Nice thing about these UMX sized planes is the mass to weight ratio. If it runs in to anything, bounces or normally tumbles, little to no harm done.... less chance to break, it, you or others... ONLY size i fly... I crash a lot
These little EPP Volantex V761 series planes are great starters. It's good that they've upgraded to ailerons & 10mm motors on the 4 & 5. When they fix the motor failsafe and low voltage problems they will be the undisputed top of the heap.
Looks like a great little plane, definitely in my future wish list. I had the Beaver one, similar but it got stuck up a tree where I used to live, I have lost around 4 planes to fly aways, and 1 Twister Quattro X drone to a crash (battery disconnection or shot down) Got to stop being so wasteful in my R/c adventures.
Liking mine a lot so far. Pretty stable for it's size, and still very agile in Expert Mode, and still does loops in Intermediate Mode. I had to adjust the landing gear a bit, as out of the box it was riding too low, and the prop would come off on even a gentle landing. Now it's better, and it can be landed more scale like.
@@EssentialRC You mean the Mini Mustang? Yeah, I like that one as well, but it's a bit more twitchy in Expert Mode, and harder to fly straight and smooth in a little breeze.
@@EssentialRC I thought it was my limited rc plane experience, but if you find the Mustang twitchy too, than it must be the plane itself. I did read about someone putting the ailerons on a hole further away from the control surface, to tame down the response. Haven't tried that myself, I do as you, mostly fly in Intermediate mode, where it can do loops, and even a little inverted for a short moment, if you give down elevator on the top of the loop. The FC then often needs a few seconds to determine how to level the plane. And use the Sport Cub for acro training.
They are both very good Jon. Depends on your skill level really. This Cub is better for inexperienced pilots. The P51 demands good flying skill really. Cheers - Dom (Essential RC)
Yeah, these are fairly good for those with zero experience who want to try RC on the cheap. The only minor draw back with these small models is that they are small and light and have to be flown in zero or very light wind. Otherwise just make sure you understand the modes and how to select them before you fly. Do not use Expert mode until you are very comfortable in the MIDD mode. Cheers - Dom (Essential RC)
Love the video and yes this would be ideal model for a beginner and a bit of fun for more experienced pilot also being scale looks good in the sky too, and for the price with all in box need no more except batts for transmitter you cant go wrong , cheers and thanks for sharing.
Looks fun and easy to fly but I imagine anything other than a light breeze and this is going to struggle? Is there anything else that you know of on the market which is a bit bigger and will handle wind better but still great for beginners without costing hundreds? Is the XK800 noticeably better in that respect? Many thanks
Hi There Dom , I Have a question for you hope you can help me out as i been scratching my head about this all day , i bought some Y lead servo extensions and ive realised that they have resistors added to the join on each lead , i never have recalled this being the case on y-lead extentions before , there only cheap and from china but its only dling a basic job like for ailerons or flaps using one channel instead of the two but im buggered to know why they have put resistors in the y-lead and the supplier had no idea what i was on about and i thought id ask someone else before i used them hope you can shed some light on this for me Dom !! Cheers Budd
Not seen that before. Sorry can't help there Andrew. Maybe ask on RCGroups.COM or BMFA facebook group. Cheers Dom (Essential RC) p.s. You sure it's not a reverser?
I think some may have done this using the RasioMaster TX16S but worth googling that. Not something I have done but if you know the protocol used by the stock radio/receiver it should be possible.
Hi sir...Thnx for the vodeo....I have one of those....When I fly in expert mode amd just fly straight....The plane always goes up....The nose just keep going up....Am I doing something wrong or I am suposed to keep pressing up elevator to pevel it?
Use the elevator trim slider or change the position of the elevator itself by bending the push rod or recalibrate the gyro. There should be instructions to do that in the manual that came in the box.
Have you had any trouble with the controller sticks 'sticking'? My rudder seems to stick when full left or right - wondering if anyone had seen the same and fixed it?
Hey @Essential RC, i was wondering if you could help me solve a problem. I am pretty much a noob at flying so i'm not sure of the specifics on this one. BLUF: The throttle of my plane isn't working. After i power it on correctly (Transmitter first, then plug in the battery and let the plane dance for a few seconds). The motor arms (2 beeps), but when i raise the throttle nothing happens. I've had a few hours of flight on this plane and it has had a handful of crash landings, but nothing too serious. The motor is a bit loose in the fuselage, but i am afraid to cut it open and not be able to fix it. Any ideas? (I already tried looking it up and it says something about ESC and throttle trimming, but i don't think the default controller has a throttle trimmer).
We flew them indoors and crashed them a few times without serious damage so I'd say they were fairly durable. Video to prove... ruclips.net/video/LSwrhR-Fpxs/видео.html
I prefer this one. The stabilisation is very good and it is made from EPP foam which is more durable than the EPS foam that the XK600 is made from. Buy this one bit.ly/volantexRcSportCub
This is a brilliant cheap and ready to fly plane for anyone wanting to try out RC flight for the first time. It's very durable as well. Shouldn't break the first time it hits the ground unexpectedly.

I just got this. Love the durability so far. I hope the motor and electronics last long.
How is it holding up?
Was it really really windy or something and looks like the thing barely moved into a head wind ??

Up there with some of the best models we have reviewed this year. Tried the P-51?
@@EssentialRC You mean the Mini Mustang? Yeah, I like that one as well, but it's a bit more twitchy in Expert Mode, and harder to fly straight and smooth in a little breeze.
@@rc-fannl7364 Yup. Mini Mustang. I don't bother with Expert mode. Too twitchy. Just nice to fly it around in Midd mode. Even indoors.

Hi!! I'm a newbie here. I see that there is not much wind. Can I assume that with more wind, it will be a bit more difficult?
Yes as its small and light. Only good for up to 5mph or 10mph at most
Great, concise review!
For an absolute beginner with no experience whatsoever, is this a good starter ? Good videos and really got me hooked, advice please

Cool little plane and great skills in pretty gusty conditions 👍✈️😊
Could you bind this plane to another transmitter and still utilize the one key aerobatics?

Cracking video!
Can you tell me, is it possible to bind this little model to my DX8i?
Thanks
I got this before then the propeller socccet broke
Was wondering if this much of an upgrade vs their mini trainstar?
This is way better. Larger and good aileron control from memory. More power as well.
@@EssentialRC Thanks so much. Already contemplating how a motor change will go. Great channel and thanks for the response.

I think this is a clone of the sport cup s from horizon, isn't it? It looks like the same
A Cub is a Cub is a Cub. It's a copy of the full size. I'd give you that.
@@EssentialRC ok, what do you mean with ' I'd give you that'?
If you said it was a copy of a full size Cub I would give you that...but not a copy of a Horizon RC. That's what I meant.
@@EssentialRC oh ok
Well, it is actually smaller than Horizon's Sport Cub, the wing chord and length are smaller on this one. I have them both.
Very Nice Plan
This or the mini trainstar for a beginner?
I like this one personally !
@@EssentialRC thanks for your reply
Have you had any trouble with the controller sticks 'sticking'? My rudder seems to stick when full left or right - wondering if anyone had seen the same and fixed it?
Not experienced that and I've had lots of these type models. Maybe try and disassemble the transmitter and clean the gimbals.
@@EssentialRC Thank you - I have two of them now, so will take one apart.
When you order it from banggood, is there a spare prop inside the box??
Yes. Always a spare prop in the box with these RTF models.
