i totally loved one last stop. it is one of my most favorite books. since i love science fiction and anything queer, finding both things in one book was a blessing. i enjoyed it so much. personally, i found all books by casey mcquiston pretty amazing. they write so well.

4:14 i love casey mcquiston's books so much. because yes, they are MASTER at writing romantic plots that feel like one for the ages but also, the way they talk about queerness & community & friendships & the way they write characters - ufff, i have yet to find an author who does such an exceptional job in all of these fields. i always consider cmq romances as literary fiction disguised as romance because they make cry so much because i related too hard to one of the characters. also the way they include atmosphere & culture into their book - the 70s songs, queen, the food, the places in case of one last stop - it's sooo well done. literally all 3 of their books are my faves. and their 4th book is coming out this august!! i will literally read their shopping list istg!!

oh my god, i love your recs so much! i read quite a bit of queer fiction, and let me tell you, i squealed when you mentioned casey mcquiston's one last stop! it is an amazinngg book! and thank you for all the indian author recs too. i feel like every time i watch a queer book recs vid, it's usually the same few books recycled over and over again, but i should've known to count on you. my tbr just grew ahaha.
as for book recs, buckle up, it's gonna be a ride.
firstly, adiba jagirdar! her books are amazing. brown characters, based in ireland (which is where i live so love that even more) and muslim rep like ahhh these were made for me. i'd recommend starting off with hani and ishu's guide to fake dating, it's my all time fave.
second, you mentioned casey mcquiston, so you must check out their other book, i kissed shara wheeler! it is chef's kiss. the selling point: unapologetically corny american high school sapphic romance.
third, well, i don't know what you'd think of fantasy, but 'girls of paper and fire', a trilogy by natasha ngan, _eats_ . it's brilliantly written, kinda angsty tho, also please ensure you read the trigger warnings
there's also 'last night at the telegraph club' by malinda lo, which is a really great book, but idk if the ending was happy per se. like it ends, (spoiler) and then there's an epilogue where they meet again, but it's all really hopeful, as far as i remember.
and lastly (for now), 'this is how you lose the time war' by amal el-mohtar and max gladstone. im like, currently reading it still, but im a sucker for happy endings too so i know that this gem's got one.
hope you enjoy! thanks again and i love your channel sm

If you want some sweet graphic novel recs I’d say Bloom, On a Sunbeam, The Magic Fish (deals with family), Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me (it’s a happy ending for friendship, not romance) and Heartstopper (the comic is better than the series)

2:05 i have approx. 1.3k+ queer books on a database of queer books i created and omg no! there are soooooo many feel good queer books recs!! i'm gonna write some below (most of these are ya contemporaries or fantasy or adult romance so enjoy!)
SAPPHIC YA contemporaries: (* implies authors have multiple feel good queer books)
    1. 6 times we almost kissed (and 1 time we did) by tess sharpe - it's sad but not due to queer reasons but more due to family & personal problems. brilliant angst with happy ending!!
    2. hani & ishu's guide to fake dating by adiba jaigirdar* - bengali sapphics & fake dating *chef's kiss*
    3. never ever getting back together by sophie gonzales*
    4. how to excavate a heart by jake maia arlow
    5. you should see me in a crown by leah johnson
6.she gets the girl by alyson derrick & rachel lippincott (wife duo)
    7. i kissed shara wheeler by casey mcquiston - this is basically if student of the year by karan johar was queer & focussed on shanaya & taniya being messy sapphics.
    8. she drives me crazy by kelly quindlen
    9. the lesbiana's guide to catholic school by sonora reyes
    10. not my problem by ciara smyth*
    ACHILLEAN YA CONTEMPORARIES:
    1. the black flamingo by dean atta
    2. all that's left in the work by erik j. brown* - post apocalyptic book. has a sequel coming out but can be read ss s standalone with a happy ending.
    3. felix ever after by kacen callender* - trans boy (more like demiboy) main character!!
    4. ander & santi were here by jonny garza villa - some funky things with gender going on here for the genderfreaks like me!! beautiful book!!
    5. icebreaker by a.l. graziadei
    6. autoboyography by christina lauren - will make you cry because it's literally about a closeted mormon guy & a bi guy falling in love in utah!! but happy ending!!
    7. this is why they hate us by aaron h. aceves
    8. here the whole time by vitor martins
    9. they hate each other by amanda woody - super cute ya romcom!! i was giggling & kicking my feet while reading it!!
    10. fake dates & mooncakes by sher lee
gonna make a separate comment about ya fantasy & queer romances but 11:23 i want my bouquet of flowers 👀

@@mess.sania. i think they're talking about the book 'strangers' by taichi yamada. i have not read the book so idk if it's queer or not. but it inspired a queer film called 'all of us strangers' directed by andrew haigh and starring paul mescal, andrew scott (the hot priest from fleabag) and claire foy. the film revolves around loneliness of being queer and also parent-child relationships. it was beautiful but very tragic! highly recommend tho!!

