One of the best ball diff assembly video's I've seen. Just got a ball diff for my LD as I want to make a dirt buggy. Been a little hesitant to mess with it due to my experiences with ball diffs on my TLR's, but this makes the whole thing seem quite reasonable and manageable. Nice job.

Another great video and slightly different from the KC diff I’m used to building. Many thanks, keep them coming🙏

I have always run the grooves in the thrust facing each other. About to rebuild a diff tonight and will try one flat side facing the thrust balls.
Thanks for these professional videos Trish! Your editing is great but I see it improve with each one!

I ve just put a new diff in my xtr3e and it spins the spur gears but not the wheels. Maybe the old 20year old one was ok!
    Don't know what's happening

Fantastic video, thanks Trish. I'd be considered intermediate and still learnt a few tips. I'm interested to learn if anyone sands the diff washers prior to install?

No scuffing needed because of how the diff works

Absolutely fantastic, so useful really appreciate you taking the time share this excellent information. I do have a couple of questions, do you sell the balls and diff washers separately, or do you have to purchase the complete diff? If so where can I find part numbers. Second question, I see many other talking about running the diff in. For example, holding 1 wheels for 15 seconds etc... you didn’t really mention too much about this. Does this mean that running the diff in isn’t really applicable with this specific diff? Thanks again.

Allan O'Brien thank you very much for the advice. Would you have tips to run ball diff in, mine in the pack unopened?

Trish, I am returning to racing after many years and wonder what the real difference is between geared diffs and ball diff on astro turf. At my local club I am told I need to run a ball diff when its wet. Wondering what your thoughts are?

Ball diffs are best suited for loose tracks where as gear diffs are best suited for high traction tracks
