The final scene is perhaps the greatest piece of acting in movie history
Had me in tears Hanks acting was so incredible! Top three actors in history in my opinion & should have received an Academy award!
@@WayneAnthonyHolmes-ez9mh makes me cry as well. Not just when he was a young man, but even as he's in his 50's 🥺
Probably Tom Hanks best scene
And Tom Hanks wasn’t even nominated for an Oscar that year. But it was a crazy stacked year, it was Leo in Wolf of Wallstreet, Mcconaughey in Dallas buyers club, Christian Bale in American Hustle, Ejiofor in 12 years a slave and Bruce Dern in Nebraska. Underrated year for sure, inside llewyn Davis, all is lost, prisoners (Hugh jackman should’ve been nominated) her, snowpiercer, gravity, under the skin, captain philips, gravity, act of killing. Great year for movies
The scene with Hanks in the ship hospital is incredible.
The girl treating him in the medbay was a real US Navy medic, not an actress. She was told to do what she would do as though this was a training exercise.
@@larrybremer4930 Yes, Paul Greengrass loves using 'non-actors' in roles. He has done this in many of his films.
Hanks' acting the part of someone traumatized and disoriented was unbelievable. The navy corpsman treating him also did an outstanding job.

This movie is incredible. It felt SO real and you could feel the fear, desperation, and suspense through the screen.
The acting was absolutely phenomenal. The pirates (Muse, played by Barkhad Abdi) in particular, were incredible actors and it was hard to believe they weren’t real pirates. The last scene with Tom Hanks had me shaken to my core as well. He did an amazing job portraying trauma and shock… it was mind-blowing acting!
This is one of my favorite, and honestly underrated, Tom Hanks movies, his performance is amazing and the film is so good! Loved your reaction to this!!
Facts brother
the medic was a real navy medic. the director told her to treat him like any other patient. she froze up star struck on the first take and tom hanks joked with her that he was supposed to be the one in shock. the 2nd take is the one that they used. the captain of the ship they were on was standing next to the director. he had tears in his eyes and he said "i've seen trauma before and that's it."
What they're chewing is qat or chat, a leaf chewed in all the Africa Horn (Somalia, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea) which is a stimulant. Some people there chew it all day and night as it gets rid of sleep and stimulates the body.
Recommendations for true stories for Lia & Viki:
"The Longest Day" (1962)
"We Were Soldiers" (2002)
"Black Hawk Down" (2001) Directed by Ridley Scott
"Patriots Day" (2016) Directed by Peter Berg
"Deepwater Horizon" (2016) Directed by Peter Berg
"American Sniper" (2014) Directed by Clint Eastwood
"Zero Dark Thirty" (2012) Directed by Katheryn Bigelow
the snipers are from US Navy Seal team 6/DEVGRU red squadron one of the best of the best🔥
This movie is soo good, id say this is some of tom hanks's finest work, especially the last scene where i do believe the lady was an actual navy corpsman. The grass they were eating is called khat, and yes its a drug.
That really happened..thats the insane part..and you really REALLY dont want to mess with the SEALS....to execute those shots on a moving target with wind on that distance..with waves..thats insane..
Tears came out when the snipers shot the pirates🥺
kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
I never get desensitized to his breakdown at the end...I'm wrecked every time.
By international law, it is extremely difficult to arm cargo ships
Legally they can be armed in international waters since hardly any regulation applies there. The problem is they have to enter territorial waters and ports in different countries where gun laws vary wildly or are outright illegal to bring into the country. With no international standard it's just too difficult for a ships owner to assure local legal compliance and it's not good for business to risk being accused of smuggling guns, having your crew arrested and prosecuted, and ship seized.
The only film I saw back to back… I watched it and I just stayed in my chair and no employees bothered me ❤
Barkhad Abdi who plays the lead pirate is a Somalia immigrant to the USA prior to doing this film..and lives in cold Minneapolis ,Minnesota
Hi. Did Vicki say to Lea, "Oops, sorry i speak Bulgaria?" I missed it. 😁 Vicki and Lea are awesome. Dont worry, your English is cute even if not perfect. Thanks! Btw, Tom is great as usual. 😉
At the end " THAT'S WHY YOU DON'T F--K WITH THE UNITED STATES NAVY SEAL TEAM. THE BEST OF THE BEST. PERIOD
dear homies one of the greatest real incident and with incredible actor tom hanks its a excellent movie.
“Just keel them!”
😂 You sound like a Bond villain. 🧐🐈
Finally you're reacting to this. I can barely find reactions to this movie. For some reason reactors don't find this worthy 🤷
Tom Hank was amazing in this movie. His performance in the last scene was so good that it was a little hard to watch because it felt so real
And remember, never travel with Tom Hanks hahahaha
When I first saw this, I didn't know that Tom Hanks was in it 🥺
Amazing reaction at the end for Tom Hanks.
