Workin Out is so damn silky smooth. His ability to bring an original flow and cadence seems so effortless. I can sing every word of most rap songs after 20 or so repeats, but with JID I can have all the words memorized, but picking up his flow is another story.
I think he's nearly mastered the art of clarity in his music. He fits so many words into his verses and packs them so deep in content but you can understand what he's saying as well when he raps fast, em and kdot have mastered that ability as well

When J.I.D. raps I think of a Free Verse Poet that go to poetry clubs. They change tempos alot and say their words like they are syllables and the flow is always unpredictable.. It's why hes so unique. Dope writing and delivery.

Might be a stretch but the whole project itself seems to be telling a story of someone who was living a thug life (slick talk) that eventually started seeing some success (westbrook) and then had people try to come at them so they had to still show that they weren't someone to mess with (off deez), they then saw a lot of the negatives about that lifestyle (151 rum) and they tried to change (off da zoinkies) only to quickly realize that it was harder to change than they thought (working out) and were having troubles with their love life (tiiiiiiied and skrawberries), they go back to weed as a coping mechanism (hotbox), then go completely back to the old bullshit but now with success on top (mounted up), then a moment of reminiscence (just the other day), and cap it off with a powerful message of being able to do what you want (despasito too)

His brain works differently, he seems like he is talking about so many different things but once you sit down and listen to them carefully they all tied together

Just to add a little context, according to J.I.D, most if not all of the songs on this album were made back in 2015. That could explain why you guys believe that these songs lack the requisite depth, as he was a much younger artists than he is now when these songs were made.
