Assassin’s Creed Mirage FPS Performance Review on the iPhone 15 Pro Max & iPad Pro M4 | iOS Gaming

- In this video I will test both the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the latest iPad Pro M4 with this newly released port Assassins Creed Mirage. Quick note, the iPhone version of this game has been graphically downgraded in comparison to the iPad and PC version. But, despite the downgraded graphics and resolution, still, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has some trouble running a steady 30 fps at high graphics. Therefore, I highly recommend medium graphics for those wanting to play on the 15 Pro Max. In this video, I will specifically test the iPhone using medium graphics while using high graphics on the iPad Pro M4

Let me know if your interested in seeing a FPS test like this done on the iPad Pro M1 and M2. Thanks again for watching 🙏🏿.
Try and emulate the game on android to see how the SD8G3 handles
Waiting to see the similar videos on Call of duty mobile.
Hi, i was thinking of getting an M1 MacBook would be nice to see the performance of games on the laptop
yes
yes, i have M1
Your literally the only channel that actually tested the FPS and showed a fps meter. So many channels with 1 mil subs were lazy and just posted gameplay videos without actually trying to help we the consumers know whether or not these devices actually run this game properly! Thank you Dame for being a real reviewer. You deserve 1 million subs instead of these other lazy CCs. 😤
Not lazy, we don't even know how to enable the HUD beside Dame
@@superqaxclub yeah but channels with millions of subs should know how, plus there is perfdog which big channels could use instead. Dame is a smaller channel compared to those big ones .
Your channel is killing it!! Keep it up!
Thank you so much! This means a lot 🙏🏿
Dang so fast. I’ve played through some of the demo but I’m glad to see a bit of the technical details of its performance!
On my pc with rtx 3070 ti graphics card I run this game on 1440p max settings I got 98fps avg
30 fps for a mobile that 10 times or more weaker than my pc is impressive 👏🏽
This is mobile version of assassin's Creed mirage, not a PC version.
Half the size of storage and half ram usage, much less resource intensive than PC version.
3070ti desktop is 8x faster than m4 chip and 16x than A17 pro
Blackwell and rubin will kill everything.
You can’t put your PC on your pocket though. The advantage is basically the mobility and good quality. It’s not bad at all.
@@ehtasam2080 Can you put your PC in your pocket? The Iphone 17 Pro games at a sustained power of about 4Watts. The Ipad at 10 Watts.....that's the entire iphone/ipad..........The 3070ti pulls 290W of power......That's 70x the wattage compared to the iphone and 30x the wattage compared to the Ipad.....and that's just the GPU......that doesn't include the CPU, RAM, Monitor, Fans etc...a 3070ti system uses at least 400Watts of power if we were to lowball it.......That's over 100x the iphone.............Desktop PCs in general are inefficient pieces of garbage........The Fans alone on your PC, GPU cooler fans + CPU Cooler fans + Case Fans.........use more power than the entire ipad pro when gaming.
"Blackwell and rubin will kill everything"........Thanks to apple silicon, They can bring AAA games to hundreds of millions of people, a larger base than the Playstation and Xbox combined........Nvidia's main money doesn't even come from gamers anymore, it's why they keep shafting gamers, they are a second priority.
@@simonrharmili4022 I can absolutely carry my steam deck or Rog Ally anywhere and both can play any AAA titles and can also emulate any past gen consoles like ps2, wii and GameCube.
Fun fact: Both cost about half the price of iPhone 15 pro and iPad M2 pro 😂

Hands down the best video and reviewer showcasing how the iPhone and iPad actually performs with this game. I hate seeing so many gameplay videos and no actual data or fps charts. I wonder why people don’t use apples metal hud for fps readings

hello DameTech, i noticed there was a new resolution setting option for mobile in genshin impact. and it was a big increase over the previous render resolution (less pixelated image quality when not using TAA). can you test it? how much of an increase of resolution compared to before?
did you try it with the gamesir x4? or it didnt work with the iphone?
How can possible?Assassin creed mirage can playable on smart phone and tablet completely insane now.Great vedio.❤❤❤
What are you using to show the information? Is that an app?
What is the software for the test top right?
Will you test the new render resolution setting Genshin Impact (mobile) got in its latest update?

