Don’t apologize, you are a mom, a wife, a sister, a daughter & a friend you are allowed to feel like you aren’t yourself at times. Bottom line is you’re awesome!
I’m a mom of twins and I relate so much to “ I’m not sad but I’m not me” comment. It’s not over sharing. You are a real person who is allowed to have feelings.
Pulling off dead leaves and keeping the top of the soil clean can help with pest management. Some bugs like to make their home in dead leaves on the soil surface.
Ohh you could get one of those baby swings that attach to the door frame and keep him in your door while you care for your plants in your plant room. I LOVE that room
I feel so bad when you apologize for your house being messy and talk about struggling to keep up with your plants. Being a work from home mom is sooo tough. Just remember, even when you feel your worst, to your son, you’re always perfect!
Dont feel bad about talking about how you're feeling! I think it helps us remember were all human and not everything is great all the time. With that being said I hope it gets easier soon and you find some me time more often.
That touched me too. Last year before I found plants again, I was very lost. I still am at times. I have found doing something for me. No house, kids, plant for 10 20 or 30 mins helps. Or option one is strangle someone!!
Gonna save this for doing chores later! Really love to watch your videos while doing some work around the house. Feels like we're hanging out together 🥺🌿💚
In a few words you summed up new motherhood so well! It's been 2 decades since I was there and you totally brought the feeling back. Thank you 💚 it was a wonderful, exhausting, beautiful time. Cherish it. It's gone in the blink of an eye.
I just think you are awesome Harli G! The tone of this video was very relaxed and friendly. Like we came over for tea and got the big tour and some girl talk. The feelings you expressed are quite common for mothers of young children...I remember feeling like I barely had time to take a shower let alone care for plants, pets and children. I was basically on a 20year "no buy" with my plants. I had about 25-30 species when my son was born. Felt like that was more than enough for the time. Glad thats over...haha! I loved the idea of get togethers or plant swaps. I actually teared up thinking how much I would love to spend some time hanging out with you and the other plant folks. I just love how genuine you seem to be. Happy Growing!
Haha I was trying to do plant chores while watching this video but liked the video so much I realized I was still on the couch at the end 😂 but it definitely motivated me to get up now!!
You just totally crack me up with your mannerisms, your personality, your transparency and your sense of humor and that's just extra besides your plant tips and info which is awesome. Love the real grit of your video.
"it wears me out, I feel like I can't be my own person sometimes." 100% relatable. Mom of 5 here and I defiantly feel kind of lost as an individual sometimes. Sending you lots of positive vibes and air hugs.
"I'm not sad, I just don't have time or energy to do me" This is such a mood, sometimes doing one thing for myself like putting on makeup or even a relaxing bath seems impossible.
Girl! I haven't warched your videos in a while, probably since you were still pregnant (no real reasons), and I came back today to a glowing, beautiful, contagiously happy woman. You and your plants are thriving! Watching this video was so uplifting. Thank you for making my day!
Same with the dead leaves pulling off! My satisfaction is usually abruptly interrupted when I try these with maranta/calathea leaves for some reason 🤣 I always tug and then end up needing scissors
Girl same, it just makes you more relatable. Like hanging out with a friend. I love that you shared how you're feeling. I have two younger sisters both with babies Kai's age, and daughters that are 5, you sound like a mom 💕☺️. One is also always out of breath hahaha 🤣
Yes, the first year being a mom was so hard, it was overwhelming and I definitely couldn’t just be me. Everything has changed. It’s a huge adjustment. ❤️
When I got pregnant with my second baby I was so sick I killed almost all of my plants, she’s 10 months old now and some days I don’t even get a moment to brush my hair- you’re doing great.
Stay at home Mom of three here.. I feel you 1000%, but be encouraged, it gets better and as you grow into Motherhood and lil man gets bigger you will find your BEST self again

Girl, you are cute and pleasant to watch and listen to, and your plants are beautiful! I hope you won't beat yourself up so much about your "messy" home (it's lovely!), or neglecting your plants. You seem pretty "on it" to me! I bought my first plant just over a month ago, and found your channel just last night. Have subscribed! 👍🏾🪴
harli you are a working stay at home mom. the fact that you work ( your plants are your business!) and care for a child at the same time is inspiring and you need to assert yourself to your partner if you need more you time. you deserve it.
Great and honest video, everything has its time and being a parent of small children is time consuming, do not forget yourself, your partner needs to step up more on the family so that you also get your time, take care of yourself💚
“I’m not sad, but I’m not me.” Have been spoken my every new mom, heck, by every mom in the world at one time or another. My kids are in their teens and I still find myself saying this and feeling it to the core!
I hear you on the never being home alone or just being worn out and not being your own person! That is 100% mom life! I for sure don't have the energy for anything with a 2 & half yr old and two dogs! You are still doing amazing! I love all the videos as a new plant person!
You nailed it on the head what it's like to be a mom. "I'm not sad, but I'm not me". It will get better. You'll find balance, and reaching out and asking for support is important when you need it! As your baby gets older too, you'll gain more of your autonomy back! Love you! 💜💜💜

I think it’s great that you touched on it. More people need to know that it’s normal and we’re not alone in that feeling.
Hi Harli! It was fun hanging out with you while you did some chores. Your propagation boxes are awesome! Sometimes I wish I had room to do that. I usually just start Pothos and Philodendrons in water. With all you've got going it's understandable to not always get things done. That's life with a baby, pets, plants, house, husband, etc. Hang in there girl! Thanks for sharing!

PROP BOXES OMG I love the reason why you said you do this I ONLY have plants because beautiful souls gave me cuttings and it brought me so much joy once I had a shelf full I started doing the same thing!
I enjoyed the video and appreciate your honesty. Thank you for keeping it real. And re: not having time to yourself, I appreciate you sharing that. I know a lot of people can relate. So excited seeing all of your propagations in your prop boxes! The plants are beautiful and I want some ☺️ Love how you show us exactly what you’re doing by bringing the camera close up. Thank you for your videos and your time! 💖💕
Welcome to motherhood, amazing how your priorities will change. The good news is a couple days of neglect will not kill your plants. My only son is currently 19 and I have found time during COVID to me a new plant mommy as his needs rarely include me.
Caption should be , "how a new mom transitions from plant babies to real baby". Give yourself some grace. After all, they're still alive.
Agreed! Anytime she asked what was wrong with her I wanted to hug her and say GIRL NOTHING YOURE JUST BUSY
Yesss we can relate 🙃
Amen! This, dear, dear girl: babies are SUPER labor intensive!

If there ever was a sentence that a Mom can relate to... sheesh!
Yessss!!!! 🙌🏽

Yes- you are a new mom! I understood exactly what you meant.
I have a 2 year old now, and I STILL feel this haha. You kind of evolve into a new you and that's a cool thing too. You're doing amazing!!
"What's wrong with me?" You've got a baby, a home, a business! Don't be so hard on yourself. That's a lot to manage.
Right?! And a beautiful home.
A lot to be thankful for for sure.
That's what I was thinking
Not really she has a husband
I use thrifted plates as inexpensive plant saucers.
That’s a really cute idea
