Pseudo Saturn ISO

MODEL 2 DISK SWAP INSTRUCTIONS:
First put the backup into the Saturn and turn on the power. Leave the door open. The system will attempt to verify the disk and will eventually stop at the CD player screen. This will take about 30 seconds to a minute, depending on the disk.
Once the disk has stopped, remove it from the spindle and place an original disk on the spindle.
Make sure the sound volume is turned down so that you can hear the laser assembly motor. Hit the reset button on the Saturn and the disk will begin to spin.
The laser will [1] move to the outside of the disk (this will be the first thing you hear), [2] read the security code on the edge of the disk (you will also hear this), and then [3] move back to the inside of the disk (this will sound like the first noise.). When you hear the third noise, wait at least 1 second and then swap the disk. If the swap is performed correctly you will see the normal “Produced by or under license from Sega” screen, and the game will load. If not, turn the Saturn off and start over.

Love the convincing "i would never ever do that" the smirk really makes one believe you.
Thanks.
L O L he was obviously lying
His disclaimer was EPIC.
It's not illegal if its abandon ware.
Thanks for the Model 2 trick in the description! I tried the conventional methods so many times without any results, then came across yours on Reddit. Worked on the first try!
I love you....your swap disc instructions for the model 2 saturn worked like a charm. You just don't know how many failed attempts it took and how frustrated I was trying to do it the other ways.
Key Notes glad it worked for you
Your suggestion for the model 2 in the description worked for me after trying soooo many other methods!!! Your right the timing is a pain but I got it by gawd!
Joshua Schipmann awesome glad you got it figured out.
The smile....i would never do that. Awesome. :)
this was a really good tutorial. i still need to get the action replay but this is something i will need to to in my life. thanks for the video
My GAWD! THank you so much for helping with model 2, that took hours from my life with other peoples videos. First time with your video and it worked!
I did get a menu that was different from yours on the saturn when I swapped the disc but I just selected Fash Cart (I think thats what it said) and then it brought me to the normal menu. Took about 5 mins all in all. Thank you!!!!
Awesome!
Me too!! I wanna say thank u so much for your help with Model 2! its crazy cuz I think ur the only person on RUclips that explains this properly! before I found this video i was putting in hours and i couldn't get it to work as the method is abit different to model 1 anyways thank u so much for your help! liked and subsribed *^_^
Nice vectorman title music at the beginning there! A lot of that sonic 2 music covers actually sound really nice.
Thank you my friend, the easiest tutorial and the one that worked for me! Wish I found that earlier, could haven spared my disc drive some wear and tear..
Thank you so much. I will be installing the softmod on my day off.
Thanks, this was the only method that works for me (Model 2 JP)
PSA TO ALL PSEUDO SATURN CARTRIDGE OWNERS:
Do not soft-reset the Saturn (by hitting all face buttons and start at the same time) while playing a backup via Pseudo Saturn. Just did it and it temporarily made the Saturn stop recognizing the PS software.
This was an awesome tutorial. Thank you so much! Quick question though; after re-flashing an Action Replay cartridge with Pseudo Saturn, will it still be able to hold save data?
Man you are man! Awesome tutorial, I have model 2, I tried the swap disc with your method. At the 4th time I managed to do it. Now I can play Magic Knight Rayearth without paying 160usd on ebay wowwoowqjqojoq
Easy to follow, thank you so much.
Thanks! This is the easiest explanation I've found. Can't wait to try it.
Its pretty cool Saturn is one of my favorite consoles.
8 Bit Flash Back so apparently my Saturn is the hst-3200 model which seems to be the ONE model that doesn't have the plastic lever to tape together. I dont know how else to make it work with the tray open and it sucks! thoughts?
There should be a sensor for lid still i think on yours its attached to the top half of the saturn you need to determine how the switch works by opening and closing lid then tape or wedge something where needed.
here is a link that shows a picture of your switch this may or may not help you recognize it www.ebay.ie/itm/142279371056
Hmm, so something on that black dongle part needs to be taped down most likely? It's hard to tell what
This was helpful, thanks!
Epic intro. Pissed myself laughing😂😂😂
Awesome! Thank you.
Sweet, thank you!
Was going to try this tonight but of course I'm our of CD-R's. Is there any certain brand to use? I know some systems are picky on which blank discs you use. Thanks for the great video!
