    In this video we took an Ayutthaya (อยุธยา), Thailand day trip tour from Bangkok. After visiting a temple, we then at Thai boat noodles, visited a few more attractions in Ayutthaya, and finished the day with an epic meal of huge freshwater shrimp, one of the best foods to eat in Thailand!
    Ayutthaya (อยุธยา), Thailand - The drive from Bangkok to Ayutthaya took about 1.5 hours, and we rolled into Ayutthaya sometime in the middle of the morning.
    Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon (วัดใหญ่ชัยมงคล) - Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon (วัดใหญ่ชัยมงคล) is one of the most significant and interesting ancient temples to visit in Ayutthaya. What I like most about the temple is being able to climb to the middle level for a nice view over the temple complex.
    Boat noodles at Kuay Teow Reua Pa Lek (ร้านก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือป้าเล็ก) - After visiting one of the famous temples in Ayutthaya, we then headed to eat boat noodles. The boat noodles were alright, but they weren’t the best I’ve had. They were actually a little on the sweet side for me, but still good.
    Wat Mahathat (วัดมหาธาตุ) - Another one of the must see attractions in Ayutthaya, locate in Ayutthaya historical park is Wat Mahathat (วัดมหาธาตุ). One of the most well known sites at this temple is the head of Buddha which fell down and has been wrapped up inside the roots of a tree.
    Freshwater prawns / shrimp at Rauen Sai Nam Restaurant (ร้านอาหารเรือนสายน้ำ) - One of the best reasons to go to Ayutthaya is to eat freshwater shrimp. They are absolutely sensational. On this day trip to Ayutthaya we drove over to a restaurant called Rauen Sai Nam Restaurant (ร้านอาหารเรือนสายน้ำ). The giant freshwater prawns were grilled with nothing on them, and they are truly some of the most amazing single ingredient things you’ll ever taste in your life.
    Rauen Sai Nam Restaurant
    Tang Luang 347 Bang Pa-in District
    Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya 13160
    ร้านอาหารเรือนสายน้ำ
    ที่อยู่ ทางหลวง 347 บางปะอิน
    จังหวัด อยุธยา
    It was a great Bangkok day trip to Ayutthaya, and I especially enjoyed the freshwater shrimp!

      I watch out for Wiens' videos too. I like how the Thai take pride in their country, keeping it clean, no littering, the roads are clear, the street food is hygienic and traditional Thai. They have a sense of national pride, unlike we Indians, who're more nationalist than patriotic.

      Madi Silver hehehe yeah, I have been following Mark's channel since summer 2014. His videos helped prepare me for my backpacking trip to Thailand later that year. Since then been hooked in his channel for nostalgia and food 😋

    • @madisilver460
      @madisilver460 7 лет назад

      Ossie N did you vlog/blog your backpacking experience? I have a young cousin who is currently teaching in Thailand and I hope he shares his experience. Honestly I never had an overt curiosity to visit any Asian countries, however, the more I watch these and a few other travel vlogs-im becoming more and more intrigued with the notion. what made you visit Thailand?

    • @francis_n
      @francis_n 7 лет назад +9

      Madi Silver unfortunately I didn't vlog my trip, I was too busy having fun. Hehhe. In all seriousness no. In 2014 I quit my job of 8 years and decided I needed to see more of the world beyond Europe. I'd never been to Asia before so did all the research and decided on going to Thailand, Loas and Cambodia alone for 4 months. I chose Thailand because I heard so much from friends about it and I have also been curious about south east Asia too. Thailand was the main country I stayed in as it is very easy for tourists as the infrastructure is there and boy do you live cheaply on £ $ or € each day. The culture is so warm and inviting and like how you see on Mark's videos the food is incredible. I love how you can walk around streets and see these outdoor type canteens and eat so cheaply. If you have a few weeks or a month or two I highly recommend getting out to at least Thailand. Was the best decision and the greatest thing I've ever done with my life. When I see Ayutthaya in this video I remember with tears in my eyes my time there and I remember it was Marks video that got me to know about this place.

    • @madisilver460
      @madisilver460 7 лет назад +4

      wow! That's dope and bold as hell. I'm so damn cautious about everything-that I tend to talk myself out of daring things-like "Deuces job, hello brave new world...I'm coming to explore ye." Thanks so much for this Ossie. I feel encouraged and inspired! I've been wanting to travel New Zealand for the longest. I need to get there-and apparently Thailand as well. Shout out to Mark, eh?! Take care, sir. I'll see you around in these comments. LOL :)
