    I love this - I could follow along by memory, having read and studied Genesis in English, and Spanish. What a great way to learn. Thanks for providing these videos - submersion in the language of the Bible, the culture, and my favorite part, the History! God bless! (I love learning biblical Hebrew!)

    The pacing is great here as it matches the individual clauses (breath units/groups); even though it is a simplified reading it works really well. Love it. Re-watching! You guys rock.

    I have been learning Biblical Hebrew for a while now and I always find exclusively Biblical Hebrew resources with Modern Hebrew Pronunciation. Which is annoying because I already learned how to differentiate ע א and ח כ and I didn't want to mentally separate them.
    So now I opened this up, waited till you got to the end of day 1 and you pronounced ע correctly.
    I immediately rose from my bed and promptly subscribed. You're the best.

    • @Cenindo
      @Cenindo 2 года назад

      The pronunciation here used does not, however, realize the entire system of "soft" consonants, but does like Modern Hebrew: That is, the distinction B/V, P/F and K/CH (the latter as in Scottish "loch") is maintained. However, D, G, T are here always hard, even where the letters dalet, gimel, tav lack the dagesh. "Properly" dalet without dagesh would be the soft "th" of English "these clothes", gimel without dagesh would be "the spirant sometimes written "gh", and tav without dagesh would be the unvoiced "th" of English "think". The latter distinction is normally reflected in English Bibles, e.g. Nathan for what modern Israelis will pronounce Natan. In some pronunciations, the soft "th" has become S, as when "berith" (covenant) is sometimes rendered as "bris" (used = circumcision), or when (religious) truth may be called "emes" (for proper Biblical Hebrew "emeth", or to a modern Israeli, "emet").

    I had to make some slight adjustments while reading with you. I usually read the Yemeni Classical Hebrew dialect. This means Vavs become Waus and Tavs are said as *TH* as in "the". I'm really glad you make these videos. It helps me with my studies a great deal. If you would like to check out my videos feel free.

      Yes, only the first few phrases are the exact biblical text, after that it's a simplified paraphrase telling the story, to help beginners.

    JHWH jest zniekształceniem od YA-ŚIVA-Ś, w rozwinięciu ŚIVA-[YAŚIVA-Ś]-IVA; SZABAT pochodzi od polskiego ODPOCZYWAĆ jako ODPO-ŚIVAT; PESAH od SPOŻYWAĆ jako ŚPOŚIVEŚAH, a w rozwinięciu ŚIVOŚIVEŚAH; Siedem to po hebrajsku... ŚIVA; CHANUKA to Poświęcić jako POŚIVAYAŃ-ĆAŃUKA oraz OCZYŚCIĆ jako OĆIŚ-ĆAŃUKA; RUAH jest od WIATR jako VAYATRUAH, a w następnych etapach jako: ŚIVAYATRUAH → ŚIVAYATRUH → ŚIVAYATRODŹIVA → ŚIVAYATRO-ŚIVA, a ŚWIATŁO jest tu zniekształceniem od ŚIVAYATRO, gdyż wszystko jest ze Światła ŚIVY...

    Ah, so good!
    I decided in past time not to comment on anything on line. I am breaking my own rule just to comment on this one video. It is titled "Experience the joy of Hebrew" and I found great joy in viewing it. All of your videos are good but this one is my favorite: God's Creation and there is much joy in seeing what He has created and hearing it in the LaShon HaKodash. Tp
