy The BV just doesn't have any ventilation so balancing the temp is a bit slower and my glasses fog a bit longer I am all Ski Doo but thinking of the CKX Mission for this year But a bit unsure if it works as good as the BV with glasses still looking for a review as detailed as yours

Thanks for providing this informative video for ppl who wear glasses
Nice job Dino, love the co star in the cyclops video. I have the bv2s helmet as well and it works well.
Thanks Joel, great comment, and I know the co star appreciates the feedback lol.

Thanks for the review! Appreciate the input. I tried wearing contacts to not worry about fogging glasses, but that was another nightmare lol.

I would agree. My son in law has a modular 3. He likes it but as you said it is a bit tricky to get set up well.

Sorry sent before was finished.
The glasses still fog up at first as the bvs but when the helmet climate is balanced is all good.
Thanks Duane, good information, if you needed a new helmet now which one would you buy?

It’s July, time to start thinking about this seasons gear 🤦
Good call, I'm working on video planning now.
Thank you for the comment.

Thank you for taking the time to give everyone your feedback. Glasses are by far the worst thing under a helmet but it's worth it for the riding.