Please, please, how do I show the number of fps on a screen? Explain to us the method
Hey what is this application through which you are testing the fps ??
It’s called Metal Performance HUD. You can find out how to use it by searching on Google and you will see a tutorial on Apple’s own website since it’s their FPS software
New subscriber here! Love to see a channel that focuses on mobile gaming and actually shows FPS tests 🎉
Also question! Do you happen to have a mobile cooler you’d recommend? I know longer gaming sessions can make my iPhone hot at times! 😅
Thank you for joining the community! I’d say MagSafe coolers are all pretty much the same; however, the important part to get for your phone is a cooling Pad Heatsink Thermal Self-Adhesive Plate that you can find on Amazon. This transfer the heat from the side of the phone (where the SOC is) to the middle where you will have your MagSafe cooler. It’s about 10$ and I highly suggest investing in this heatsink so when you use your cooler it will cool your phone effectively.
What program did you use to show the fps on screen?
Metal Performance HUD
Honestly just impressed it can run it at all
Is this using metal fx upacaling like the other console ports?
No, they didn't use MetalFX, just like Baldur's Gate 3 on Mac OS
Please tell me how to display fps like this on ios 18.
Thanks for this. Really wish we could get 40- 60 FPS on the M4.
You and me both! Hopefully the game will get an update like Warframe did and we get 60 fps for iPads

Does this need wifi, run on LTE, or run just off of the iPhone itself (kind of like offline play) since it's downloaded to the phone? This is a great review!!

There needs to be an update so that the ipad can run at 60 fps

Why is it that during the testing, the way basim was controlled, he was so slow in iPhone. He stops everytime, he rarely pressed the sprint button, he almost always stopped to look at the surroundings. In iPad, he controlled Basim quickly, almost running/sprinting everytime, no stopping to look at the surroundings. Is it to minimize the fps hickups on iPhone?
No it was my first time ever playing the game on the iPhone. That's why after I started the parkour I got the hang of the game and picked up speed on the iPhone. That was only the beginning. The iPad was my second time and I already knew what to do

Bro I have 15 pro but graphics are better on your pro max how can I solve is it about I didnt buy the full version
Was it on high or medium on the M4? Cuz when I run it on iPad Pro M4 on high graphic, it appears to lag time to time.
Same to me, when i use high graphic on M4 it gets a lot hot too!
I tried closing all apps! At least is not lagging anymore! But it still get Hot though.
He’s running it at high graphics.
You also got to keep in mind though he has the 10 CPU 16 GB version model. That plays huge difference as well.
My experience on the 11” M4 Pro was pretty bad. Massive stuttering and lots of frame drops. I was very underwhelmed, but perhaps I need to try it again with all other apps killed or something. My iPhone 15 Pro (not Max) was even worse; the audio/talking between characters was all out of sync. The start of the game in the room Basim wakes up in had me moving around for about 30 seconds before the main cutscene started. I think I tried it on High mind you, but it was a shambles. Perhaps I need to try both again. I was using a Backbone for both, by the way.
@@miketja I have an iPhone 15 so my experience is limited on the iPad Pro M4 11 inch, and that corresponds to yours.
I heard that on the M2 iPad Pro and Air the game runs perfectly fine, without any crashes, so it could be a bad optimisation for the M4 chip.
I hope for a fast update otherwise I’ll be sadly forced to request a refund

No controller required but a controller is highly recommend to make the experience better.
@@WadeKappenman hi, you are right, previously I tried to play the game without controller, only using touch screen, but it feels awful. I can’t get it right with most actions, especially aiming. I wish these mobile ports gave us more granular graphics like on PC. the iPad Pro M4 does indeed have untapped potential that I want to make use of in my preference of frame rate caps/fidelity/resolution. It is impressive to see this running on such a thin and light device haha.
My game is crashing every 15 to 20 min at any gfx setting on my 512 gb iPad Pro. Did the usual reboot closing all running apps even reinstalled. Really disappointed
I just was telling someone this on Twitter, but This game uses up to 6.5 gbs of ram. Thus, if your playing with the 8gbs of ram version iPad, you absolutely cannot have any additional apps open, and definitely not screen recording as this takes an additional 2gbs of ram. 8gbs of ram is not ideal with this game. You probably have to turn off background refresh as this uses up ram too

Yes at high graphics
I still think they should add 40-60 fps for the iPhone as well because I’m sure on low graphics it could reach and steady around 50

