While I dont live in Santee, I go there weekly from Lakeside(10 min) , due to its proximity to freeways, its literally 30 min from anywhere, you have access to ALL freeways literally from the 52, 125, 8, 15, to the 805 and 5... Does the 52 E/W suck in the AM / PM, you bet...Santee USED to be thought of as the sticks when I was growing up in Mira Mesa the 70s, but now that the 52 is there, easy peasy...
I have lived in Santee most of my life. I 100% agree it’s a sleepy town. It’s only a town for young families and old people. By the time you get to high school the town gets boring. If you are a couple that doesn’t plan to have kids or live the bachelor/ bachelorette lifestyle, it’s not for you.
You nailed it! Great for families and retires…. Would not recommend it for younger demographics who’d prefer to me closer to nightlife and trendy bars and restaurants

I live in a strip of county land between Santee and El Cajon. Santee has lower sales tax than El Cajon (8.25 vs 7.75) so I tend to shop there most of the time. Home prices in ALL of California are out of control. I bought my home 22 years ago and its value has doubled. $700,000 for a starter home? Insane. It is no wonder people are leaving.
I agree- it’s crazy what our home prices are compared to most other states. Places like Inland Empire and Riverside and growing because you can get into a new build community for under $600k.
I totally hear you - that why Im sharing affordable cities as well on my channel. You don’t have to be a millionaire to afford Santee, I currently have an amazing turn-key home listed at $725k.
@@LIVINGSANDIEGOCA And I can't afford 750K for a home and wouldn't buy it even if I could. Obviously you're not looking for seniors on low fixed incomes are you?
That’s what they use to call it - it’s far from that now - have you been in the last decade? Totally diversified community - just run some errands to see WHO lives there now / not pre-2000’s 🤷🏻♀️
How about the biggest con you conveniently failed to mention. Affordability and way overpriced right now. It was overpriced 25 years ago and its much worse now.
It’s all based on supply and demand - prices are so high because of the demand and willingness to pay Would you sell something for $200k if people are willing to pay $800k

Not another R.E. agent!!! Housing is not affordable right now. If you are a multi millionaire ok but middle, lower class, forget about it.
