Love the look of the Fisker, but I didn't trust their history of going bankrupt after every attempt to make a car
I mean starting a luxury car business in 2007, I’m sure nothing bad was going to happen next year.
@@okieg8960 but he didn't go bankrupt until 2014. He's really good at creating beautiful cars and fundraising, just not finding the partners to create reliability. I think his battery manufacturer closed the first time
I loved working at Fisker the people I was working with were amazing but I hated how we were rushed to deliver vehicles to customers I just found out they closed their service center in Huntington beach.
Was that the service center you worked at? If so that’s pretty unfortunate

That Fisker fella ain’t no Elon.
What a mess! Those buyers have no one else to blame though. They took big risks.
Didn't do their homework before buying an EV.

When it comes to *"EVs"* , No car company will ever catch Tesla ❕️
I am not into EV ownership just yet, but Tesla and BYD do make a profit per EV sold.
Ford and GM sell EVs at a 15 to 25 grand lost, even with their high cost.
Both the The CEO of Ford, Jim Farley and the CEO of GM, Mary Barra have placed the production of making their EVs on the back burner for now and instead they are Ramping up their hybrid production.
Both companies have put their aspiration of building battery plants in America on the back burner also.
It tells you something when other EV makers are signing on to use *Tesla's Superchargers* .
If I were to get an EV, it would be a Tesla.

Don't blame Magna. The key problem was Fisker tried to do the software themselves and whiffed it. The company didn't have good management.
Same problem with the Karma - software was awful.
Someone needs to make a kit to use a Fisker battery as a power storage device for home solar panels.
That can be done actually, you do need some extra hardware but people have done it with batteries from written off Tesla's.
Why would you trust that batt pack when the entire company is and always has been a scam?
Shame. Good looking cars.
R. I. P. Fisker 😢😢😢

