can you do Disturbed's songs "If ever I lose my Faith in you" and " Hold on to the memories"? They are both phenomenal songs and the emotion they evoke is soul shaking.
"A reason to fight " is one of my favourite Disturbed songs..Both the studio and live versions. You should check them out.. Watch the studio version first. I cried watching the live one. Studio: ruclips.net/video/t4382UVl0oc/видео.html Live: ruclips.net/video/gRGRduyCy_M/видео.html Edited to add the links to the videos.
It is a religious experience, and it has over a billion views now! You are right, I've watched so many reviews and everyone is stunned especially when he growls PRAY it is unbelievable!
I believe PS was referring to the Conan O Brian live, but i might be mis remembering. Any way you view it, masterpiece is written all over it. Stay well
Paul Simon wrote the message...love & light, from a higher power. The message has been forgotten...that was delivered in the 60's. The higher power, redelivered the message....through David Draiman... These are God's words
I love watching reaction videos to this song. As David builds the energy, the reactors start to get excited. And I say “Wait, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet!”
I've heard Pentatonix and yes, it's good but...I LOVE this version do much more. David Draiman is an amazing singer. This song, this version, is my absolutely my favorite song of all time...and I'm 71!!!
This song touched my heart first time i heard it from Disturbed by the time it was over tears were rolling down my face. I was lucky enough to see them do it live.
I'm a pentaholic and I do like ptx version of this but Disturbed's version is just so incredible,, and the video is so intense. I don't think anyone can top this version
I think of each version of this song this way: Simone and Garfunkel is the warning, Disturb is the anger that the warning wasn't listened to, and Pentatonix is the hope that we can come together and fix it. Great reaction!🥰😁
Goosebumps! It´s not often a cover is better than the original, but this is the exception. I saw them when they came to sweden a few years ago........ it's even better live.
I don't know if anyone already said this but they were deciding which song they wanted to cover. I think it was the pianist who suggested Silence nobody else agreed. But they tried it and here we are. I may have the details wrong but this is how I remember it.
And - Here we still are! Dec. 2024! Why is this the first time I'm hearing of this song??? David ROARS- like a LION!❤❤❤ LOVED YOUR REACTION! ❤ LORI ! IOWA
NO ONE CAN TOP THIS VERSION BECAUSE THE MAN RIPS YOU OUT OF YOUR SEAT AND DRAGS YOU ON A JOURNEY OF THE SOUL WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT! I love looking at people's faces in these reaction video of this one song to see if they really "get it"! Can't stop watching this song by this artist and I grew up with the Simon and Garfunkel song which made me cry every time but this one makes you want to get up and do something!
Disturbed’s version hits all your musical senses…You see it, feel it, and hear it all in a powerful crescendo into finally uniting the music with the musicians…Brilliant! Thanks for your well felt reaction! I love watching reaction videos of songs that move my soul…However, this cover by ‘Disturbed’ is always stopped for reaction just as it’s building to a new level…99% of male reactors do this, and I have to be honest and descriptive here (wives will understand what I mean🫢)… It’s like the act of physical love being expressed and you are in a rhythmic flow toward a beautiful climax and suddenly… your 6 yo. is knocking on the bedroom door…🙄🫤 Thanks for your beautiful reaction… 🦋Lily🦋
Wow! Your reaction was so genuine and amazing, but your suggestion of them covering Hallelujah got me in the feels! With David Dramain's classically trained voice, I can only imagine the result! We need this to happen!! 🙏🙏🙏
The gold standard of Disturbed and Sound of Silence is the Conan O Brian Live! The lyrics and performance are a masterpiece. If I'm not mistaken it won an Emmy. Stay well
It was supposed to be a harder version than this, but I believe it was the guitarist that suggested they slowed it down. And here you have it, pure history. Paul Simon was so impressed and moved by Disturbed's version. He shared it on his social media. Great reaction...
I gather David Draiman is a trained Jewish Cantor, not a classically trained opera singer. He says in an interview that one of the band members wanted to do this cover, having loved the song all his life. But he wanted to keep it entirely acoustic. It took a lot to persuade the rest of the band (including David). But for them all it is now a beautiful highlight in their performance set. Paul Simon himself has endorsed this cover as the best version that has been done. I'm in tears every time I listen to it. The power is overwhelming.
In interview David said they had been looking at 90's song for a cover, then 80's, no luck, David said let's go back to 60's or 70's. One of the band members brought in sos and they all clicked, then one member suggested slowing the tempo... which kicked off a collaboration, then he said he had to figure out how to sing it they did many versions and kept narrowing in on the parts they loved until they came up with this. Paul Simon linked this on his social media , said it made him cry and was the best cover he had ever heard.
It's the context...this is perfection but even better because of the preconceived notion that it's Disturbed. They hit you with the unexpected greatness.
David Draiman...a voice to die for! A powerful yet soulful voice that can go from warm baritone to angelic tenor, from clear as a crystal to rasp/distortion/vocal fry and back on a dime, which is incredibly difficult to do and he makes it look so damn easy! He has a timbre in his voice that I've never heard before.....just hauntingly beautiful and pure tonal properties to it! An awesome talent and obvious training to deliver what he does!! Can sing like an angel or the devil ! Loved your reaction and your take on David's performance NJ. Try "Deceiver", "The Night", "Indestructible", "The Light", "Enough", "Violence Fetish" by Disturbed too. Btw, David wanted to go back further than they've gone before for a cover and Mike suggested SOS because it was a favorite of his dad's.
I heard that there was a interview with David Draiman, the lead singer, about the band's decision to cover this song. In the course of their conversations, one of the band members (not sure who) said that they should strip down the song, starting with David and just keyboards, and build up from there. I was curious to hear that Disturbed, a heavy metal band, was doing a cover version of a such a classic song. I was expecting this loud and boisterous piece of music. I was shocked and very surprised to hear it. It's an exceptional piece of music and David Draiman is an exceptional musician/artist.
And just a little side note a lot of people don't know why Paul Simon wrote this song there's a lot of interpretations that you can take from the song but he actually wrote the song about the disconnection of humanity when TV was invented how it was a disconnection from art got people's attention and it got people to talk and now there was a neon God that created a silence in a disconnection of humanity
Thanks NJ!! So happy you reacted to this! I discovered Disturbed through this song. The original S&G version came out when I was about 7 and I loved it so much I learned every word. Like the others before me, I HIGHLY recommend watching the live version too. I never listened to heavy metal music before but went on to discover how much I love not just the vocals of Draiman, but the talent of the musicians. Lost my sis this year so listening a lot to 'Hold on to Memories'...another Disturbed vibe similar to this one. But I also love Stricken, Simplify, Down with the Sickness....etc. Thank you so much, Borahae
Besides the live version on Conan there is another live version you would really enjoy. It's from a Disturbed concert in Houston and it features Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge. Definitely. Watch. That. One.
Dave Draimon is something else. Gives me chills every time. You should have a listen to Simon and Garfunkel's version from 1964. Paul Simon loved this! More Disturbed? Yes, please.
FIrst time i've listened to David's take on this song I cried like a baby. Goosebumps and tears, i felt like listening to this song cleansed my mind of a lot of things i got pent up and i released them alogside his voice. You're really right, it's incredible what human beings are capable of. I want this cover by Disturbed to be played both at my wedding and at my funeral. Not even kidding.
Pentatonix focuses on the beautiful harmonies. Disturbed is emotional & passionate. Big difference. And you are right I would love to see how they would do Hallelujah!
Pentatonix are a few singers, this is 1 vocalist. David grabs your heart and soul with this rendition like NO ONE can achieve as well as he did! Powerful, profound and EPIC!!!
I've worn out this song literally. Had my kids listen & told them that the neon god they made was their cellphones & 2 start talking to ppl face 2 face . They have
I’ve binged watched loads of these reaction reviews on this song and yours was simply the best … simple words and explanation and natural reaction .. 👏👏
The lead singer loves S&G. He was really hesitant to cover this song but they screwed around with it a few times after completing one of their albums (cant remember which one). They ended up keeping it because how good it was. Simon and Garfunkel actually praised them for it. This is amazing. Been listening to them since they came out. Often an overlooked band. You should check out Darkness from their Believe album and Hold On To Memories. Nice reaction man. Loved the vid. Also a person who also has long hair. Like yours man. Well kept.
This is an amazing cover of a brilliant song, 1st done by Simon & Garfunkel warning us, if we don't change our ways we are headed for destruction, and Disturbs version is angry, because we didn’t listen to the warnings... 😌 I always feel this song is like a rollercoaster ride, slowly brings you to the top, then crashing to the bottom.....Great reaction!!!
SURE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE HIM PERFORM AT OUR MOVEMENT AT THE (FREEDOM CONVOY) THIS SONG 🎧 EXPLODE 🤯 IN OUR MOVEMENT, BUT WE WILL BE VICTORIOUS 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🪧🪧🪧🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
The live performance on Conan performed while David Draiman was sick will really show his talent. Please check it out and also try Disturbed's Hold on to Memories.