I use cheapo Memorex discs, most of the time I've had errors writing were due to poor ISO rips, and checking versions of Pseudo Saturn shows that in some cases, it wasn't even the discs' fault, more due to the particular version of PS that was on the carts.
Great explanation, work in my saturn (versión 2)
i just got myy pseudo saturn..thats why i noticed my batt dont save even after buying new batt...thank you for the vid..just made my own back ups
Worked perfect! Thanks!
justawajz Your welcome
I love pseudo saturn so much!
its pretty cool for sure
I expect myself to blade like Ric Flair doing this.
thank you!!
I do the burnt games to protect my originals. If I couldn't, I wouldn't of started Saturn collecting. So expensive now a days!
i collect burned copies. rofl
Dang I've been out of the Saturn scene for about 4 years. This would be been so helpful. You can't do the swap trick with an action replay and I needed one because I filled the internal memory really quickly. Kinda killed all motivation I had for the console. I still have the action replay I should jump on this. Now that Policenauts and Sakura Wars have English Patches.
I need help getting model 2 to work. Pseudo Saturn disk spins slow goes to cd screen
Can you do a video with game shark card and the other sega saturn
thanks
So I can't find this exact info anywhere online easily without digging deep into old decade+ year old forums, but when you say the Action Replay will be wiped of everything when installing the Pseudo Saturn software, does that include the 4 MB RAM capabilities?
Basically, if I install Pseudo Saturn (or I guess Pseudo Saturn Kai now) on my Action Replay, will I be able to play games that require the 4 MB RAM?
With mine i still could. I tested marver super heroes vs streetfighter 4mb game and it worked.
@@8-Bit_Flashback Ok great, thank you! So all I'll basically miss out on is the save backup capabilities? Or will it simply erase what save backups I have on there at the time of the install, but leave future save backup capabilities intact?
What's the minimum or max speed of burned cd-r's that the Sega Saturn will accept? I have a PS1 and it will sometimes read games burned at 16x, but when it does, the audio usually starts to skip. And my burner won't burn slower than 16x.
You just stick the cartridge in just like that when it's on?
What if i still wanted to save my game data and still maintain my pseudo saturn cartridge? would i be able to save game data to the system while using the burned game, then swap out the pseudo cart with an unmodified action replay cart and back up the saved system data to the unmodified cartridge?
bvigil1888 the only way is to buy the CHINA modded version "Saturn 4-in-1 cart" (it is based on Pseudo System but keep all ActionReplay feature). No idea how did they do it, but it works.
@@esprithk Yeah, that's the only drawback of the AR cart hack. Ordered one of those 4 in 1 carts because I was stupid and ordered the one that was just the PS version, just to make sure it worked (though I got a really nice bargain on my JP console, the three free pack in games made up for the expense).
I already had an action replay I bought back in 2016 to save games on after I bought an official backup ram cart from ebay that didn't work. I bought the never opened action replay to see if the issue was with my saturn or if it was the backup ram cart. Sure enough the issue was not with my saturn.
I opted to buy an already hacked cart instead of doing all this stuff in the video to my saturn and to my action replay. Now when I want to make sure I have backups I'll just turn the Saturn on and copy my saves to the action replay.
So if I use this method can I take out the cart and put in a Saturn memory cart? Because I don’t have enough space on my system memory
So if I have a buddy with an old Saturn with a chip in it, can he just flash an AR without having to open up my console and do a swap trick? I mean his chip should read the pseudo Saturn iso without having to do anything right?
Slims X yes that should work
How many model of the original are there? I opened mine up and it didn’t have a switch to tape. Well at least I couldn’t find one.
Does it work for a Japanese (model 1) saturn to play EU or US backups? Thanks. :)
Isozone has been down for a while now... Any other place I can find a safe copy of the ISO?
ppcenter.webou.net/pskai/
What is that adapter plugged in Saturn's controller port?
what kind of cable do you use for that lcd tv?
Okay what of the psudeo saturn down load do you need to put on disk as the link on here don’t work
panzer dragoon saga works with the swap trick every time for me.
the link for the iso links to a lame top 10 site now, is there another site where i can download it?
so I have done the swap trick on my model 1 and I am using the same exact disc brand you are using in this video (memorex). Am I doing something wrong?
