I'm from kapuskasing Ontario 6h from you. I actually found a crazy spot down here. Big Placer deposit and I found the source. 😊 4 to 5mm pieces of gold everywhere
First time seeing your channel, keep up the good work. Very good video and sharing your location, others do not disclose location at all, won't make them rich hogging info like that, especially if there's not too much gold or silver to be found.... (loved your " I'm an impatient panner "- funny - LOL - last week I did the same as you at a lake, this time in Wilberforce, Ontario, dumb of me panning at a lake! ; ) I think I found specks of pyrite and garnets only.
@@nickkerinklio8239 Each tiny speck worth eight cents? Maybe to a foolish private buyer. But definitely not on the gold market. Two to three cents at the most.
Hate to break it to you buddy, but that area has been claimed, it is illegal to pan for gold there. You are claim jumping. First of all, there are no gold mines around that area. Placer gold comes from a mother lode, from vanes of quarts that have washed out over thousands of years and found its way into rivers and streams. If I were to go gold panning in Northern Ontario, I would go where there are known gold mines, like Kirkland Lake, Timmins, and other areas that have old, and possibly abandoned mines where you can go through some of the tailings. In Sudbury, I would take a trip down Portelace Road and look for small streams and water flows coming off the hill sides. Look for quarts vanes, and white rocks. There is placer gold in Sudbury, because there is gold in several areas around Sudbury. However, Sudbury rock is some of the oldest and hardest rock in the world. It takes a very long time for weathering to occur on such hard rock. Again, gold is not found everywhere in Sudbury, it is only found in certain areas. You wont find big flakes of gold, just flower, or powder gold in the streams and banks. Pretty much every square inch in Sudbury has been claimed by Vale, Xstrata and other big international companies. It is illegal to grab a pan and start panning and prospecting anywhere you like. To find out what areas have been claimed or owns the rights to that area, you have to go to the Land Registry. Unless you know what you are doing, good luck, it cost a lot of money to start looking at a bunch of claims. Thanks for the vid and showing what illegal claim jumping looks like.
I know where I live I have 2 huge rock hills like 50+ feet high and idk how deep but I’m going to dig and search for veins this summer also check the creek with a metal detector. As well as panning the stream or find the river or lake it comes from. But I’m in Muskoka so I’m not sure I’ll find gold maybe silver maybe lead . Maybe even nothing . But I’m going to start mining the rocks even to make a shelter for fun 😂
Js buddy you’d have better luck on the edge of the river bank on a curve . Not on the bank they stuff would wash deep . You’d have to dig like 10 ft that high to get enough to even try and sell
@@exploringnorthernontario9627 Thanks a lot, Kevin! Sorry for one more question - is it possible somehow to figure out on Google Earth map where is the crown property and where is private?
Ontario has numerous laws, lots of the land have many claims, lots of laws particularly regarding environmental regulations near bodies of water. You can't even conduct ground testing without permits and a license.
Thanks for sharing, cool video. You have a nice set-up, spring is just around the corner. Cheers!

Sounds good. I would stake a claim there ASAP!
Would you mind sharing your location with a brother. I’m looking to come up that way this week. I want to get out there and test my luck.

Grace Lake by any chance? 🤔
@@mux1978 how did you know, that's incredible for you to guess!
@@mux1978 you guessed right!
Looks like the black sands of lake Superior have way more gold
Just Subbed! Are there any restrictions for panning on the Vermilion? Great vid!
To be honest, I don't know. I figure a little earth moved here and there won't hurt anyone.🙂
An awful lot of work and time to get maybe one and a half cents worth of gold. Okay…I’ll be generous ….two cents worth.
Do it for fun, anything found is a bonus. So many play video games sitting at home eating junk food, no exercise getting fat
Each of those little specks is probably about 8 Canadian cents worth.

Hello super video like
сейчас я нахожусь в Канаде. Я планирую быть в Москве этим летом. Вы находитесь далеко от Москвы?
How far North do you have to go to possibly find placer? Panned a little hear in Ottawa valley region, black sands only! Great vid!
I would say get north of Hwy 17 at least and research abandoned gold mines in the area. Take care!
@@exploringnorthernontario9627 thx brotha….def have looked at that option 👍 cheers

Southern Ontario is all sedimentary rock. No gold. You find the gold in the Canadian Shield country….in the greenstone belt regions.

Hi Kevin,
Does this river have an access for public or it is fenced as a private area like most areas in Canada?
Its all crown/public lands. There is no problem with access. As long as you stay off existing mining claims.

Yes, it's true. Only big mining companies can afford to pay for all the permits and get through the red tape.
Why would you pick up a flattened oval rock and say it's perfectly round when it's blatantly obvious that it's not?
I had to Google placer gold 😜
me too
Youre not panning properly. Youre throwing it all away
flat bottom pans are for tenderfoot's,
I was under the impression that mini sluices were not allowed in Ontario.