I love to see you 2 react to ‘We’re The Millers’ great comedy movie absolutely hilarious! I hope you 2 haven’t seen this movie yet it’s from 2013 great cast like Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis. Really enjoying The Homies movie reactions keep up the great work! 💜🔥
Will you be doing United 93? Another sad and tragic Paul Greengrass movie but very worth watching.
NEWS OF THE WORLD - another good Tom Hanks movie.
Viki, I'm a fan of moments like at minute 15:00 where your hand is on your face, do it more times but with your hand on your nose hahaha
theyre eating khat leaves. its a stimulant.
Love Tom Hanks. Love the movie & love the channel. Can't go wrong with a Tom Hanks movie ♥️
The homies is back with another banger!
This is a true story.
Khat is what they are eating, it’s a stimulant
Cargo ships don't do any fishing, so they can't be anything to do with a lack of fish in the sea.
The western and Chinese corporations dumped a lot of waste in their water and use what little fishing spots they have. So they see all foreigners are the same regardless of what job they are doing
@@74A-N That's ridiculous & the cargo ships are using international waters.
@@andrewq159 But Thats Just how they view it from there perspective. Theres a history of foreign corporations exploiting Somalian coast line. So they dont care about the specifics of international laws, they see everything as fair game. There was a journalist on Joe Rogan Podcast who was taken hostage by Somalian pirates. He goes well in depth how the culture of piracy is over there. And you have to remember its mostly psycho warlords who call the shots, so not much reasoning and logic behind their organizations
I hope the movie Greyhound (2020) will find its way to your list of "Tom Hanks movies to watch and get goosebumps" :D
Vicki's so pretty and sweet
The Homies Truly Such A Awesome Video Today!!🔥🐐🐐💎
Omg the last year I was asking for this video reaction thanks
Great Reactions To This Great Classic Movie, Ladies
Many countries have many poor people, but in most very few hijack cargo ships.
Based on a true story
The stuff there eating is called KHAT . It's a form of speed. I think you know what that is. Right?
I LOVE you all so much but the sound volume is sooo low with the movie and yourselves compared to other reviewers. PLEASE consider addressing this for us all. Humbly, Thanks
I never saw the movie, but I remember the Maersk Alabama hijacking, and I've seen a documentary, so I knew the ending of the movie.
Cheers 👍😊
React to Zero Dark Thirty
They should do a reaction to Bruce Willis Navy Seals movie Tears Of The Sun Director's Cut. Made by Antwon Fuqwaa the same director of The Equalizer movies. And they should definitely react to Conan The Barbarian with Arnold S. Director's Cut too epic. The Kingdom with Jaime Fox and Jennifer Garner is another great thriller movie.
Tom Hanks is The Best 💯
React to Concussion 2015. Good movie and based on a true story
THE BEAR next?
I will just say this, other countries were the same way at the beginning. Yours too. But, we created industry, built homes, cars , etc. They could have done that too! But THEY chose not to. So.......
I seem to be blocked from your channel on Patreon. I'd really like to be a subscriber to your account but Patreon won't let me. Can you help with that?
This is a really good movie
Great video.
They are NOT forced to do that. Remember how you thought they were fishing? They could do that. They chose piracy instead. And dirty hobo piracy, not Jack Sparrow fun piracy. All I see are guns and gangstas.
They cant fish because a lot of wastes is dumped in the water off the coast of Somalia. The only clean(to minimum standards) are few and usually used by other corporate contractors. You should really research The history of that region or watch the jre pod where he interview a man taken hostage by pirates
And you have to remember their region are ran by warlords who can be worse than the cartel. Wit dealing with that sort of element you do whatever they tell you to survive
Always someone 🙄🙄
this happens all the time ... also their are many laws you have to break you have guns on your ships and go to another country
Based on true events ^^
Please reaction in movie Storks
After like 500 movies you haven't watched before, it would be more interesting to do the movies you have been watching.... (sorry)
Hi viky 😍
Love your look ♥🌹
Beautiful sexy charming and super cool 😘
Hi vikioutofspace ❤
Yes it is a drug like cocaine
👍 it's called khat, and they chew khat leaves because of their stimulant and euphoric effects, which are similar to, but less intense than, those resulting from the abuse of cocaine or methamphetamine.
@@Blandina11 yes I couldn’t remember the name. In Uk my Somalian colleagues were always chewin on it and it was legal here for a while until the authorities found out what it did
You guys cut the video when the pirates say "maybe in america irish, maybe in america" This word have so much meaning. Why they're do this.
