Great demonstration. ...I've just bought one not out of the box yet ....I will make an effort this week ...weather dependent... Hope you're good Tim Best wishes Gary 🦊
Thanks for the video , just watched it 👍 the rings are like my Hawke tactical with large nut to tighten down. When changing rifles do you really just go finger tight? Very interesting cause this will make it so much easier. Just bought the Scope Cheers.
Hi Tim, thanks for the info, I don't know if anybody asked but can you change the colour on the small x on the ballistic calculator from red? I'm colour blind and find it hard to see against grass etc..in the daytime. Thanks Paul from Yorkshire
Can't believe you finger tighten the scope mount nut...🤯...live and learn! I'm surprised the scope uses the internal battery first...then removable....can this be changed? I'm wondering what improvements could be made to this scope........it seems to tick all the boxes....
The reason why some don't update is because an update can add features you don't want or more likely, amend or delete features you do like. It can be a catch 22. An update can also contain errors so what worked fine changes.
Hi Tim I think i know the answer to this but will ask anyway. Does the balistic calculator automatically compensate for 'angle' (given that the scope features an inclinometer). I ask, as ive recently had a couple of very questionable 200 meter misses with shots taken from a significant angle. Shots taken from a very steady 'prone' position off a bipod, with a low recoil 17 Hornet, with NO wind etc... so easy shots! NOT bad ammo and im pretty sure its not shooters error.
@TheNightVisionShow Much apreciated. You would imagine the scope does factor in angle, but like I say, I've had two or three questionable misses. Possibly oddball 'bad rounds'... possibly 'shooters error' but all have been at steep angles (I'm talking 40+ feet above the target at 200 meters, so quite a steep angle, where trigonometry would start to play a part). Cheers
Fantastic explanation Tim,im now sold on the alpex with my pard ds35 going to take a back seat.1 question though,i understand that C1 is profile C for your .223 but what does the 1 represent, the pard DS35 has only ABC&D only with no numbers afer the letters, cheers🇮🇪
Hi, so C=profile 1= the zero distance within the profile. so you can have C1-100 C1-200 get set different zero distance but thats not needed with the LRF and BC. hope that helps
Hi Tim When using the lrf in the alpex you get an extra crosshair for bullet drop. Now I’ve ranged something the other night at 53m (zero is at 50m), the crosshairs are overlapping now. How do you clear the lrf one to keep shooting with a clear centre cross hair? Turning it in and off doesn’t clear it, turn the ballistic calculator on and off? 🤷 Cheers for any help
@@gregorziegler1015 No the alignment of the LRF depends on your zero position. It's set at the factory so they are all central until you zero and the shift of X and Y of the POI is relative to where the LRF box will reside.
@@TheNightVisionShow On the Pard DS Series, the user can move the LRF box to coincide with the laser splash. @@TheNightVisionShow Having to change the mounting height for each rifle negates the nice demonstration of swapping it between rifles and keeping a zero. Once you change the mounts to get different heights on different rifles, all bets are off.
I got the same problem. I run it with external battery and internal battery fully charged then after about 4 hours i got the battery low warning. Hot swap the external battery then nothing happen, the battery indicator still in red. Any hints to resolve it?
Charging scopes ( or ANY lithium ion battery is not best done over night. It should always be done when you are present and in a place where if it does go pop, you can action or at least, get out. I have been using lith for years and I have never seen any of my cells go into runaway but if it does, you don't want to be close. On board, you have no choice but still take precautions. If your doing 18650's or other size cells, then best use an intelligent charger ( like the one supplied by HIK). Cheapo cells and cheapo charges are not your friends. Over charging is bad. Over discharging is very bad.
Since this informative vid' was produced (three months ago), HIK have recently (last week) issued corrective updates for all their equipment, which IS causing 'several' instances of the updates producing faulty readouts.!!!!! to their equipment!!!! In conclusion, if its not broken dont fix it. David at Predator Protection UK, is on the case. Buyer beware.
Hi, you should always keep your devices running on the latest firmware to maximise its performance. same as you do with your mobile phones. we are working with Hik's R&D team to get the best features for all users.
Thanks for taking the time to do this been putting off taking off my 223 to transfer to the 17
Glad I could help have to trust the device. just make sure you know where the lugs sit on the rail each time and you will be golden.
Excellent video, very informative 🤓
Glad it was helpful! thanks for the comment.
good vids mate and informative .
would like the zeroing profiles to be able to change to what i want save me trying to remember a,b,c lol
Hi, just the most simple way

Great to hear Gary, look forward to hearing all about it!
Excellent. Thanks for the effort.
no problem
let us know what you want to see and we will do our best to make it happen.

Hi, yes I have never torque a scope ring in my life. my alpex is on a different rifle every night and never missed a beat.

it has been passed on dont worry.

never have and never had a issue. it uses the internal first then can always run in 18650s for as long as you want.

hi thanks for the comment. thats fine each to there own but 9/10 times the people that dont do update are the ones that have issues with the scopes.

Morning, it's something thats been said, I have used mine on high shots and it's been bang on. but will report back and let you know.

Great content. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’m not on the Facebook so apologies if covered before. Will holdover/under X be replicated in PIP on future updates.

id recommend using the small dot for hold over maker. it should it should go after 20-30 secs when the last range goes or when you range a new target.
May I ask what rings you are using ? Thanks. Enjoyed the video.
Hi the ones in the vid are vortex tac ringswww.scottcountry.co.uk/products/vortex-tactical-rings-30mm-high-picatinny
Hey, how do you get the lrf box in the display closer to the reticle?
Hi you can't it's factory set.
Does that mean that it is located somewhere different at the factory for every Alpex?
@@gregorziegler1015 No the alignment of the LRF depends on your zero position. It's set at the factory so they are all central until you zero and the shift of X and Y of the POI is relative to where the LRF box will reside.
Bugger wish it could be
Hey mate, can you manually adjust windage and elevation with the alpex for fine zeroing?
Thanks.
The X and Y coordinates are both adjustable for fine tuning. The one shot zero system allows for fine adjustment once zeroed.
Could i ask why you have changed from innomount quick release rings to another brand of rings? Cheers
Hi, had the innomount on a different test scope.
Also, we really need to be able to move the LRF Box ...
factory set. 5 rifles and its all in a good posstion on each profile can all be fixed with mounting hight

Being able to move both the lrf splash ..and the lrf box would be handy..

with the lrf box just range it then zoom in
yes fingers crossed it will be changed on the next update
Super vidéo mais j ai un problème avec ma batterie externe n’est plus reconnue. Des conseils pour le résoudre ??
Hi, could try a restore if not Hik support via the app they should be able to help
How do you get the square for the LRF closer to the reticle?
Hi, you can't move the LRF box its factory set.
If I was to get one for my air arms s200 sub 12, how will I work out what data I to scope for drop etc?
Hi just need the speed, BC of the pellet and scope hight, and zero distance, then fine tune and your good to go.
When can we expect MOA/inches, for us old times that don't like everything in metric. For the ballistic calculator & drops, etc 😊
Hi, yes this has all been passed back and should be on the way in the next update.
My external Battery is not recognized anymore. Any hints how to resolve it?
have you run the internal all the way down ?