Dude trust me everybody that hears this song is feeling the same way it's unexplainable.
It is a religious experience, and it has over a billion views now! You are right, I've watched so many reviews and everyone is stunned especially when he growls PRAY it is unbelievable!
His official video received over 800 million views.
1.4 billion
Who could even compare to this?!?! WOW!
It took a lot of very very smart people to put this all together unreal ❣️
even Paul Simon has admitted this is the best cover he's ever heard

God works in mysterious ways!!!😂😂❤❤❤❤🎉
God is using David Draiman 's voice....it's bigger than you may know
Right? I always yell "JUST SHUT UP AND LISTEN TO IT!"
This is not a song you listen to, it is a cover you feel. Truly brilliant
I have seen Disturbed 7 times in comcert. And I will see them again.😊
This is a Blessing. God is trying to get our attention ❤️

It doesn't get any better than this. Goosebumps.
This is my FAVORITE version of Sound of Silence! His growly voice slays me!
No puedo pasar un dia sin escucharla. ES VERDAD, SU VOZ TOCA EL ALMA HUMANA Y LA HACE MÁS HUMANA. INIGUALABLE. DEBE SER ESCUCHADA POR EL MUNDO ENTERO.
I'm a pentaholic and I do like ptx version of this but Disturbed's version is just so incredible,, and the video is so intense. I don't think anyone can top this version
Same. I love PTX and their version is amazing. But this version tells a powerful story and it will always be my favorite version
Try the live version from the Conan O'brien Show...it's jaw-dropping
Yea, can't be topped. Absolutely epic rendition of the song...sung as it should have been from start.
I don't think he is human. Most Beautiful voice I ever heard. I am in love.
Disturbed's version gave me goosebumps and had me in tears at the same time. David Draiman is such an amazing singer.

David Draiman is classically trained and his operatic baritone twist to heavy metal makes him one of the best American vocalists ever.
His voice training comes from being a Cantor for his Synagogue.
Not classically trained
