Just got that exact spec, 3.5 Sport Prestige Uyuni white over red/charcoal. I shopped the Germans, owned then in the past, but the Genesis brings fresh styling, a well designed cabin, great fit and finish and a 4.8 sec 0-60 time. Add it's $5-12K cheaper for comparable specs, and has a better warranty and valet service.............watch our Deutschland, Genesis is serious !!
This is my favorite Genesis model, I think. Gotta see what the G80 Sport brings to the table.
I would pick this over the X3, Glc, and Q5

Yep and it won't sell as a Cadillac, but it would as a German brand.

Guys,...I am as impressed with this GV70 as you both seem to be. And I previously watched your BMW X3 m40i review which was terrific in all areas. But being a Hyundai owner, having owned now my 3rd Hyundai since 2015, I have to say as much as I liked the X3 m40i,...I like this GV70 just a bit better. The exterior design is like Mason said in the video, just WOW, really good looking from front to back. I have no complaints except 1,...No fog lights on this top trim 3.5 TT Sport Prestige package! I have those on my Tucson, but this vehicle is on another level, & is very Premium, so not having fogs would not dissuade me from buying this vehicle. Interior has taken some time to get used to being so different from everything else. But it still looks fantastic, & I can't wait to test drive one of these beauties in the very near future!...Thanks again for the great review as always!
It has the German counterparts in terms of price and the Americans and Japanese in terms of tech and performance. Damn near perfect.
What I like about it is it’s a cool dad compact SUV. A lot of the competitors looks like a small soccer mom compact SUV.

I wish they’d add more front passenger storage areas. Take what the GV80 has, pop it into the GV70, add 3 more cubic feet of cargo room and it’s the perfect SUV

Genesis is making some very impressive products but they have got to get past selling out of Hyundai dealerships. Luxury buyers demand a luxury buying and service experience and the sooner they have that the better.
They will be setting up Genesis dealerships but as of right now it was important to get the cars to the lots and start selling them. Setting up a Genesis only dealership will take a lot of time (you need to work with the county, get legal involved, get a ton of paperwork approved, design for the architecture approved, get a lot of approvals and certifications for everything on site etc etc the list is looooong of what needs to be done to get a single business setup). I have worked in commercial real estate it can take up to 2 years to setup a new building from the date you pick a site location. Not to mention they want to create these dealerships near other dealers and at least next to or close to Hyundai dealerships. It is easier and cost effective to sell out of Hyundai and over time upgrade the Hyundai dealership. Because anyone walking there to buy either a Hyundai or a Genesis will have a luxury experience and that is great for both brands. They will be making Hyundai buyers feel special as well and that is a huge win for that company. It will put every other budget/value car dealership look like dated and inferior.
Love the wheels, love the design split between the head and taillights, love the interior. The only thing i don’t like is that over - bite on the front hood lights and other areas. That design choice also makes it appear like it has panel gaps running down the sides.
The 60/40 split of the rear seats is a real miss, IMO. If this had been available when I bought my GV80, I’d have preferred it but for this important detail (for my needs). The GV80 offers a 40/20/40 split, so I can carry skis and two rear passengers without compromising comfort.

My two favorite "mid size 2 row" crossovers are the Nautilus and this one. I usually don't like the rotary shift but this glass one looks stylish. I can tell this has 375 horses because this thing will dip!
Technically this is a compact and competes with the Corsair, but with the proliferation of SUVs it is certainly fair to shop across classes.
I like the Corsair a lot as well but this looks more comparable to the Nautilus because of how spacious the GV 70 is. And the V6 option of the Nautilus would go head to head with this quite well.

@@jackporter1175 it’s damn near German levels of driving dynamics. It’s refined, smooth, has a soul, quiet, and steering has excellent weight and feedback. Brakes are excellent. Seat comfort is supreme and there are numerous adjustments available. The backseat is good for 2 and not 3. Not a problem for me. The cargo space is decent. The exhaust sounds nice. Your stereo is super. I do not like the red interior. It looks good at night too!