Feel Good and/or Happy Endings from queer books I've read:
Cafe Con Lychee by Emery Lee
Here The Whole Time by Vitor Martins
Fake Dates and Mooncakes by Sher Lee
I Wish You All The Best by Mason Deaver
    Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall
    Prom by Saundra Mitchell
HEARTSTOPPER (the entire series of 5
    graphic novels) by Alice Oseman
This next one can't be called Feel Good:
Find Me by André Aciman (It's the sequel to Call Me By Your Name. First book had a sad ending cause they don't end up together but the second one shows how they do meet again. I'd say it's not really a feel good book because the entire time I read the books, I had this kind of a sad nostalgic cloud over my head but worth a read. And of course read the first book and then this one.)
Other Queer Books you should read:
Husband Material by Alexis Hall (Sequel to Boyfriend Material)
Blackout by Dhonielle Clayton, Tiffany D. Jackson, Nic Stone, Ashley Woodfolk, Angie Thomas and Nicola Yoon (Multiple POVs and stories)
They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera (this one is so heartbreaking yet probably one of my favorites)
All That's Left In The World by Erik J. Brown (The sequel is going to be released in the month of May or June of 2024)
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid (This isn't a queer book per se, but has the idea of it and how it wasn't very well received back in the late 90s even in the States)
    Solitaire by Alice Oseman
Queer Books I've not read yet but are in my TBR list at home:
If You'll Have Me by Eunnie (graphic novels)
The Music of What Happens by Bill Konigsberg
    Youngblood by Sasha Laurens
Kiss & Tell by Adib Khorram
    Autoboyography by Christina Lauren
Heartbreak Boys by Simon James Green
We Deserve Monuments by Jas Hammonds
To everybody who comes across this comment (including the author of the post), who are book lovers and queer, y'all are beautiful.

The Provincetown Tales book series by Radclyffe includes books Safe Harbor, Beyond the Breakwater, Distant Shores, Silent Thunder, and several more. It is the gayest shit I have ever read. The emotions, the plot, the dialogues, the steam ufffff! It is like 2 decades old but worth it *cries in happiness*

Also recommend “Just As You Are” by Camille Kellogg.
    1. Absolutely no straight characters
    2. Jealousy
    3. Kitchen sex
    4. Butch lesbian + androgynous queer woman romance
    5. Happy ending!

Didi, try out "That Summer Feeling" by Bridget Morrissey. Bought it in a bookshop in Shimla recently and it was wonderful. Incorporates queer realisation in your 30s. Also have heard great things about "The Jasmine Throne", it is an Indian mediaeval-ish fantasy sapphic novel series by Tasha Suri.

    9. the abyss surrounds us by emily skrutskie (duology - sapphic)
    10. the raven cycle series by maggie stiefvater followed by the spinoff, ronan trilogy (4 books) - my favourites of all time. the writing is spectacular and the queer romance starts from the 2nd book kinda but it's like a god level too tier romance.

12:22 Holy shit, yep that's me. Love is love, even if it is heterosexual. XD
Also, my parents won't give me money to buy lesbian books (or any queer book for that matter) so I have a huuge collection of lesbian books in my pc. (Thank god they don't supervise my computer activities, I'd get killed if they give just one look at my search history)
Off the top of my head:
    1) Her Royal Highness.
Princesses, Duchesses, Queens or any lady in a position of authority just makes my heart go boom 💥💥
    2) The Space Between Worlds.
Characters who are in a sci-fi world just happen to be gay for each other. Two of my favorite genres. Explores some existential themes that resonated with me. Don't read the second book. It's shit but just know that they are married in that book ;)
    3) Anything and Everything written by Jae, a German author.
    Some of her books:
    Under a Falling Star
    Damage Control
    The Roommate Arrangement
    Bachelorette No 12
    Wrong Number Right Woman
    Etc.
She also has a website wherein she recommends lots of sapphic books. (All of them with happy endings)
    4) Lee winter is another writer you might wanna look into.
    5) The Henna Wars & Hani and Ishu's Guide to Fake Dating.
Both of them have Bengali characters, even if they are Bangladeshi, as an Indian Bengali queer person, the rep means a lot to me.

Princess Princess Ever After- its a comic book. its okay but I liked the comic part of it.

    Novel by Adiba Jaigirdar.
she has book similar to that Hani and Ishu's Guide to Fake Dating
Book by Adiba Jaigirda(I didn't read it though)
like ❤Heartstopper is my favorite❤ both the show an the book. I have exams coming up in the next month I will let to know if I find any other books.
i actually got tired of reading lesbian books because of the drama. The family doesn't accept but they eventually do accept her. i cry at that time. I don't want to relive that same moment again and again.
    Don't worry. I'm fine.
