But wait, when it comes to organic listings, these search engines will crawl and index you anyway? The rules you follow from topical authority, on page optimisation, localisation will still be followed by these search engines as well. Doesn’t this only matter when it comes to paid advertising?

Doesn’t this only matter when it comes to paid advertising?
They don’t necessarily crawl or index you - even bing will index only a few pages if you don’t register on their dashboard
Also if you don't have your site in their language they may disregard or lower score your site once crawled.