Can genesis ditch the current G70 and make a new G70 EXACTLY like this just sedan version

What makes this touchscreen climate control superior to others is this screen is solely dedicated to climate and the graphics don’t typically change, unlike the Subaru outback you have to push a button wait for the screen to catch up because it has to completely change.
Nice quality,the infotainment screen is wide & short.the rear wiper should be mounted from the top.I can not pick all of them including my XT5 that I love.I bought a Srx in 2011 so recently purchased an XTR w/ 20" rims & almost every option.I'm very happy w/ my purchase,lots more room compared to this a little less sporty at 310 hp.

What trim levels include the Full digital 3D gauge cluster?
Only prestige sadly, but that may change later on since in KR lower models also have it as an option, so we can only hope.

Hey Drew, I saw that during 21:49-21:51 you got mistaken by the gear selector instead of the infotainment system controller, many gv80 and g80 owners complain about that, I would personally do the same mistake!! 😂😂😂

@@beri232 That is excellent advice. We live in the mountains of Utah. We have cold winters but not as cold as yours. We do a lot of freeway driving going across the state visiting our children. That is why I'm really looking for a car with a good lane-keeping assist for these long freeway drives. Thank you again!

We tested them both, along with the Mercedes and BMW, and chose the 3.5 TT GV70. If you can put aside losing the "prestige" of the Germans, it's the better vehicle. It does everything well and was the only one on our list that had nothing we could criticize or wish for. The SQ5 was our 2nd choice, and it was a bit less expensive albeit with less equipment, but Audi's are everywhere and it's nice to drive something that people ask about and comment for its originality. We keep our vehicles 3-5 yrs except for the Model 3 we sold to buy this. Don't get me started on that.... Drive them both, you'll see what I mean.

Really nice car but the rear just doesn’t do it for me. One reviewer actually said the complete rear led light bar is played out like on the Macan but I like it. This rear end looks weird with such long rear lights and how thin it is. Really serendipitous as I’ve been watching videos for the last coupledom days and finally saw one tonight on the road.

When you say the all-wheel drive comes standard you're strictly referring to the 3.5 model correct? I only ask because the 2.5 states that it is rear wheel drive with no all-wheel drive offered on that tier.
Which country are you in? In the U.S, AWD is applied automatically to both engine options (for now, at least)
@@CarConfections hmm That's odd. Yeah I'm in Boston. While doing my GV 70 online window shopping all of the 2.5 models are listed as rear wheel drive for the 2022 models. Is there an article or source where you're finding your information in regards to all-wheel drive for the 2.5?
@@rogeliomaldonado4745 The Genesis website typically states the 3.5 and the 2.5 are all all-wheel-drive. I have not seen one article that states the 2.5 is rear wheel drive unless you’re in a different country.
I like it but would go with one of the other trim levels as I don't like the jazzed up wheels. Too much of the dimples.
I must have heads up display. I've been spoiled with it on my G70. Only the top trim has it. Same for the 3D gauge cluster. I do wish there were more mix and match options.

That is true! The 2021 Mercedes Benz S Class also has a fingerprint scanner as well as the EQS and upcoming 2022 C Class and AMG SL as of right now

Yes
We own a 3.5 TT Sport +. They are very similar but more cargo space. You fell more confined in the Macan, like in a porsche. If you want to take it to the track and are concerned about the prestige, get the Porsche. If you want cutting-edge style without losing on quality, and you want the best all-around, get the GV. We chose it over all the rest.
Does the passenger side have massage function or just the driver side?

This is a beautiful vehicle but I have a difficult time justifying its price. Genesis is a VERY young brand and needs to offer a value proposition to customers. Just like Lexus did in the late 80's. This GV70 simply isn't cheap enough to entice me to take a chance on a Genesis. Depending on trim, I think Genesis is $5k-$10k+ too expensive. Genesis brand vehicles also have a high depreciation rate.
No way I'd pay $60k for a Hyundai, sorry.

My GV-70 has been in the service department longer than it has been in my driveway. Battery keeps going dead and they can't figure it out. I love the car, but they can keep it! BUYER BEWARE!
