This is the most helpful video I've found on this job! Thank you so much!
thank you so so much it means a bunch. many more to come!
I’m currently at tech school right now and I’m starting my 4N0 classes on Monday! I’m super nervous but thank you for the video
Ofccc !! take your time and good luck! you got it !
How long is tech school?
@@willanthaclarke37 phase 1 is 14 weeks at Fort Sam and phase two is 6 weeks at 5 different locations you can be selected for
I currently have my NREMT and i want to know, do i have to go through the EMT portion again? If not, how is it avoided?
@@sierrafranklin6232 with the AF you can skip over the 6 week course. They just need a copy of your certificate
Thank you very much. I was told I will be shipping out on November 22 and my job is Aerospace Medical Space. Hope everything will be good for me.
wishing you the absolute best. enjoy basic as much as you can! ill be here each step of the way !
Hi, I know this is a few year old video but I was just wondering if you had any certifications before getting into this MOS?
Because I saw on the USAF Website that one of the qualifications needed was a National Registry of EMTs and I don't have one 🥲 does that mean I'm not eligible to get into this MOS? 😫
Hey I saw that you got micro braids for bmt and I was thinking about getting some too. I leave in a couple of weeks and was wondering would you recommend this hair style, before I get it done
hello ! absolutely! mine stayed through the entire time & could’ve lasted past basic training. it’s way easier than having to braid/bun your natural hair every morning. i’d 100% recommend it. good luck at basic & in your career ! :))
@@zanabbbss Thank you so much ❤️
Thank you so much! I leave day after tomorrow to bmt. I haven't been stressin about Tech school, because my focus gotta be on BMT right now. BUUTTTT, this is my job and I definitely have questions! I start Tech school @ Ft. Sam Houston June 1st. They say I wont finish until 10/29, how relaxed is the last few weeks? My wedding was suppose to be 10/16 in Houston, and now it looks like Im moving it 🙄. Also since Texas is open now, Im originally from SA and Id like to have lunch with my family on weekends for a study break. Do you think that's even possible?
if your family has military ID they can come on base and see u at anytime but u cannot leave base anymore during tech due to covid
Can you upload more videos about after tech school? Like do you enjoy your job? Where are you located now? What did you score on your asvap?
I can do one soon, i haven’t known what to talk about as of lat but i think that is a great idea ! thanks ! Im sure my asvab score is in another video but once i figure out today ill and let you know !
I’m in the army and did the medic training but have to do it again when I switch over to the the Air Force. How was it for prior service and what they could and couldn’t do
so i actually was in class with someone who was army however they were mechanical before they came to the AF.
army trains where we do & let’s just say 4N0s are not like the armys combat medics. as an air force member you’ll be paper tested a lot more. of course you’ll have skills (hands on portion) & then you have to take registry (NREMT).
as for actual day to day life they’re TDY, so you have your freedoms. you’ll more than likely stay in a hotel, come to classes as trainees do, etc. there aren’t really any restrictions aside from not communicating in an unprofessional manner with the trainees & not smoking during training hours.
let me know if this helps, if you need more info i can ask a few people that went TDY during my training.
You explained it really well! I got this job and ship out august 24th 2020!
I had one question though with this job would also require to clean up patients like or do bed baths ?
Meant 2021 🤦🏻♂️
yes it does
How is it :0
What did you score on your asvab test?
New sub here :)
What are the requirements to get this position besides getting an appropriate score on the Asvab?
high school diploma/GED, no record of mental instability, drivers license, 17 years of age.
I leave for Basic in March and this is my job can you give any tips that I can do or study before coming to Tech school for the nremt? And would you film a day to day life in phase 2 ?
hey ! congrats !! so the best advice i can give you is to focus on basic training first it may seem redundant but learning your ranks, the creed, the song, your fitness, & your reporting statement lessens the initial burden & frustration that comes along with basic training.
but absolutely there are these things called “no fluff” books that you can use to study for the nremt i would highly recommend those ( if its something you look into get a 2020 book bc some info changes year to year & i believe every 5 years they re write them). as for the emt tests themselves bc the airforce will test you before you take the nremt i’d say to study the textbook that they give you & know your vocab. bls, anatomy & physiology, & basic nursing are by far super easy to get through so i wouldn’t worry about those.
as for a day to day life in phase 2, i can’t exactly film it in its entirety because i am operational now but i can do a video where i breakdown what to expect & talk about what my schedule was like.
best of luck to you !
I leave for basic training March 23rd for the same job
I have Mod 6 coming up which is so boring to me. I can not focus so far😭😭 but I’m trying not to get complacent because I’m almost done with this overwhelming part. After that NREMT and then skills. Kinda nervous about Trauma and BVM. In regards to the NREMT though, it’s so nerve wrecking because a lot of people have been making it through the mods but then go and fail NREMT(some of them relied on quizlet for the course) I don’t think this is test compromise, and if it is please disregard, but what areas or topics does the NREMT focused on a lot?
NREMT is broad spectrum. Ask your instructor what to focus on they will let you know. They change every year. Focus in on those things. The “Crash Course EMT” books help a lot once you know what you’re looking for. Focus on vocab and any pertinent info you learned throughout the mods, knowing these things will make answering questions easy even when you’re really unsure.
So yea, ask your instructor and do what they recommend. If it makes you feel any better i failed mine the first time around, but i also did not take studying for it important initially, since we had just learned everything. Failing it is not the end of the world however, If you study and apply your self you have nothing to worry about. hope this helps !
@@zanabbbss Thank you so much. It most definitely did help. Just unsure how to study or review the whole book over the weekend. Probably not enough time.