Should be 1080p 60fps at high graphics. Rather than a bit more resolution.
Medium graphics for the iPad version is 1080p. But since the iPad Pro M4 handled 1300p flawlessly at high, I tested on high graphics. But yes I do think the M4 can handle 60 fps at 1080p.
1080p and 60FPS - no no no, todays gamers are dreamers 🙂 It's a mobile device, it's balance of battery, hardware and heat. To get Full HD on 60FPS, the best idea is to play on PC, not handheld's devices.
@@KicksonAcapulco13-no5rd no I agree , but I am saying to the video asking about 60fps. The only way would be to lower the resolution, but even then a 720p upscale to 1080p is more realistic. I game on PC with a RTX3070, so I understand the power restrictions. If you love tech and gaming, you can’t help be pretty happy with seeing real games on mobile devices. Apple is doing pretty great tbh, I was once an apple hater. But in recent years, it’s finally getting plausible for gaming. I wish the gpu had 2 - 4 more cores though.
I’m definitely going to buy the pro max version of iPhone 16 and exclusively use it as AAA gaming handheld console beside my switch or it successor 😅.
I tried to play this game already on my iPad M4, but it crashes all the time
If you have the 8gb iPad M4 than high graphics cannot work without crashing. High graphics uses up to 7gbs of ram alone. Once your iPad gets maxed out on ram it will crash. You need 16gb of ram for high graphics. Also the 16gb version has a 10-core CPU vs 9-core in the 8gb version
@@DameTech Nope, not high graphics. I play on medium.
The game sometimes crushes on my iPad Pro M4 because of overheating( Bit its really insane to play it on mobile

It’s running natively, the game can be purchased in the app store
what the size of the full game?
~10gb
For just prologue. I have still yet to download full version but it seems like it's 50gbs like death stranding and RE4
@@DameTech Does the full version have the same problems with optimization and graphics?
12:17 Most PC games running at 1080p? You mean those that cost way less than even a iPhone 15PM? Well if you compare PCs' that are in the same price range of the new iPad, the difference would be bigger than the distance between the Milky Way and Andromeda(over exaggerated).
You’re missing the point. It’s not about a direct comparison as a tablet and PC are two different devices. I made a post about this awhile ago, but gaming isn’t the primary reasons many buy these devices. Gaming is an additional feature on top of the multitude of things you can do on a phone or tablet. For example, all the videos and thumbnails you see on this channel have all been created and edited on my iPad Pro M1/M2 (soon to be M4). Hence, when considering all of the other features plus gaming, the price isn’t as bad as you think, the same with phones nowadays; especially the S24 Ultra. With Dex a PC isn’t really needed as it pertains to administrative work.
I can't waiting about AC Shadows for iPad only
Fsr 3.1?
No MetalFX with this game.
What’s up with those black bars, why do we need to have them on all the AAA games releasing from M1 and onwards. Don’t see why it wouldn’t be possible to get rid of them.
Probably laziness from devs
@@johnsonm3563 Yeah was thinking that as well. Sad thing though, these devices are really capable and can definitely replace a switch. I absolutely love my M4 iPad and its performance. This experience is great and I’m happy that we are getting all these ports but would have been absolute perfection if they were optimized for the screen size of the iPad. Idk how much work that would actually require though for developers, might be nothing might be a whole lot more than I would think 🤔.
Blame apple for their shitty 4:3 aspect ratio. 😂
Not even that , in stage manager you can’t play it in your monitor in full screen
@@sweedishpie360 lol how is apples fault. It's the developers not apple to fix aspect ratio
Not bad performance for a mobile in pc game
But You should also keep in mind that this phone costs thrice the cost of steam deck but only able to give 30 fps on lower resolution and medium graphics.
THIS KIND OF GRAPHICS DEMANDING GAME CAN ALSO BE RUN ON A 20K ANDROID PHONE BUT UNFORTUNATELY UBISOFT NOT DEVELOPED FOR ANDROID USERS BECAUSE UBISOFT KNOW THE ANDROID USERS DON'T HAVE THAT MUCH PURCHASING POWER TO PURCHASE GAME OR THEIR PRIORITIES ARE DIFFERENT.
But Ou should keep in mind that the iPhone can male muuuchhmore things what your steam deck can't do😂😂
@@ds268393Damn, coping hard.
You typically play games on ipad very close to your eyes so high res is very important on such a big screen. Ipad mini with m4 would be perfect for 60pfs 900p experience.
I don’t know why but the game keep crashing after 30 minutes
Are you playing on iPhone 14 Pro?
Do you have an older model with 6GB RAM, or a newer one with 8GB RAM? The 6GB RAM just barely enough for a console level game, in this test you can see it's use about 5GB memory, but the system also use by default.
@@TamasKiss-yk4st probably has older model
Most PC games run at 2560 x 1440 or 3840 x 2160 or their ultrawide variants, not 1080p. I don’t know anyone that still has a 1080p display except for like super high refresh rate esports gamers or people who haven’t purchased a monitor in the last decade…
I own a 1080p monitor but it's 240Hz so it's actually worth it. I play at 4k using DSR and the input lag isn't noticeable!
Why dev not using metal upscaleer
Great question. My guess is game is just too demanding thus, iOS gets the lowest of low. Even upscaling can create a small amount of stress that devs seem to not want to put on the iPhone. iPad on the other hand can handle
@@DameTech thank for reply
