I remember seeing the Mysterians as a kid on the big screen on a Saturday matinee. The giant robots left a lasting impression. These were great entertaining movies for both kids and adults. Check out the classic Battle in Outer Space from TOHO for a thrilling special effects spectacular. It was awesome on the big screen.
I saw 'The Mysterians' when I was 10 years old. Unfortunately I went to the cinema by myself... and it was a 7:00 PM session. I was so frightened by so many monsters I could barely move in my seat. I believed every single frame I saw... the worst part was to go home alone... for it was dark outside and I had to walk about a mile to get home. My street was dark... so I ran all the way home thinking the Mysterians were after me. That was the single most frightening moment in my whole life. Today, watching the trailer I can only LAUGH for it is so ridiculously fake... but in 1960 it was a different story.
That reminds me of when I was very young, my mom and dad convinced me that the old Godzilla movies were real. As a kid I always wanted to go to Monster Island and see Godzilla, haha.
Did you ever wonder what the hell the guys at 2:25 are shooting at with the machine gun? There's nothing on the battlefield but that fortress (except for the seemingly lost Mogera that appears briefly at one point later in the battle). You see the same guys in every Godzilla movie too. News flash: Machine guns do not work against alien fortresses or Kaiju. Put away the guns and wait for the guys with big foreheads to unleash their super-scientific can of whoop-ass.
So, did TOHO knock off "Forbidden Planet at 1:46 or is it the other way around for this fantastic shot? Always wanted to see this on the Big Screen! Will it ever be shown at G-Fest? Stay tuned!
It was wrong information. Titanosaurus was only in Terror Of Mechagodzilla. The robot Moguera is in this though, which was also in the 1993 Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla.

The best of the early Japanese sci-fi flicks. As a kid, I loved this film and still like to watch it today.

I was totally mesmerized by this "state of the art" scifi film and still remember the film's sound track.
I want to see the Mysterians and Atragon in its entirely.
My compliments on the quality of the transfer, thanks much!
2023年8月27日に、午前十時の映画祭で観てきました😊。
Toho have great monster movies.. Godzilla, Rodan, Atragon, The Mysterians, Mothra, Varan, Gargantuas, and others.
Nothing like experiencing TOHO masterpieces in the original Japanese!
I love the old Toho movies, me and my dad both grew up on Monster movies from Toho.
Looks like a great show/movie; I'd love to see more episodes. I hope this could be found on DVD. Very nice cinematography.
「ゴジラ」とならぶ東宝SF傑作

Most of what I know about Japanese military technology in the 60s comes from Toho movies.

And watching this film, in the 1950's audience, was a young...HAIM SABAN! Just kidding - he was never young.