Fiskar lied and said the had break through solid state battery tech. What a crook
Anyone that ever trusts Fisker again is a total fool.
I'll pay $1K for any Fisker available. The battery alone is worth a lot more than that! 😄
L😂L
You better have cash... And storage space and be able to wait a long time...
I was thinking it was worth 25K just as a battery on wheel but Fisker is such an idjut I cant buy one directly online anymore. He switched to a dealer model. This level of stoopidty is mind boggling.
@@godblesshamas - The battery is likely worth about $3-5K to a battery recycler. A parted out car is useful to support other Fisker vehicles, as parts may become difficult or impossible to buy. Not enough volume for third-parties to ever make replacements, although some parts may have alternatives. Break a rim, then replace all the rims with one of many styles available (although expensive).
Or use it to power your house. @@godblesshamas
What are your thoughts about the Volcon Stag? thanks
Fisker was a pretty car. Too bad. Hope the owners don’t get hurt too badly.
Maybe the manufacturer can take over for money owed and revive the brand.
Sam, Tyring or Trying in the title? Small point I know.
RIP Fisker, who's next?
In my non EV I recently had to get a new headlight unit after the inbuilt LED packed up. But will those kinds of parts still be available for Fisker?
No. Once the company ceases trading, the parts system will come a close as well.
Maybe. You can still get DeLorian parts. Someone bought up the remaining parts inventory from bankruptcy at pennies on the dollar and then sold those parts at normal prices. I'm sure it took a while, but in the end I think they did quite well, and it helped out the community. It could happen with Fisker too (assuming they have parts inventory in the USA to buy).
@@tesla_tap The exception with DeLorean does not disprove the rule. When Fisker fails and production stops, these EVs will be quickly forgotten and unwanted by nearly all consumers which makes sourcing new parts _easily_ all but impossible in 2025 and beyond. This is especially true for Fisker as so few examples have been produced.
It is not like if Tesla cosmically became bankrupt and stopped EV production tomorrow as there will always be parts available in 10 years, or even 15 years out from now, for the many millions of Teslas which have been produced.
You do not have own a car factory to build your design car. BMW build their MINI in the Netherlands. And so are Jeep's build at Steyr Austria as well. The plant 'belongs' to Stellantis.
I admit I was wrong about Fisker.
I assumed it would go bankrupt by October 2019.
Pretty funny! Maybe that company that makes conversion kits can help!
OUCH??? that's gonna leave a mark.. hope they get some use out of these cars.
You can’t find one of the discounted ones in the states, anyway. I’ve tried to hunt one down for two days and no one will call me back and the Fisker site will no longer let you order one. I figured, like many other people have, that the batteries will hold value should the car crap out. I am not convinced that there are that many to buy here, despite what some have said. If something changes, cool, but I’m not going to hold my breath.
Use the motor and battery
It’s too bad. It was a great concept and design.
Hi Sam,
thank you.
A man with a vision that was flawed.
I guess when the model T arrived, other companies started up and failed.
A bad financial company plan will fail, if it's cars or plastic tooth brush holders.
Risky purchases if you don't do due diligence.
Great posts
Too bad, I think the Ocean and the other prototypes look great. But the warning flags were from the beginning. Having Magna actually build the car means no money for Fisker Inc to keep the lights on. And all the up front money simply going away while the car software issues upon launch meant no money to develop the platform. Maybe someone like Nissan will pick up the pieces but it won’t;t be covering any warranty work that’s for sure.
A full size EV with a solar panel on the roof is a red flag. They produce so few miles of electricity it's a pointless waste of money. That makes you wonder what other things they wasted money on.
Worse, like the Karma, it never worked. Software was never completed to actually use the Solar roof power (unless v2.0 fixed it for the Ocean).
Believe it or not I have seen a couple Fisker oceans in my neighborhood.
You live in Beverley Hills 💎
I thought contract manufacturing was common amongst auto makers especially in China. Isn't the Merc G-Wagon also made by Magna Steyr?
Yeah also nio wasn’t producing its cars until recently, also the Honda eny is made by a Kia company in china
If they discount them a little bit more then they actually would be worth buying but not to use for a car... If the price goes down to about 20 k or less they would be worth buying and then scrapping the car minus the battery pack because the battery pack you could be used for off-grid/ backup storage
I wouldn't except any ev as a trade
Accept
4th graders shouldn't be driving anyway
Tesla accepts all other EVs as trade, and you can sell used EVs easily to CarMax or dealers. At some point (5 years?) ICE may be the ones no longer accepted for trade as they will be very hard to resell. I expect all buyers have stopped accepting Fisker tradeins and used buys to avoid getting stuck with a unicorn.
I didn't know Tesla took non Tesla's for trade.
Yes they took my Mercedes in 2020 and I wish I Lee they were taking Fisker I missed that boat now in a sinking ship
Idk those Rivian cars are nice but that’s the only other Electric vehicle I’d trust. They’ve also kind of followed Tesla’s footsteps not sure about that vehicles software though
Rumor has it they're bleeding money and will go bankrupt in 1-2 years time.
March 28, 2024 ….Fisker stock loses at 2 cents……Edmunds bought a new Fisker in January, 2024 or 69K…….just had it appraised…..now 21k with only 4,220 miles.
“Closed” at 2 cents
At this point just hold on to the car and hope it appears in a popular movie and becomes a collector’s car like the Delorean.
This whole 25,000 car thing seems to be some sort of marketing ploy to get eyes on Fisker because I looked everywhere and I can't find any of these discounted cars and I started looking the day that they announced it
the problem with car companies that dont build cars. jag wants to play in EV market without the risk ... the problem with the US companies that are just fronts, the middle man to siphon off (not lost) cash .... got some snake oil that will ease their pain, $100 bottle.
Predicting auto insurance will pick up the tab after car go BOOM
Actually, I wonder if any insurer will continue insurance. Some minor repairs may be impossible to fix without parts and service support.
Fisker now trades over-the-counter (OTC) under the symbol FSRN and it closed at 2 cents. 8 cents would be a 4 bagger! LOL
Instead of the current administration constantly targeting Tesla they might want to look at Fisker, Lucid, Nikola, etc. etc.
There is no money for the Government in those companies. And those companies have already contributed to their campaigns.
"Targeting"? Current admin is helping Tesla as one of a handful of US companies that gets a $7,500 boost on almost every car sold from Uncle Sam.

I feel like this might be Rivian soon. They are showing new future models just like Fisker did. Seems like it could possibly be the same story. I hope they make it.
Rivian is in a much stronger position. They own the factory (a very large asset), they are making vehicles in volume, and they have a sales model that works. Rivian also has quite a bit of cash on hand, so I don't see any similarary to Fisker. I share your concern that putting out so many models before you get one vehicle to be profitable may not be a good strategy, but I think Rivian will figure it out.

