That's the Caswell Mine near Shining Tree Ontario. The original shaft is on other side if river. The Evelyn downstream is far cooler. Yes I've been there digging lol. Best tsiling in the area are at the Rhonda mine shaft 1.
Kevin, couple times you mentioned - 'claim line'. Does it mean that you had to get an approval from authorities for prospecting? If yes can you say how to do it?
In Ontario you need to get a prospector's license. They are issued online and the info you need is here. www.ontario.ca/page/directives-getting-started-mining-lands-administration-system
What I also use is a Falkon metal detector finds gold this size ].] 1.2 inches in ground or any metal does nor ring on fools gold pyrite and rings going backwards on black sand magatight
Man, is there any chance I could be your apprentice? I'm in my late 20s, I live in southern Ontario. Recently this whole gold/geology/mining world has been of interest. Also, I am eastern european like you.
@@exploringnorthernontario9627 I know this is probably not the question you want to hear, but I must know. First of all, are there even any "good" spots located throughout northern ontario? (or southern?). Do they exist? or is it mainly poor spots. Also, just so I can have an idea, from your experience, is it possible to accumulate one gram of gold from panning, in one full day?
@@Matt-cw1mv Hello again. For the most part, a gram a day in the areas I have been is not realistic. However, I have heard of some places that could produce that amount in the Kapuskasing and Timmins area. You will need to do some research and spend some time test panning. I still haven't been able to find the time to get out there myself.
@@exploringnorthernontario9627 hmm i see. damn.. yeah timmins is so far from me.. I will keep kapuskasing/timmins in mind though if I ever want to go camping or something, and try panning. Thank you
Did you try your metal detector first. do you have alot of large stones like you do not know where they came fro I do not know what the Canadian shield look like But I have watch trappers video it looks like all spruce trees
Try where the hard wood foresters cut their hard wood trees and load them on their truck you will find things in the ROCK that has to be tested any ways in the adirondacks@@exploringnorthernontario9627

Yes, that area is full of abandoned gold mines.

The entire forest in this region grows on a deep layer of gravel!

I wonder in which month and in which year this expedition was filmed.
Last May. Haven't had to time to post it.

The gold is too small for the metal detector to detect.
