@@charliechavez1857 He is not a baritone, definitely a tenor. Baritone range ends at about A4, he skyrockets past that to an F5 I think. He's a solid tenor.
Gabe Drake He’s a baritone with tenor notes, or baritenor like some people say, similar to a lot of Broadway baritones nowadays. It’s hard to find roles for young low baritones. Although he does sing up to D5 in this song and higher in Dear Evan Hansen, those phrases are in his falsetto. His belt ends at a Bb4 and his falsetto could probably go up to like G5, which I think is pretty normal for a high baritone. His passaggio is still lower than a tenor’s

I've never heard of him. Saw him on Colbert and I'm obsessed. I dont think I have ever heard such an amazing voice. His range is insane, falsetto is perfection, he transitions so seamlessly. I have chills. May he always bless us with his voice!!!

I thought his name sounded ever so vaguely familiar when Colbert introduced him. As soon as he started singing and I instantly started FEELING the emotion and reacting, I thought, "This guy should BE 'someone'." So, still choked with/by tears, I dashed to Google him and then saw, oh, he's from Evan Hansen and oh, he's done this other stuff, and was thrilled to see that he already *is* "someone" and that his talent has already been recognized and lauded and he's been given the attention that someone with this kind of talent deserves. And I just love the joy on the faces of his backup singers. Beautiful. Just beautiful.

Catch his May 2017 interview with Colbert. He was young , inexperienced and nervous. But Colbert handled him beautifully and that interview turned out be great. 2 years later He probably remembers that.

Furthermore...it is a known fact, that very rarely, live performances of a recorded track, never sound as good as the studio version. This is an outstanding exception, it speaks volumes about Ben's professional standards and god given talent. Heaven has sent us a powerful singing angel.
I'm so happy that persons like him exist in this sick world, it seems to me that he is my friend and I'm his buddy, even if we don't know each other. I love this strange connection that guys like him create. He deserves the best.

I have a personal music collection, spanning 40 decades, 11 languages, at least 15 assorted genres, from american standards to post modern punk. I could safely say, i have over 50,000 individual songs in just cd's alone, plus more than 6,000 in mp3 format and thousands more in itunes. I am trying to choose my all time, lifetime top 100 tracks, no easy task. You all can rest assured "bad habit", will be in the top 10, of that 100 song list. I can't get this song out of my brain. Ben, if you read this, consider it a heartfelt compliment.

I was sitting in the audience at Colbert and was crying Ben was that good.. And Crystal Monee Hall and Kojo Littles singing back-up -can't get much better.. Just saw Ben at The Beacon Theatre in NYC - run to see him at Radio City whe he comes. Bravo!