@@dariorodriguez4394 INCORRECT !!!!!WHY ARE WE SHOUTING!!!!?? - The base model was discounted to $24,990 - but there are no base models in inventory.
You may be right, but it may be there are none in your location. It appears they are not transporting cars across state lines (or maybe only nearby states). A check using California shows many cars for sale, but the cheapest one was $35K or so.
EV start-ups like Fisker, Vinfast, Lucid have disadvantage in terms of after-sale services. If they have no dealer and service back-up nobody will buy their cars
From $28 to 2 cents in less than a year.
Time to buy !!
Fisker new car will discount further in the next few weeks.
Shame Tesla cant use the battery packs.
Zero value to Tesla. The packs are not made in the USA, so no IRS credit. It's unclear what reliability testing was done in the rush to get these out. And the 5,000 or so packs (in cars) that Fisker has made over a year or so, Tesla is making more than 5,000 cars (and packs) every day.
Insurance is gonna hold through the roof as there wont be parts to fix them. Any medium problem will be a total loss.
I bought Fisker in 2020 for 10.25 and sold it in 2021 for 14.25. I felt a bit stupid when it then went up to 28.50.
Right now, if it gets one fiftieth of what I got, just 28 a a half cents, the holders would consider themselves lucky.

This is what I told my friends: just because Tesla succeeded, it doesn’t mean that every other new EV company will do. But they didn’t listen and loaded up on Lucid, Fisker, Nikola, … which seemed cheap compared to Tesla. NOT!
It's clear that finantial was to tight to launch this brand, specially considering the vehicles need to go from Austria to USA too, but to be fair, i don't believe that what Magna produces (the Jagg, this fisker, G Class) is even close to the very first quality of Model 3 in terms of constructive quality and validation.
The problem was the software, for sure the major mistake here, remember ID3 launch with engineers updating manually 20 000 cars already stored? same here.
When first Model 3/Y arrive, they lost steering wheels, glass roofs in the middle of the highway, defficient panels assembly, paint and welding even engineers themselves had to assembly batteries becouse there was not set up ready for the robots, if anyone was once in automotive could know what bomb that will be for the future of these cars.... it was such a mess!
Also, when Tesla was launched there was nothing close to it... so even been the worst car maker according to relaibility surveys, is has been still a good brand from customer satisfaction becouse the product is good (Tesla vision will change that I guess, but ok).
Rivian relaibility seems to be far from traditional OEM as well, but it's another startup with happy customers and really terrific finances, like multiply 6 times the problem of Fisker due their car are more expensive/luxurios, producing them in USA isn't cheap and well, they are not cheap. Here is where i would warn people to take care after Fisker.
Sumarizing, Fisker fuck it up with the software performance and ADAS setup and should have done the 2.0 update before to deliver more than 500 vehicle to first beta testers that latter they could retrofit. But you know...they maybe have not enough money to wait....
I really feel sorry this brand is not succeding, I saw the car and really is amazing from design, confort...
Surely a fisker owner with new prices so low could buy a new car for spares etc.
Hate your hate for ipace
I agree i think it’s the best deal for a used EV at the moment
If it was easy mass producing an EV everyone would be doing it. It's easy to knock Fisker's drive to produce clean green cars, but have you or I done any better? I haven't.
I live in California so I think I'll be okay as far as finding support. I'm in love with the Sea Grass color so I'm gonna get that one.
Wow that's some sophisticated shopping, never mind it's "the worst car ever tested" this century.
Until you need a bespoke spare part....
It is a great looking vehicle…. Oh well 🤷🏾
This is gonna be the same thing for Rivian if they don't profit. All smokes and mirrors.
RiVian got a few more employees they can let go.
Before bankruptcy ⏳️
Rivian is toast.
ruclips.net/video/rTgC28KI2wc/видео.html
Not the same at all. Rivian has plenty of cash in the bank. They are making vehicle and selling them in volume. They own the factory (a huge asset). While Rivian is not yet profitable, I see a path forward that can make them a survivor. They also appear to have far better management than Fisker.
In all honesty, one can't blame Tesla. Let's face it, Fisker's future is a tad shaky. Apart from that Henrik Fisker's reputation at Tesla, after hiring him back in the earlier days, is about as low as it could possibly get.
True
Only one comment is possible - caveat emptor. No manufacturer can be expected to buy the orphan product of another maker. You bought it, you own it. Its resale [trade-in] value is entirely up to the open market. Tough luck, buddy. But you still have the car - drive on!
. .

