- *This video is based on real events. Wow, even during this time of year .. in Western Canada, dotted along the rocky mountains.. the cold weather continues to blow. One moment I have melting snow, the next deep freeze. Regardless, Im a Canadian and I go outside to have fun whether it is cold outside or not! I have picked up a Bushnell Radar Device that registers the velocity of a moving object. I not allowed to say the nug word in the video description, or my video will get demonitized... so "Registers the VELOCITY OF A MOVING OBJECT." Heh. Detector of speed, is another way to say it.
I have been wanting to know how fast MANY of my RC's are.. but have never had the ability to see. Now.. Problem Solved.

I was dying when you started ‘reading’ the packaging. That was hilarious. 80lbs at 30 Bushnells per hour would make a good sized dent in about anything. Could it be faster? of course it could, don’t be dumb. Faster doesn’t really mean more awesome in this case.
The thing people forget is most monster trucks run a Powerglide style transmission, which is only two speeds, top end is not their priority. Getting off the line and getting enough speed to catch big air in a confined space doesn't mean you are going to have a fast top speed. Go watch the Hoonigan video where they have Son of A Digger drag racing a 55 Chevy drag car, the truck launches hard, but its at top speed before the 1/8 mile mark.
The stock engine this truck comes with has enough power to pull a half ton pickup truck. This was designed and built to be a realistic scale solid axle monster truck. I think for what Primal was aiming for with this truck, they nailed it out of the park. Despite the cold weather and the extra shocks Medic added, the truck handles and jumps like a full size monster truck. The people hating on it are too busy comparing it to trucks that simply are not in the same category as this truck is. The X-maxx and trucks like it are buggies on sterroids with big tires, they are bashers not even a scale basher at that.
If you listen to ryan Anderson in that video or it might have been a bonus vid he said that the truck was geared down because at true top speed the truck hops about 2ft up and down and is really hard to control and would have ran over John. If you have ever operated heavy duty off road machinery on a public road you know what he’s talking about
Anthony Flores yep and ryan Anderson even says in that video that they geared the truck down so he could actually control the truck in straight line and not run over John in the Chevy
BueDually4x4 you are dead on right. To Anthony Flores' point The powerglide isn't specifically the cause of the lower speed so much as the gearing that they run (he focused too much on the specific tranny you mentioned instead of the underlying point of the different gearing, if he had picked that up he might not have been such a dick about it). They run powerglides because they're a heavy-duty single planetary that the drag world has developed bullet-proof upgrades for so they can handle sh**loads of power. People need to realize that you can have scale realism, or insane performance, not both. The farther you get to one end of the spectrum the more you compromise on the other. Hey Medic hope you and yours is safe. I was noticing another video this guy has the raminator with both axle steering. Was that an option when bought or did he do that him self? It was very cool seeing it move offset while driving a straight line.

That jump off the snow bank was bad ass
RADAR expert pro-tip: point it straight on the front of the truck (not down the side). Aiming down at angle creates what is known as the “cosign angular effect” and will give you an artificially lower reading. As you correctly pointed out, don’t move the RADAR either. This creates what is known as the “panning effect” and will give you an artificially high reading.

I honestly like the way you've carried videos lately- a little bit looser than they used to, but it's more entertaining in my opinion, and I can tell you very much enjoy yourself as well!
My neighbors would murder me in my sleep if I bought something like that. Just bought the Traxxas LaTrax Rally which is 1/18th scale for anyone that doesn't know. It's about the size as one of these trucks tires. I bought it for drifting/Gymkhana in my garage and driveway. Have a 1/18th scale Mamba set-up to put in it and I'm doing the full aluminum kit and carbon fiber upper and lower chassis. My RC18B ran about 55MPH with the Mamba set-up in it and the LaTrax Rally weighs about half of the RC18B so I'm looking forward to 60+MPH and that's not scale MPH.
Not a speed demon but that thing is AWESOME. Not many people can say they have a RC truck like that. Made that X-MAXX look tiny.

Power is impressive? Looks like crap to me. Slow acceleration and top speed lol. Apperently rc Sparks doesn't realize this but there's so many cheap upgrades that he can do to that engine which would make it go probably 3 times faster and also accelerate faster. That truck has the same exact engine you find on 49cc pocket bikes. Stock these engines are ok but you can buy 49cc engines complete with every upgrade or you can buy them separately. These upgrades are a big bore piston and cylinder, full circle crank shaft, carbon fiber reeds, racing clutch, racing exhaust and racing carburetor. There is nothing impressive about the performance of the truck in this video lol it's slow af. I've owned over 20 49cc pocket bikes and know those engines inside and out and I can honestly tell you that the performance of the engine in this video is not impressive at all. Wait till you see a video of someone who actually does these upgrades cause I bet you'll be alot more impressed.