@@kebreannalasha Probably not, if you have been relying in quizlet i would continue doing so. It is a great resource.
my recruiter said I had to add at least 5 mechanical/law enforcement/electrical jobs and says that if I declined the job they gave me I would be ineligible to apply to the Air Force ever again, do you think I should speak to another recruiter idk I feel like he’s low key lying to try to convince me to get a job that’s in demand even though I told him I was more interested in medical jobs
Let me get better insight & update you. From what i know until you are at basic training & even then the military has no true pull on you, even after having DEP’d in. For now i’d recommend talking to another recruiter.
@@zanabbbss have you gotten an answer currently going through the same
@@mariiebarrera9896 hello, just so you know you DO NOT have to put a job you don’t want if you have to end up waiting for that job do it DO NOT tell this person who went through the same thing as you tell you you cannot have the job you want DO NOT ship out with a job you do not want
Do you get to choose where your phase 2 is going to be ??
unfortunately not, its based on the need of the af
i’m at tech school right now and don’t start classes till next month and i’m super duper nervous because i’m an okay studier and a bad tester.
Omg let’s link up!!!
really?? what room are you???

@@tkjday girl i’m 4133 i literally just picked up some stuff from 4178🤣
Can you make a video about the process of becoming a 4nox1, im trying really hard to get this job but my recruiter keeps telling its based on the needs of the AirForce, im tryna go into bmt with this job
hello ! sorry for the delayed response, i can definitely do that. here are some tips until then.
1. currently you are not obligated to do anything for the military so right now as you have certain liberties take advantage of them. the first being say no, i turned down 3 jobs to get this one, you have to communicate to your recruiter that you will not join without this job in order for them to take you serious.
2. your recruiter is right. it is based off the need of the air force & this isn’t the easiest job to get, however w covid around & its unpredictability you never know when they’ll be in high demand for new technicians. so keep trying !
3. if you have any medical experience that will give you a leg up. so any cna classes or certifications. working in a hospital, volunteering.. etc. if they know you’ve done it before it looks better to the air force & they’ll want to put you in that job over anyone else.
i really hope this helps if you have any more questions just let me know !
Can you do video on the list of medical jobs in the Air Force?
so there are just as many af medical jobs as civilian jobs, i can try to look into the ones available when enlisting & make a video. so ill see what i can do for you !
anything in particular you want to know?
Hey. I was wondering, Is it necessary to have a drivers license in order to qualify for this job?
heyy ! yes it is very necessary because you will be an EMT but you could finesse it as long as you're not stationed in an er.
@@zanabbbss Thanks for replying!
@@May-zr7zq of course !!
Do you know anyone who is a 4J0X2 or 4D0X1? If so, can you maybe do an interview with them on their Tech School courses?
absolutely i know both!! ill see what i can do! whats questions do you have currently if any?
Specifically how much of a focus is placed on the physical therapy assistant aspect as compared to the orthotics in the 4J0?
Can we get an update of what it’s like after Tech School?
absolutely
Hey girl. So I just started class today. I’m hella nervous. What advice can you give?
honestly, i can assure you it’s nothing to stress over. best advice i can give you is to stay focused on the goal PASSING. spend your time studying in the way you do best and you should get through everything just fine. enjoy yourself and take it a day at a time, just put forth your best and you’ll receive it.
skills is hands on so be hands on during that time its the only way, everything else is the book *study the book !!*
lastly trust your instincts & ask questions. it’ll take you far.
good luckk !!
@@zanabbbss Thank you so much girl, AND for the fast reply. I was most definitely getting psyched out because a lot of people who have been here has been mentioning that it’s difficult, but I feel better knowing that I just have to pay attention.
@@kebreannalasha ofcc, they will psych you out for sure if you allow them. just remember why you’re there, it won’t seem like hard work.
Did you get this tech school guaranteed from meps or was it after you graduated a school
when i went to the recruiting office i got this job. to my understanding once you’re given or once you select a job it’s yours. unless you go in “open general” and you’re given a job while in basic training.
let me know if you have anymore questions!
@@zanabbbss ah ok. Yeah In the navy we have general medics. Then after tech school you can be picked up for a specialty. It’s nice the Air Force just offers you the specialty straight up.
So you’re a separate job than a aerospace tech
@@DocJacob im sure id be considered a general medic. aerospace med tech is just our official duty title. the closest we get to that is our flight med shred out, and that i believe is determined by your desires and it’s availability and also where you’re placed.
And how long is phase 1? 🤔 thank you!
98 days, not including weekends or holidays. no probs !!
Thank you @zanabbbss 🙏🏽 I was told it was only 3 month tech school, my recruiter wasn’t sure. I am going to BMT next week ! I’ll be going to tech for 4N0x as well and wanted to know how long I’ll be away from my babies 😭 thanks for this video!
@@melaniefrink3353 congrats on deciding to join & best wishes to you in all of your training & career! & of course, it definitely feels like forever especially with covid but it’s really worth it. the job we do is fulfilling, so it makes it a bit easier. & this is coming from someone who hasn’t seem their family in 8 months. so push through & let them be your motivation! good luck w everything ma’am!
Thank you again! I am so excited! I feel very lucky and blessed to get this career field. Last question lol, have you seen or heard of anyone in your Tech school receiving housing? My recruiter said it is possible I could get housing in tech school for me since I have dependents and the tech school is long.
@@melaniefrink3353 absolutely, most people wait only bc compared to the other AFSCs that have tech school in ft sam have longer trainings than us but it’s an option for sure !