Most main dealers will not accept an electric car of any brand as a trade in. Other than there own, at a steep discount. Most garages will not accept a Tesla
... but, at least in my country, Teslas sell very well from private party to private party, and with very moderate depreciation (except for the cars bought in 2022)! And, Tesla will definitely take a Tesla as trade in... anyway what Tesla owner would buy anything else?

@@st-ex8506 - Zero problems with Tesla tradeins here (USA) at dealers or CarMax. I can't say for other brands. They don't come up that often because most owners love their cars and they are mostly sold to buy another newer Tesla. It really comes down to value. Even the worse EV has value, either as parts or to be recycled. The battery is usually worth $3-12K to recyclers (depending on capacity and type). There are a few dead EV companies (and dead ICE companies) where they sold so few vehicles, there is no published trade-in value, so dealers don't know how to deal with it.

Read the other comments.
Tesla don't even care to take in 2022 and earlier Tesla's ❗️💲❗️
Depends. If in good condition and has value, yes. If it's a wreck or has high mileage, unlikely. Trade-ins at Tesla are similar to a dealer. Most trade-ins are resold at auction so they only want cars they know they can resell for about the same price. Now that may mean they offer less than you want. That's the same as a dealer, although some dealers will inflate the new car price to compensate for a better trade-in value to make you feel better. Tesla has fixed new car prices so they don't do this scam.
Sam,
The gambling is related for all stock in market. You cannot be sure that your money will be safe in short or long run 100%.
Still your favorite Tesla stock is currently so high at the moment that it is the real gampling too. The net income what this company has made cannot be related to current stock price value at all. MAYBE only then if you think that Tesla will rule the whole world in future with bots etc.
In short investing to Tesla stock on these price level - is gampling as much as anything else.
If you have throw away money buy whatever. I dont. I wont buy a car that may outlive the company it was made by.

Underfunded, unrefined, and not enough attention to manufacturing and software design. Great marketing though.
Sam, in the last week alone, I had watched the launch of Xiaomi SU7, Changan G318, Avitar 12, Changan Uni-Z, BYD Yuan Up, 5 Chinese made vehicles. And the scary part is except the BYD Yuan Up which is a cheap everyday car, all the other 4 had nice new innovations. At this speed, do you think western and Japanese car makers have any chance of winning the race?
Interestingly, i noticed some of those models have construction outsourced to SAIC. Thats what NIO and Jaguar have done. Wonder how to be profitable like that, especially up against BYD that makes everything in house
@@mearino Not really. None of the above 5 cars is outsourced to SAIC. Changan itself is a big car maker as well, it makes the Uni-Z, G318 for itself, it also makes the Avitar branded car which is a joint venture of Changan, CATL, and Huawei. Changan provides the manufacturing, integration, and logistics, CATL battery, and Huawei, FSD technology and electric motors. Xiaomi built its own factory (with the help of BAIC, another pretty big car maker). Xiaomi said its production line could make a car every 76 seconds. I don't know about NIO.

Yesterday they offered me $20,700 for my 2020 Model Y Long Range with 79k miles.
All vehicles depreciate a lot in the first two years. Tesla is no different than ICE cars in that way. What made it worse is the $7500 IRS credit dropped the new car price that immediately hit the used EV prices too. Keep it for 4-5 years and you''ll get far more value from any vehicle you purchase.

It's a great car but they are in need of a $1 billion bailout. They did accomplish a lot for the amount of money they started with. I give them credit there many never brought a car to market Rivian blows through more a quarter than what they had total. I wanted to see this light asset strategy a little longer. The death blow was in the missed timing of the financial statements which broke loan covenants allowing the 2025 to dilute until paid back.

Lucid may be next. Sad, their stock has really collapsed.
Normally you would be right, but it appears the Saudis are willing to put almost unlimited cash into Lucid to keep it running.