I have used the NIGHTS and Sonic R game disc to do this and it either goes straight to the system menu or it goes to the black Sega screen and hangs for a bit then goes to the system menu
I require assistance asap. My cart all of a sudden gives me the error message: Invalid Region set! Error -1. I tried reflashing it and it worked for one session, but now it's giving me the same error. I've had the cart and used it multiple times before and it worked perfectly. But now it just gives me this error. Any help would be appreciated.
Right, I've got a model 1 that has a different layout, that has (maybe?) got that Switch needed to be covered up by tape that is connected to a power thing that is on the lid.
Is there any solution to this? (I live in the UK, and that might just be the reason why)
You have may already got this figured out, but for you or anyone else reading (also the same for Victor V-Saturn and any other with this switch) you can bridge the two pins on the switch or stuff a peice of cardboard in there to hold the switch down.
HELP NEEDED BADLY: it works great, i can play burned stuff, but theres no option for AR or memory card space. am i supposed to goto "REFLASH AR" ? and in doing so would that destroy its ability to play burned stuff bc it would be back to defaults?
Buy another action replay and back your saves up to that
Thank you :) but. I do not know why. After installing pseudo saturn. My console can not see free space 4 MB in my action replay for save game :(
nyku2 When You Put The Information On The Action Replay... It Deletes Its Use As A Saving Cartridge
Can you still save games and would the cheats still be there?
Thank you
With this method, can you play a game that requires 4 mb ram expansion card to run?
After start the game, can you remove action replay and put a 4Mb ram card ?
my action replay I use in the video has the 4mb ram and still works after hacking so no swapping necessary
8 Bit Flash Back thanks.
Where can i find video or link to use this method with a model 2 console?
Alexander HD it should be the same as this video, only thing diffrent is the flashing lights you have to wait for the boom sound on the Sega logo intro and swap fast. It's harder but it does work.
Is this same for a model 2 EU model as I’m having a nightmare
Just to be sure - I have just bought a pre flashed action replay cartridge (was literally the same price as a normal one)
- once a back up game has been loaded, to save a game I take it you can remove the pseudo cartridge after the game has loaded and insert a normal saturn memory card?
spinksy173 did you ever find out about this?
Nope you'll fry your cart then the port on the Saturn eventually.
I'm fairly certain all games save to the internal memory by default. Just wait till you're done playing then use your backup cart to save the games.
in 2021 there is no more iso :( the iso website maby was taken down or it doesnt exsist no more 😥
Do verbatim disc not work with pseudo saturn?
I see that preudo Saturn cartridge in online stores,it's too many version and kinds of cartridge,i think if can i this cartridge buy,no one games i don't need in CD version, just if i need hack of this
Will this work with a action replay version 1.94?
Your swap trick is different then other people's swap tricks. With the model 1 yours is easier because of the CD Activity light.
Does this product actually have cheat code compatibility?
Silly question, but would this work the same on a PAL Saturn?
It should be region free
Buy a Pseudo Saturn Kai Cartridge from Etsy.com, just plug and play no faffing about.
@@paulgraham4567 Cheers but this way is cheaper and doesn't look too much hassle.
Panzer dragoon saga feels like an exception...
If you just get Pseudo Saturn then you don't even need Action Replay right?
You still need to have it to play backup games. Without it you can play original disc, Action Replay play origin disc and unlock region.
John Smith get you on ebay 4-1 all features and saving bro and play any games for 49$ red cart I have one works like a charm no swap tricks bro
ISO zone was taken down, you should probably update your video
What's that in the controller port 1? A wireless adaptor?
Rodrigo Molinsky yep
Which one? I'm looking for an option.
This is what I have but they are not cheap..www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-2-Sega-SATURN-Control-Pads-WIRELESS-CONTROLLERS-Battery-Covers-NAKI-DOCS/372317402364?hash=item56afd8b4fc%3Ag%3AUKwAAOSwz4FbCuib&_sacat=0&_nkw=nakki+sega+saturn+wireless+controller&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=m570.l1313
Cool! Thanks a lot!
does this hack also allow me to play PS4 games on my Saturn? also Ive heard this installs Siri on the Saturn and allows the Saturn to run Crysis and mine Bitcoins, is that true? Thanks
Are you implying you own a copy of Burning Rangers or that you absolutely don't lmao
