That Austin Healey @1:21 has some advanced safety features..automatic air brake in the form of opening doors when going backwards after spin, good stuff!
The best thing that surpassed all safety features, was the ‘auto eject’ when the car (and many others) rolled over. Even going back to the DeLorean. It was never crash tested properly and then they found out when it was on its roof no occupants could escape for eg fire/drowning as the gull wings couldn’t open upwards! ‘Back to the futu….’ Drawing board!
@@stumpusMaximus I remember the Lamborghini Countach had the same issue when rolling over, so they had the brilliant idea to supply it with a tiny hammer which wasn't even good enough to crack a nut, to smash the front windscreen lol
@@randomsurfer3963 Maybe they made the front windscreen from tempered glass. It's dangerous for this purpose, but under such condition, the hammer would have worked.
Saw some amazing machinery at the Classic, spent all 3 days there then laps myself, with a slight thought of any oil spills after them but was all good! Well, from the classics atleast 😂
Beautiful cars beautifully driven. Thank you. This had made me want to reread Moonraker and Casino Royale, for the bits with Bond in his supercharged Bentley.
that's what I think about when I watch videos like this and the goodwood revival races too! I wonder if fleming ever considered writing a bond book partially set during a grand prix or other race.
Sehn die karren gut aus oder sehn die gut aus ? klingen die Dinger fantastisch , gro0artig oder nur sensationell ?! ist es eine Freude sowas zu sehen und zu hören ...oder ist es eine belästigung ....
Cracks me up how slow the crashes are... we've come a long way! What is that ersatz silver arrow type thing bmw? Never seen the like. Super cool to see a Bentley blower and the little Bugatti out there!
1:22 Probably the same Austin Healy that swerved in 1955 & caused the tragedy at LeMans. At least it didn't cut off a Mercedes-Benz SLR this time......
I think you must have to have a lot of trust in your fellow drivers to race these cars. they are so valuable (culturally and historically as well as financially), they are a labour of love, and the drivers have so little safety equipment. if you are a reckless driver I imagine you stop getting invited very quickly!
It's time he learned to drive that Austin Healey 100A, or better still take the keys off him before he wrecks it, They have ladder chassis with a very twitchy and very light back end.
Some static positive camber, different tire carcass construction among many other details. As cornering forces rise the tires roll in concert to maintain contact patch and progressive handling. Watch some of the Goodwood revival races - you will be surprised how agressive ... and exciting the corner action is.
all this negative camber on the front tires...what where they thinking at the time? i mean for real there must have been a reason for it or physical thought process about it.
It is done so that the steering kingpin lines up with the contact patch of the tires, to lighten the steering. Also, the cars were inherently oversteery as they use live rear axles, so the negative front camber introduces some understeer to wash some of it off...
Although some appear well driven, it looks like most behind the wheel in this video do not have a racing licence. Different racing organizations do have different rules, but roll bars on pre-war cars do look bad. Just folks out having fun with their old cars!
ce dlc va faire paraitre monotone le jeu de Polyphony Digital !!!! traduction: this dlc will make Polyphony Digital's game seem monotonous!!!! 💚💛❤🤣 +1👍

I thought it was an automated euthanasia system for the driver, should he actually crash into something.

Oh mein Gott wenn das die Kreta Hexe Thunberg sieht how dare you
Nothing but respect! No garage queens, just fun and a lot of heart 🙌🥳
5:27 was what You had in mind I reckon ....
Don't forget those unrealistic expectations?
very nice classics, Thankyou Auto Addiction
Richtig schöne Autos, bei denen es total interessant ist sie mal im leichten Grenzbereich zu sehen. Starkes Video!
Wonderful to hear the engine sounds as single cars come past.
Saw some amazing machinery at the Classic, spent all 3 days there then laps myself, with a slight thought of any oil spills after them but was all good! Well, from the classics atleast 😂
I love the classic and pre-war cars. I always watch the races at Goodwood every year.
Great to see them driven the way they were supposed to be!
Some great classic racing cars there. The DKW was a surprise. It was going like a rocket.
Bring back the two strokes
need more of this!
I hope you got a chance to see the Bentley up close to get an appreciation for how HUGE they are!!
Got to love prewar cars seeing them race around on a track rather then gathering dust in a collection or museam
The Bentley and Bugatti.... Stunning. Thanks so much for the video!
These older cars are music to my ears
Sehr cool wie die Jungs "Gummi" mit diesen wirklich wertvollen Oldtimer geben, RESPEKT!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Sehr nice. Danke !
3:37 DKW ❤
Awesome event! Unbelievable they still dare to race those oldies.
Love those pre-wars. Quite some MG’s out there !
Love these old machines
That Is Awesome!!!👍👍👍
That “321” car was absolutely sending it!”
0:31 please don’t crash that beautiful car
Sehr schön dass diese Kunstwerke noch artgerecht bewegt werden.
Great to see these old classis being used as they should be.
that bentley is MASSIVE
This was a great video
Danke für dieses Video
At 3:46 , that Audi Quattro!! Wow!
4:03 this car has veritable motion stabilisers for cornering
Some cracking cars there!
Wow some nice classic here
1:21 The reversal was not far away, and there we predict nothing of their life given the total absence of arch-type protection... 😦
.... could have gone wrong in more ways than one .....
Einfach nur herrlich anzuschauen
shock absorbers of that Healey are totally rotten.
Nice door adjustment on the Healy
Very cool, some track limits were exceeded. 😀
Hats off to those who have maintained these cars all these years ,doing what they were made to doo.
Love the old roadsters & Bentleys.
ENDGEIL!!! DANKE für das tolle Video!!!!!! Grüße

Its crazy!!!
Awesome 😍🤩
Man it has been a long time since i haven't heard carb engine sounds
Add in some misfires and the odd clutch slip on hard changes!
Fortunately no significant harm seemed to be done to the Healey 🙈
Sehn die karren gut aus oder sehn die gut aus ?

2:24 kinda looks like a london taxi ngl
Seeing so many guys out there getting a little slidey, it makes me wonder how many are on extremely old and unsafe tires 😬
Why would any owner endanger both car and passengers by not using new tires to go race?
That particular part of the course is super tricky. I've raced it on GT5 hundreds of times.
richtig flotte bzw heisse kisten u sauberes racing😎
Nice!
What camera do you use?
Surprising that so many of the classic cars are right hand drive.
I think it is because usually they raced clockwise, so it's better weight distribution for right hand turns
this is very cool
The Healey with the door open is some proper old fashioned spin management right there! Get it shut, turn it around and off for another lap old boy!
Sadly something got bent though it seems.
@@philipberry6477 oh that’s a shame - hopefully it’s nothing too serious. Looked like great fun!
you could make a list of all cars in the video
You do it :P
I think some of the old cars have tires as old as the car. Hard now.
And some of those pre-war cars sounds so brutish. First time i actually heard them
minute 1:45, the tractor engine in the Healy glugged its way thru.......
Here he comes, here comes Speed Racer. He's a demon on wheels!
The most old car thing ever is the door opening on spinning.
Cracks me up how slow the crashes are... we've come a long way! What is that ersatz silver arrow type thing bmw? Never seen the like. Super cool to see a Bentley blower and the little Bugatti out there!

1:24 ...not the car used in Sturm der liebe ?
Little more speed and The Healy make a Roll🙈and this without Cage....
Nobelschröder Edition
Forget all the Lambo & supercar vids, the REAL money is HERE 😮😅
The Austin 100 door opens . This happens with these old 50's and 60's cars .
The Veritas @7:26 is esquisit!!!! $600k for that German beauty.
What is the car @3:08 that spins out??
I think it’s called “A work of Art”
@@RodSwansmad truly it is. Just beautiful. Thought it may be an Alpine or something Italian.
Veritas RS
... those are the real cars, real petrol perfume, manly motor noise, real driving skills required by men with big biceps and balls!!!
I love those old cars.
Back when there was no government nanny state to dictate anything and everything a bureaucrat's empty heart could desire.
Весьма смелые джентльмены 😊👍
That Bentley Blower is worth 12million euros.
👍👍👍
What a pity if one of these beautiful classic cars would be destroyed in such a race 😭
I have to assume that if you're going to race it, you can afford to fix it.
It takes some seriously massive cohones to drive those pre-war classics around a track like that.
I think you must have to have a lot of trust in your fellow drivers to race these cars. they are so valuable (culturally and historically as well as financially), they are a labour of love, and the drivers have so little safety equipment. if you are a reckless driver I imagine you stop getting invited very quickly!

wastegate chirp and a bang. Quattro
Keep a wide angle on the "S" turn. That's where the action is all the time. Nothing exciting about cars running down the straight.
2.22: BMW Veritas!!
whats with the camber on these cars?
Some static positive camber, different tire carcass construction among many other details. As cornering forces rise the tires roll in concert to maintain contact patch and progressive handling. Watch some of the Goodwood revival races - you will be surprised how agressive ... and exciting the corner action is.
3:24 .. looks like John Oliver lol.
According to BABVVO and TEBBVO laws from 2027 on in EU all combustion cars banned from public streets!!!!
dont fall out or roll them !

Some are being very well driven , others ,well need some work on their lines
coool
I understand they are vintage .But why would you not have a roll bar ?.
A motorbike (or even a horse) also doesn't have a rollbar, yet people ride them.
Although some appear well driven, it looks like most behind the wheel in this video do not have a racing licence. Different racing organizations do have different rules, but roll bars on pre-war cars do look bad. Just folks out having fun with their old cars!

5:05 Will she or won’t she blow chunks?
when cars couldn't be operated via space
this video is super choppy at times
Sorry Elon. Until your E.V. can create the same adrenaline rush, i.e. make sounds, you'll stay in the garage !

Laptimes?
🤔 but Fun per km 😊
I'd want to be rich just to drive the shet out of those 100yo race cars, grandpas be driving like they are in the garage
Great ‘refresher’ for us old farts club! 😅
Cough cough cough.
